    1. Pinkie teleporting? WHAT A

peculiar thing for an earth pony to do. Well I guess this means more fourth wall breaking in Pinkie's future.

    2. its time for pinkie pie TO MAKE DE MAGICS

      ReplyDelete
    3. ...but Pinkie can already teleport, shown during her humorous chase scenes with Rainbow.

      ReplyDelete
    4. That is rather the point.

      This explains why.

    5. I like how it's not even really adding anything to the show. It reads as a script for some "deleted scenes" explaining why Pinkie can teleport and shit.

    6. Eh, certainly nothing wrong with it. Fun for a quick laugh. And I am interested to see where it goes...

Yeah, I guess I liked it. 4 stars for now. Wondering where it'll go from here.

    7. It required more Magic Missle and Darkness.

      Silly little thing though. :3

    8. Nice read, would like to see it continued. But it could have been a bit longer, it might have been better if more than just one chapter would have been uploaded.

    9. Interesting premise. Can't wait to read more.

    10. I haven't read it yet but I can imagine Pinkie saying something along the lines of " I will use these powers for the good of all ponykind. Or my own self-ammusement. I'll play it by ear."

    11. Pinkie Pie DOES have magic. Her Pinkie Sense is some sort of Wild Magic, so Wild it doesn't show up on the usual detects for magic.

    12. I think Lauren Faust stated that all three breeds of pony have some form of magic, pegasus magic allows them to walk on clouds (and fly) while earth pony magic makes them stronger then the other breeds or something. Maybe Pinkie's teleportation is just her innate magic manifesting in a weird way.

    13. So... Pinky Pie JUST being Pinky Pie ? Well, I like her, but the title basicly means nothing now...

It would have been more interesting to see Pinky Pie with REAL magic powers, not the normal Pinky Pie TRADEMARK abilities...

      >she can suddenly perform magic
      >magic
...MAGIC missiles ! You know ?

      Just saying.

      What?
      WHAT??
      WHAAAAAAAAAAAT????

    15. Oh man, the ending to chapter 2.

    16. Friendship is magic...

      Magic appears to be contagious...

So, does that mean that friendship is contagious?

That actually explains a lot about the fandom.

    17. I... wait what?! WHAT?!

...Okay, as much as I feel pinkie pie is the sort of pony that shouldn't be "explained," at least the story made some sense with where it was going. But the end of chapter two... WHAT?!

      Author here.

Not to worry. It is explained. I just seem to enjoy throwing in twists like this to make them question what's going on. The reactions are usually pretty hilarious

    19. >Especially dark chocolate, cuz that's the best flavor of candy!

-Not sure why, but at that moment I thought : ''And I kinda prefer Milk Chocolate, Pinky Pie.'' ...and then I started wondering...

Have anyone ever made an ''Interview with Pinky Pie'' story ?
-That would be something surely pretty interesting to read. :)

...for the rest... Still not sure about Pinky Pie gaining her *Trademark* abilities THAT way, but, meh... and now Applejack ?
...ok, I guess ? All this seem to be aimed toward something, what?, that I don't know ?

    20. ...Pinky....with Magic.....explains so much.

    21. Uhh well, while the concept of how it fits INTO the existing episodes rather than adding a different event is quite lovely, and I really love the idea of attributing the earth ponies magical abilities (though I believe they still have some anyways by the Word of God, just less flashy than unicorns or pegasi), the stalling for time on the Pinkie's side looks a little forced and out of character, as well as the acceptance of thereof on Dash's part.

Still, an interesting concept, and one I'd love to see unveiling :)

      ReplyDelete
    22. @QuillShy

What do you mean by stalling?

      ReplyDelete
    23. @StoryBirth

The way Pinkie eludes bringing the issue up with Twilight.

Actually, you have come up with very plausible explanations as to why she does so, but it still feels a little bit like an author's whim rather than character's own volition. Maybe it's just that Pinkie, as far as I can see from the show, is the character that acts quite straightforwardly, albeit randomly, and generally can only keep something to herself only if while it is for some short-time goal (like keeping a surprise party a secret for its recipient :P).

So, I'd say, Pinkie could have kept her supposed curse secret from Twi, but then she should have had a clear goal in mind to do so. Well, maybe it's keeping the magic to herself, but she seems kind of doubtful about that herself.

What I want to say is that for me, some key is missing to link the characters actions to the actual mane cast of the show. It's not because the actions themselves are not written in a believable way, it's that I seem to miss clues (or even hints) as to why exactly they behave in this way, that seems a little different from the show canon.

Anyways, as I've said, I liked the cliffhanger ending of the second part, so I'm hoping to see further chapters and how the story will roll ;)

Thank you for your help. I intend to keep this in mind while writing future chapters and fics.

    25. I'm glad if I could help! *^_^* I actually only critique those pieces I like and wish to see them and their authors developing and progressing!

I'll be (hopefully) posting a few of my own fics here on EQDaily in a short while, so feel free to drop by and voice your opinion! I am actually very nervous about presenting my writings to the audience, but I firmly hope I will be able to take critique gracefully :P

      ReplyDelete
    26. Okay, that was creepy.

