While I may have missed most of today's festivities due to school and such I can at least say good bye to the 3rd anniversary of FiM with the Roundup! It's been a wild ride folks, from amazing highs to depressing lows we've been at this pony thing for three whole years now.
It's been a truly wondrous experience to see how the fandom has evolved over time and yet still manages to have a good group of amazing people down at its core. From the early days when we were all getting our start on forums around the web, worrying if we'd get a season 2 to now when we are but a little more than a month out from the start of season 4 we've managed to stick together.
We may have our differences, and do get on each others nerves now and then, but we're all fans one way or another. Whether you celebrate that as an EqD reader, a 4channer, a KYMer, Derpiboorian, or what have you we are all in this together! So here is to another year friends, another step on our journey!
News time folks, check it after the break!
Nightmare Nights sent out a press release that announced... well, lots of things! This con is definitely worth a look. Lots of us at EQD will be there, including Seth, Cereal, and myself, and we've even got our own panel! Hope to see you there! And as always, release is below the break.
Every once in a while, something very... odd pops into the submit box that we honestly aren't sure what to do with, and this just happened to be one of them. A new pony dating site has popped up, complete with the usual bells and whistles something like that would include. You can find it over here!
So what do you all think of something like this? Hit those comments!
Comic: Twilight's First Day #15 / Applejack's Poison Joke / Setting the Scene / Blunderbolts Catastropheby Sethisto

Pre-episode reaction: "Uh oh, the next episode is called "The Cutie Mark Chronicles". Here comes another one about those obnoxious kids who won't shut up about their lack of butt symbol."
After the Hub Posts an Ending Poll and teaser: "Still too many kids, but this might be cool."
After the episode aired: 10/10 EPITOME OF PONY RARITY'S DESTINY IS A ROCK TWILIGHT WENT SUPER SAIYAN.
That's pretty much how this episode went down. Cutie Mark Chronicles had quite a bit of hype after The Hub tossed that ending poll up (even if it never had any kind of impact on the final outcome to begin with). We went from another episode about cutiemarkcutiemarkscutiemarkscutirmarks to Rainbow Dash exploding, Twilight shattering galaxies, and backstories with filly forms for all the main ponies. This right here was one of the best episodes of season one, if not the best. The amount of discussion afterward was staggering. Oh and this happened:
Twilight' beat even Fluttershy in the polls for cutest pony after that.
Anyway, get some Cutie Mark Chronicles below!
Replacer and Aviators? That's a pretty wild combo right there. Get that in the first slot, and in the second we have Sim Gretina teaming up with Kathy Chan for a bit of Daring Do! I honestly haven't seen much of that genre in pony yet. Both are below.
1.) Sim Gretina feat. Kathy-chan ★ - Daring Do
2.) You Found Me (feat. Replacer)
950 art posts since the beginning of FiM. I'd go do a bunch of math and find the average pictures per post, but I don't have time. Someone get on it and I'll include it tomorrow or something!
Onward to art. All below.

WTVY just loves reporting on us, and in honor of the 3rd Friendship is Magic anniversary, they ran a segment on pony art. I'll shut up and let you go check it out for yourself, head on over here for it!

Description: The price of growing up can be heavy. Growing up means making more decisions on your own, maintaining more responsibilities than ever, and learning things about yourself that you might never have imagined to be possible. As we grow, it becomes more apparent how important we are to the world, and how important the world is to us.To Weep for Family (New Part 3!)
For Twilight Sparkle, growing up doesn't just mean getting a crown and wings. Growing up means making decisions that will affect herself, her country, her friends, and her family more than she could ever know. These decisions aren't always easy, nor are they always fair, but they are necessary. Because without them, we'd never learn, and we'd never grow.

We have a couple of books this time around, or at least places to buy books. I think both of these have been mentioned at least once.
IDW's "The Magic Begins" book is now available for pre-order on Amazon. This one clocks in at 112 pages, and it's primary goal is to re-capture the series in book form. If you want a better preview than what Amazon provides, Comic Book Resources has a couple of pages up to check out over here.
And in the second slot, the 2009-2012 Collectors Inventory is now available over at Barnes and Noble. Both generatiosn are here, and it covers just about every official toy from the last few years. Get it here!
Thanks to Gregory, Micheal, and Roy G. Biv for the heads up!
Whether you're familiar with Star Trek: The Next Generation or not, you probably know that there's a character from that show named Q, played by John DeLancie, who more or less inspired the character of Discord, and definitely inspired the decision to have DeLancie voice him. In this video, ILoveKimPossibleAlot and special guest Normal Guy explain how Discord and Q are alike, for those of you who've been scratching their heads every time this "Q" guy gets brought up. Check it out after the break!
It's October 10th! Three years ago on this day, we saw the first episode of Friendship is Magic pop up, and you know the story from there.
So, be honest, what is your absolute favorite part of the pony phenomenon? Are you just here for the cute ponies? You can admit to it, I won't complain.
