And so another year of the Newbie Artist Training Grounds comes to an end! I want to thank everyone who managed to participate this year, even if it was for a single day. You who participated at the very least decided to try something new, improve on what you already knew and strived to test your determination by doing as many prompts as possible! I'm so very proud of all of you and I can't wait to see you again next year.

In the end, we achieved 2495 ponies drawn in total! Nicely done everyone!

Well everyone, here we finally are: Day 30! It has been a long yet somehow quick month. I'm sure you all are feeling tired but I hope at the same time you're feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. You've all come such a long way and I have been blown away by your dedication and your creativity. While this may be the end of the NATG take what you've learned here, spread your wings and keep on this journey you've set yourselves on.

As with every NATG you probably already know what to expect from the prompt for tonight: Draw a pony graduating / Draw a pony moving towards a bright future.

Coming home, especially after being away for so long. It's a wonderful feeling being back in the place you belong and as our journey here at the NATG quickly comes to an end I hope you find the same sort of comfort when the event is over. You've all done so well and I couldn't be more proud of you.

As always with the last couple prompts, tonight we are bringing back an old favorite that we have done for years now. For you veterans out there you know what is coming. That's right! While failure is something we all dread, it's what we do with our failures that matter. Do we let it consume us to the point where it interferes with our lives or do we learn from the experience and allow it to let us grow? Only you can do what you will with your own failures, I just hope you all do what is right for you.

With day 28 staring us in the face, this will be the last of our normal prompts before we wrap things up with our two classic prompts we end every NATG with. It's time for your NATG journeys to wrap up, you're almost home free! That is why for tonight I'd like you to Draw a pony on the last leg of its journey / Draw a pony coming home.

Trying new things requires a bit of courage, a willingness to know that what you getting involved with might be hard at first and that there might be frustration involved. You need to be able to push through the initial pain and keep striving to improve. In the end, even if you find out the thing you tried isn't to your liking at least you gave it a fair shot and that is what matters.

Well, as long as you don't end up hurting yourself like Trixie.

Tying into the idea of new things being hard and frustrating tonight's prompt is something important I think all people, artists or no, need to learn to deal with. Regardless of how good you are at something you are going to end up failing at times. But even in failure, it is important to remember to not dwell on the failure itself and instead turn it into an experience you can learn from. That's why for tonight I'd like you to Draw a pony experiencing failure / Draw a pony tasting bitter defeat.

Sometimes being impulsive can be a good thing if directed towards the right goal. Some of you when this event was announced I'm sure saw it and decided on the spot that it was something you were going to do, no real preparation save for a desire to draw. Art can be the same way, a sudden impulse to draw something that pops into your mind, driving you to complete it, a sense of accomplishment when that sudden idea is down on paper. While this event has been tiring I hope you all have managed to feel the rush of acting on your artistic impulses.

For today our prompt ties into a little bit of what I said before. For a fair number of you, art is something new and exciting, this event maybe being the first time you've actually ever drawn and even for veterans I see them trying new things to expand their horizons. That's why for today I want to you Draw a pony trying something new / Draw a pony reaching for new heights.

Good evening, gang! Welcome to another day of the NATG! Hopefully you all had fun with this prompt over the past 24 hours, it was certainly fun seeing all of the different holidays you enjoy and the different ponies getting their groove on. Thanks once again for sharing a little bit about yourself if that was the part of the prompt you chose this time around!

As for the prompt tonight, we know that ponies don't always plan things through, just like people. They can be rash, make bad decisions and do some very silly things. With all of our ponies going for gold know that you all are doing the same thing as well! We're quickly approaching the end of this year's NATG and for all of you who have participated, even for a day, you've done your best to get better or at least try out something new. Hopefully, once all is said and done, you'll walk away feeling proud of what you've accomplished.

Now that the July 4th holiday is approaching, I figured we'd try another prompt that would let you share a little bit about yourself with everyone yet again. Like with the seasons, most of us have a favorite holiday of some sort so for today's prompt I want you to Draw a pony celebrating your favorite holiday / Draw a pony being the life of the party.

Nothing wrong with an innocent prank as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, right? Still, make sure you don't take them too far and end up getting pranked back even harder like Rainbow Dash.

One of the things I've always loved about pony art is that it is incredibly varied. By this point in the NATG, with our variety of prompts, you've hopefully seen that ponies can fit into all sorts of scenarios. Whether it is the epic, the silly, the heartwarming, the sad, ponies tend to fit in anywhere without it seeming out of place. Hopefully, the versatility of ponies will serve you all well into the future!

While our ponies do like to get along and cooperate, there is also a sense of competition between our pastel-colored ponies. They want to be the best and show others they are the best, especially certain orange and blue colored ponies. That's why for tonight we want our ponies to be at their best as you Draw a pony winning a competition / Draw a pony going for gold.

Sometimes it can be easy to get lost in your thoughts, wondering what the future will bring, what would have happened if things in your life were different or just imagining the cool story you've been working on in your head for a while now. Imagination is a powerful thing and an important tool for an artist, a reason why I keep at least some of our prompts vague in the NATG. If you were given nothing but specific prompts how can your imagination run wild?

