• Nightly Roundup #772

There was some desire for a Kingdom Hearts related header recently so I thought I would oblige. It's been years since I've played that series I must admit! Hope you all are having fun with the new HD release as well as GTA guys!

    Now, on to the news!

  • Story: An Apple Comes Out of the Cellar

[Comedy] "This story gets just a little racy, but I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. Granny Smith needs to be used in comedy more often." -Pre-reader who likes sky pirates

    Author: Seether00
Description: Applejack has never missed a meal on purpose before, let alone a Pie Day dinner – that glorious day of the week serving Granny's famed hot, fresh apple pie. So why was Applejack absent at the dining table today, of all days? Little does the rest of the family know, Applejack's a lot closer than they think – she's in her bedroom, nervously pacing around and building up the courage to perform the single hardest thing she's ever done.

What is this herculean task that not even Applejack can overcome?

    Being honest…

  • Artist Spotlight: AssasinMonkey / Holivi / PeterParkerWorks / Xiao668

Artists, regardless of their field, are what make this fandom go round! Welcome once again to yet another edition of the Artist Spotlight. We've got some amazing artists for you all to check out today so make sure to check them out after the break!

As usual, these posts are in similar style to the Tumblr Spotlights, a group of 3-4 artists will be spotlit each entry along with a small short description along with a small selection of their artwork! In order to make this feature work though we need people to suggest artists to us so make sure to send artists you think need some exposure to [email protected]. Please also include a short biography I can work with as well as what medium you work in most.

What sort of artists count? Suggestions should follow these criteria:
    • No clop or extensive gore galleries as those typically violate our content guidelines. If the artist has a safe for work gallery separate from their not safe for work stuff they or their fans can submit the safe for work gallery. If there is a mix of SFW/NSFW on a gallery the decision whether or not to include them will be judged on a gallery to gallery basis.
    • Don't be afraid to spotlight yourself as well as others!
    • Artists of all types accepted -vector, OC, traditional, digital. As long as it is pony and of quality it has a chance of being spotlit.
    Now on to the artists!

  • 2/66 Days of Pony - Friendship is Magic Part 2

Friendship is Magic part 2 may not have had a very inventive name, but it was definitely the major seller of the series for a lot of people. The amount of pony avatars on message boards and steam profiles after it aired was staggering.   It even introduced the first song, Giggle At the Ghosties, which ended up silently playing on computer speakers and mp3 players everywhere for weeks.

This episode was actually what got me going on the series.  When someone first sent me the link to part one all those years ago, I only watched it to roughly the halfway point before shutting for the sake of my masculinity.  Colorful girly ponies with characters like Rarity obsessed with making everyone look pretty? Right after that my little pony jingle? I couldn't do it.

    Then this happened:

And while I was still a bit shaken up from that earlier completely ridiculous scene of Applejack dropping Twilight for no good reason at all,  it was quickly followed up with this:

Game over.  I was sold.  Pony Pony Pony Pony Pony.

Anyway, get episode 2 below the break! And for those that have no clue at all what this is, find the description here!

  • Spotlight Music: Pieces of Me / A Crystal Heart

Pony music needs more Derpy, and this fandom needs more mid 2000's style rock music. I remember when the mainstream channels on the radio weren't dominated by a bunch of rap and hip hop. Good times...  And thank Celestia for playlists and mp3 files!  Oldschool commercial filled Radio is pretty outdated now days anyway isn't it?

Anyway, slot number two has a bit of piano music for those of you that are in the mood for a more classical vibe.  Get them both below!

    2.) ImTheMoon - A Crystal Heart

  • Enterplay Facebook Page Confirms Series 3 Cards on the Way

Just in case you were worried that the trading card game would get in the way of the collector series, Enterplay has put those fears to rest with a quick response to a Facebook private message (and later confirmed via another pm).

What would you all like to see in this set?    We had villain focused cards last time around, meaning they appear to be much more open to than the old says of series one.   Hit the comments up with your ideas!

Thanks to Jeremy for the heads up.
  • Drawfriend Stuff #930

This game has been on my to do list for so long.   One of these days Journey...  I'm going to play you.

Onward to art! Get it all below.

It's not often we have Gilda headers and ever rarer when we have great Gilda plushies! She looks fantastic! I know a certain commenter that is going to be quite happy about this selection.

Piles of pony plushies pouncing on you guys! After the break!

  • Winged Socks at Hot Topic

Hot Topic has expanded their selection of pony themed socks with new ones adorned with wings.  I'm not sure how long something like that would last in a washing machine, but you can always hand wash them I guess!

Find them at the following links:

    Rainbow Dash
    Pinkie Pie

Thanks to  BF4pony for the heads up.

  • Rumor: Nightmare Nights Gamer Pics on the Way

There isn't any official confirmation on these as of yet, but someone digging through the files with a gamer picture manager found some new avatars buried within.   Chances are we can expect these to come out closer to the actual date.  I know I wouldn't mind some Derpy with paper bags or that Cleopatra pony.

  • Comic: How The Cracker Crumbles / Horns / Morning With Princess Applejack

Man, since EqG Trixie sure does love her peanut butter crackers. I guess it is an upgrade from all the pine cones she ate previously though! And just about the same amount of fiber!

Time for comics guys, click for full.

  • Game: Zapple Hill

Did you play Super Mario RPG back in the day?  Feel like a bit of nostalgia?  Someone has made a new game based on Booster Hill, with timberwolf stomping and rock jumping galore.  Find it over here! Thanks to Tuxxy for the heads up.
  • Nightmare Nights Announces Jayson Thiessen

Esteemed director Jayson Thiessen has been added to the roster for the upcoming Nightmare Nights con in November.  If you want information on how you can go meet the guy, head on down below the break for all the usual convention information.

  • Brony Thank You Fund Competing in Under Armor Next Generation Charity Challenge

We have some news straight out of Brony Thank You Fund for all you charity buffs out there.   I'll skip the break, since it's a short one:
