• Newbie Artist Training Grounds XIII: Day 6

Finding your inner peace when there is chaos all around can be quite a difficult task. With the way things in the world seem to be going with mass media, social media and life in general blasting us all the time with things to cloud our thoughts it can be hard to find the harmony many of us take for granted. The same can truly be said for art, it takes a certain mindset, a determination that needs focus without outside interruption once you get into the zone. Finding your own path to harmony in chaos not only will help your craft but I am sure will make your life just a little bit easier as well.

Now, to get down to business, for today we managed to pull in 80 ponies which now brings us up to 425 ponies in total. Nicely done everyone!

So, while yesterday's prompt was more about peace and harmony, today's going to be one where you can take your practice at getting ponies moving and putting them to some practical use, or if action isn't your cup of tea, maybe something emotional to practice your expressions and mood for a scene. And to do that, I would like you to Draw a pony playing a sport / Draw a pony experiencing the bliss of triumph or the agony of defeat.

As always you can find the submitter here.

For our mobile friends trying to upload, try this:
Once you have the image uploaded to Twitter, DeviantArt, or wherever try this: Touch and hold the image. Depending on what browser you’re using, select the image URL by tapping the links below: Chrome: Copy link address Safari: Copy

Use that URL in the compiler for your image. Hopefully that works!

Max Image Resolution is 2000x2000! Resize your pictures to make sure they are the appropriate size, any image software should be able to help you.

Animations do not animate when sent through the compiler! Include some text with your submitted animation that people should follow your links to the source to see the animation in full.

Remember, our compiler for the old prompt is up a few hours even after this post goes up with the new prompt so feel free to submit your submission to the previous day's submitter!

Also, if you are late submitting and the submitter is closed, don't just throw your pic into the next day's submitter. Wait for a Makeup Day to submit!

  • "A Day In The Life" of Cort Lane, Executive Producer of My Little Pony: Make Your Mark

In the June/July 2023 issue of Animation Magazine, there's a page showing what a typical work day is like for My Little Pony: Make Your Mark executive producer Cort Lane. This is the only article about My Little Pony in this issue of the magazine.

As it turns out, on that day he had meetings and video calls, and did a final review of the "Bridlewoodstock" special.

  • My Little Pony - Make Your Mark Chapter 4 - Episode 2 - Top Remodel - Discussion

They are all already created and ready to go at 3:00 PM PST every day, so expect to discuss G5 at that time unless something else comes in and bumps the posts around!

Today we tackle Top Remodel. What did you think of it? Go discuss it in the comments!

  • The Reddit Blackout - What You Should Know and Why the Pony Subreddits Are Gone

If you haven't been paying attention to the dumpsterfire that is Reddit's new changes, you are probably wondering why the larger pony subreddits are currently privated and closed off. Last week the CEO of Reddit came out and said that they'd start charging for usage of their API, similar to what Twitter is doing under Elon Musk. Like Twitter, the cost is essentially a death sentence for anyone using 3rd party apps (EQD included, where I have to do anything Twitter related by hand now that our compilers won't work with Twitter). The current Reddit app is a low-feature, ad filled piled of junk, so this turned out to effect a large part of the userbase.

In response to this, hundreds of large subreddits have gone dark for two days including /r/mylittlepony and /r/MLPLounge. The plan is to return on the 15th after they've spread awareness at this change.

Obviously, Reddit is a company and needs to make money, but Redditors who have budgeted out why this change was made (while comparing it to sites like Imgur) have come to the conclusion that this is simply a way to destroy 3rd party apps and get everyone using the in-house Reddit one, with a side hustle of monetizing companies like OpenAI using it to build their LLM's.  The same style of API usage over on Imgur is pennies compared to the millions it would take to run with Reddits new nonsense.