      ReplyDelete
    27. Whoah, these developments are quite surprising! :)

Love how you did the talk between Dash and AJ, though "Now so long, Rainbow." as the good-bye seemed a little too brash even for AJ :P

Pinkie on the cupboard reminded me of how cats perch on them. They hardly _rock_ them around, though, for which I guess we all cat-owners must be thankful :P Anyways, that was a delightfully fun scene, and the fact that Rarity decided to train Pinkie's magic as Pavlovian response through reinforcement worked to reinforce the hilarity as well *^^*

I must admit that Twilight seems awfully matter-of-fact about the possible fate of turning into sand, but maybe it can be ascribed to shock, or she is just THAT much of an egghead (and I say so with much love for that sort of people, mind you, being kinda one myself!) that she just sees the possibility as philosophical matter.

Anyways, I'll be waiting to see how they stem the tide of this unusual illness (hopefully! - BonBon is just too cute to become a pile of dust, if, of course, you are not aiming for grimdark :P)!

      ReplyDelete
    28. Something doesn't add up ?

How long is the incubation period of that sickness ?

Must be months, because... Didn't Pinky Pie got those *extra* magic powers shortly after Twilight got to Ponyville (if I recall correctly)...and in part2, Applejack mention that she got hers after the Applebucking Season ?

And if it's not MONTHS, then it's at least 1-to-a few weeks, at least...

So, they have time... I mean, only a hoof-full of ponies must have been originally infected... and other ponies must not have been hit all at the same time...

      ReplyDelete
    29. @Nova25

Well of course the incubation period lasts a long time. We still don't know how long Twilight Sparkle had it before she passed it to Pinkie. So yes. They have a lot of time.

But if Rarity is using Pinkie Pie to spread magic, who knows how far the sickness may spread? Maybe all across Equestria. So that's why it is a potential problem.

This will of course be mentioned in the next and unfortunately final chapter.

...Part 4 is the Final ?

Well, I suppose it will be somewhat long, to hold everything, and give a good conclusion to the whole thing ?

      ReplyDelete
    31. @Nova25

It'll be pretty long. Don't know how long yet, but it'll be pretty long.

As for a good conclusion. To be honest, this is my first fanfiction. I don't intend to use that as an excuse for any bad writing, but I've had thoughts about how to end this story and was overall unsure. Now I've finally made my mind up about it and I HOPE that you find it to be a good ending.

And by now you should realize it may not be an expected ending. After all, I seem to enjoy throwing twists and turns in my stories.

    32. Twilight seems mad. She has good reason!

      ReplyDelete
    33. OK, ending was disapoint. They're keeping the disease between them to keep the magic otherwise Twilight is 'useless'? Total betrayal of character.

      ReplyDelete
    34. So... if Twilight sucks without the disease, how do you explain how she got her cutie mark? Or what instead of magic her cutie mark represents? Even if she was infected right at that moment, wouldn't that mean there'd be a pile of lavender sand where a unicorn filly used to be just three months down the line?

Unless she contracted another disease that borked her magic around the time she contracted magic spurt and the two were cancelling out each other's symptoms, but that seems rather unlikely. Or... deliberate? Perhaps somepony wants Twilight out of the way? Intrigue!

Since this is the first fic you've finished, maybe it could also be the first to have a sequel, to clear these points up?

      ReplyDelete
    35. I was also a bit disappointed that Twilight was actually bad at magic without the disease. It would have been enough to just make her a bit worse, but still more than just an average unicorn. It is a nice idea, especially to explain pinkie pies powers in later episodes, but I would have kept the effects down a bit for Twilight. Otherwise, I think the disease would be too powerful - imagine a real powerful unicorn getting it and it could probably take down Celestia.

      ReplyDelete
    36. I thought the ending was not a good choice. Eliminating all usefulness Twilight had, (magic-wise) I believe was a mistake. Really didn't seem like something the characters would agree to do, putting themselves in constant danger, especially if they started turning into to sand when they were sleeping. That would end their fun pretty darn fast IMO.

      ReplyDelete
    37. Yeah, ending is a bit weak for the above mentioned reasons. Especially 1.44 AM anon's point regarding her cutie mark.

Overall, the whole thing wasn't terrible. Its obvious what you tried to do. If you enjoyed doing it, don't stop writing. Maybe get some proofreaders of your own to bounce ideas of off.

      ReplyDelete
    38. @Anonymous

Well, I don't want the story to drag on and on, so in the event that I do make a sequel, it'll probably just be one chapter to tie up all the loose ends I left out. Heck, I might just make one more extended chapter or something...

      ReplyDelete
    39. I have to say, I was tearing up during the pinkie pie party scene.

      ReplyDelete
    40. I would assume that Twilight is still good at magic without the disease, just not as good. If you suddenly found out that you were half as strong, you could still do a lot of the things you could before... it would just be twice as hard, so if you've gotten used to doing them with minimal effort, you wouldn't be able to do them right away if you're trying to use the same effort as before. Twilight probably could have managed the duplication spell anyway, after working at it a bit.

...That was probably too deep an analysis. I shouldn't have to build that much justification to be satisfied with the ending. So yeah, it could have been better. Still, not a bad showing at all for a first complete fanfic. You have learned important lessons this day that you can apply in the future (and I should stop trying to sound like a wise sage when I'm short on sleep).

      ReplyDelete
    41. That was a fun and interesting ending. :D But, I'm still not completely satisfied with that ending explanation.