Speaking of the prompts, tonight's is one I think is a bit more straightforward yet also one I hope you'll be able to employ your creativity to complete! We're going to have a little fun tonight as I want you to Draw a pony pulling a prank / Draw a pony pulling the wool over someone's eyes!

Here we are, it's back to the grind everyone! I really hope you all managed to either get some rest or were able to catch up on prompts. I saw a lot of you submitting multiple prompts today which couldn't have been easy, but I am really proud of the effort of your effort as you tried to catch up. Well done!

As we move into the last ten-ish days or so prompts certainly get harder for me to write as I want to keep things interesting and varied without too many repeats from the years before. Hopefully, you'll all still enjoy as we start to wrap things up! I know that feeling, Octavia. Nothing like getting ready for some big presentation and watching the clock slowly tick down till when you're supposed to present. An awful feeling I've managed to get a little better at, but the nerves still get to me. Hopefully the NATG, even with its deadline, hasn't been too stressful on you all. While the deadline is meant to challenge you I do try to be flexible so that it doesn't cause too much stress.

Speaking of stress, I know you all have been stressed for energy after these 20 days so I really hope that today's Makeup Day will help recharge your batteries. Here we are everyone: Day 20! Can you believe we've already made it 2/3 of the way through the NATG already? A lot can change in such a short period of time, life its own adventure as it takes us in directions that we never really expected. Myself, for instance, did not suspect I would be hired on as a teacher when this event began but now I'm on the verge of signing a contract to teach full time in the fall. Take advantage of the opportunities that life throws at you while surviving through the pitfalls that pop up along the way. Just remember: we're all in this together!

Now that we are on Day 20 that means we have a new Makeup Day coming at you tomorrow! Hopefully, it will be a chance for you all to get caught up or take some much-needed rest. We still have one more prompt till we get there though and I'm sure it is a feeling some of you are familiar with if you've been participating in the NATG up to this point: Draw a pony procrastinating / Draw a pony with no time to spare.

The older we get the more memories we accumulate in this adventure called life. Some of them are good, some of them are bad, but let's just hope that the ones we do remember tend to be more on the positive side. Hopefully participating in the NATG will be a good memory for all of you!

Now onto Day 19 everyone! Thanks for sharing your most precious memories with us all if you did end up sharing. As I mentioned above life is an adventure and while our ponies do have their slice of life moments, they also have plenty of chances for doing something epic! It's why it can be hard to find what inspires us the most when we seek to do the things we love. When you find the thing that is your muse make sure to hold on to it tight and use it to propel you to ever greater heights.

Welcome to another day of the NATG everyone! For tonight's prompt I wanted to give you all a chance to share a little bit more of yourselves since you all had so much fun making crossovers with your favorite media a couple days back. Today we're getting a bit nostalgic as I would like you to Draw a pony experiencing your most cherished memory / Draw a pony living life to the fullest!

So many tired ponies! Thank goodness it is the weekend so they have a chance to start resting up a little bit. Still, the NATG presses on and it isn't the time to rest despite what our ponies may portray. While I know some of you are getting wary, know that the next Makeup Day is right around the corner and so is a well-deserved rest if you need it. Hang in there everyone!

While at times we end up with our batteries drained with little idea of what to do and little motivation to go on sometimes we can dig deep into ourselves and pull ourselves up. A sudden burst of energy, motivation and a will to go on! While you and our ponies may sometimes feel defeated look for that flame inside you to keep pushing forward! That's why for tonight's prompt I would like you to Draw a pony being inspired / Draw a pony beating impossible odds!

I always have a lot of fun with this prompt. It's always great to see what you all are into, getting a sneak peek into what you all enjoy outside of art is a blast and I admit that I get exposed to a few new things when I see what you've all drawn. Thank you all very much for sharing your faves! I hope you managed to find some new things to check out yourself.

Now that the NATG is half over I'm sure quite a few of you are feeling a little tired from all of the practice you have done over the past twoish weeks. I'm so proud of you all for hanging in there so far and I know you can make it to the end! Looks like it's my turn to break a rule! How could I pass up the opportunity? Now that I've gotten that bit of nefariousness out of my system, welcome everyone to the halfway point of the NATG! I've been so proud to see so many of you stick it out so far and now we're already racing towards the finish. I know you can all do it!

While the point of the NATG is to get you all drawing art isn't the only goal. Art is a means of expressing yourself, showing us what you're feeling, what you like or just whatever creative spark makes you put pencil to paper. That's why for tonight we're bringing back an old favorite as a bit of a treat for you all so you can have a chance to let us all know a little bit about yourself! Good evening once again everyone! Looks like we managed to get quite a few ponies either trying to enjoy the weather or escape depending on their heat tolerance. Hopefully, this prompt gave you a little more experience with scenery as well as a chance to mess with lighting! I'm really happy to see you all putting in a good effort to expand your scenes beyond just our ponies, but don't fret if you're not quite there yet; you'll get there!

For our next prompt we're going to change things up a bit again! While our ponies are usually paragons of good there are some bad eggs out there that can cause quite a bit of trouble out there in Equestria. That's why for tonight we're going to have some fun exploring the dark side as I want you to Draw a pony up to no good / Draw a pony breaking every rule in the book.
