• Brony Changes His Name To Fluttershy

Is changing your name in other counties similar to changing your steam name or something?   I am amazed that this is even allowed :p

This brony over on Ponychan is now officially named Kim Fluttershy Dykas.

I really hope this pony thing isn't over in two years for "Rainbow Alexi Dash" and this guy.

    1. Well first a couple things, Kim can be male or female, one of my family memebers is a male Kim here is the good old usa. Now as for naming, i'm gonna agree that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy aren't good real world names, i could see someone named Celestia, or Luna, maybe even Rairity, and mayb a Pinkmina Diane Pie but not Pinky as a first name.

Sorry if I made you upset. I wasn't crying I was mad.

As is said: I am going to bed now before I piss even more people off.

    3. Okay, this is a little weird. I still think that "Rainbow Alexsi Dash" is an awesome name though.

      ReplyDelete
    4. I wasn't complaining about that. I was complaining about him trying to both defend what he did and apologize for it.

That said, he has since apologized, so I can't complain much.

As much as this fandom reminds me of the furs sometimes, the love and tolerance ideals always seem to make everything come out rosy. Love you all.

Stop being so tolerant god damn my heart is going to explode.

    6. Name change is actually pretty easy, apparently.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Name_change#United_States

I kind of understand the dislike of name changes, but at the same time, really not a big deal. Just like Christians deal with stupid Christians, and I deal with stupid gamers, and we all deal with creepy bronies who draw disturbing fan art... they do what they want. I can deal with people thinking I'm weird for being part of a fandom with some extreme members.

And, if I had thought if it first, I would've changed my name to Rainbow Dash (in fact I have acquired it as a nickname at school). Sadly none of the other names have the same appeal...

I'm 100% with The Linker on this one. You have an opinion. Fine. You don't like what this guy did. Fine. You want to (childishly) quit the fandom of something you like because of the decision of someone you don't know. Fine. Don't be a dick about it though... Is what I would say. Then I remembered that I'm on the internet and for every nice person there are at least 2 assholes. So, say, act, and think what you will. Just know you're being an ass about it.

    10. @Pegasi
Crap! Sorry, I didn't see you had already apologized for being an ass! Sorry for reacting too soon!

    11. everything went better than expected.
but I can't shake the feeling that comment-arguments like these shouldn't happen... I miss the old days already and it's only been 1,5 months.
      It worries me, really.

      ReplyDelete
    12. i think you people should take a strong hard look at yourselves?

is this what you want your fandom to become? a breeding ground for people so fucking worried about their public appearance that they will bash anyone who does something like this?

what does it matter to you that Kim changed his name to Kim Fluttershy? you make it sound like the end of the world!

you know what kills the mood of these fandoms? people freaking out at everything, nopony has fun anymore and people are scared to express any opinion or do anything cool.

I for one support Fluttershy's decision, it was brave, it's original to everyone, and he still has the option of being referred to as kim in formal and business settings.

Now i want you to remember to be nice, and to think about your behavior.

      ReplyDelete
    13. I'm glad the rage seems to be calming down. Really wasn't a cause for that amount of internet butthurt over this, guys.

You can disagree with it. I'm sure a lot of people do. No one is saying, "You HAVE to support his decision or you're a terrible person." At least they shouldn't be. Just try not to be so freaking pissed off at something so minor in the grand scheme of things. That and tone down the mean level. This really doesn't affect anyone but this guy.

As for how others view the community...really? Before this happened people took the fact that adults (mostly males) were into a show targeted at little girls, merged it with the old stereotype of the unemployed nerd living in their parent's basement without actually doing any research into why adults might like it, and poof, instant funny story about weirdoes for lols. This won't really make things worse. It's already weird. Who the heck cares?

Plus, this guy is under no obligation to present themselves appropriately as a representative of "The Fandom" like it's some sort of serious organization. Really? Come on guys. For people who don't like it when others take their love of the series too seriously, you are kind of taking it seriously yourself there.

To Kim Fluttershy: Kudos to you and your decision. You'll get no hate from me. Sorry you got so much of it over something like this. Hopefully you at least realized posting something like this would bring out some haters and were prepared for a bit of flaming.

Enjoy your name. I think it's kinda neat even if I wouldn't do it myself. I like it. Stay chill, Flutter-bro.

      ReplyDelete
    14. I don't get why any female doesn't do this. I'd kill to date a flutter shy. :(

    15. @Fluttershy

You know what? Good for you. I'm not going to comment on the strangeness of wanting to have a pony's name as a middle name, but I will say this: People say that doing what you and Rainbow Alexi Dash did is incredibly stupid, but I say that you can't be stupid enough to do that without having a crapload of bravery to back it up. To do such a crazy and unaccepted thing just because you want to- that takes major brony balls, man. Sure, it may give the media outlets more "ammunition," but I say screw 'em. Who are they to judge other people's actions? Is it illegal? No. Was anyone hurt? No. They shouldn't care; they're just being pointlessly mean if they single you out. Again, good for you and good luck in life, Fluttershy. (Okay, a little weird calling you that, but it's your name...kinda)

    16. @Pegasi & Aquaman52:

I apologize for the lateness in which I am replying, but I was unable to get to a computer for the past hour or so.

Part of me had a feeling that I would get nipped in the flank for that comment. You are right. I did not tolerate as I should have and I am sorry. I know you aren't expected to love and tolerate and I'm fairly sure you're only saying that you yourself do not approve. It's your own opinion and I now realize and respect that.

One of the big problems here is that getting on one person's case for not tolerating something is in itself not tolerating the other person's intolerance. It's a never ending loop that simply tolerating and moving on without saying anything solves fairly well. This all lies on the foundation that the person who is not being tolerated is able to just move on as well.

To amend my first statement, I'd only like to say that I only have a problem against those who think they have the right to deny another person to do something else. It's one thing to dislike what someone has done and another to try to stop them from doing so.

      ReplyDelete
    17. Where does the skepticism go? >_>

      ReplyDelete
    18. Flamewars (if this can be called such) can only be constructive if someone backs down, whatever their opinion was.

Glad to see we achieved that. Truly the best possible outcome.

      ReplyDelete
    19. Seth, can you please write Rainbow (Aleksi) Dash' name correctly? It's NOT with an "x" but with a "ks".

No real opinion on these guys. On one hand I think it's too extreme to change your name to match a fictional charachter's but on the other I'm not going to be affected nor do I know either of them.

      ReplyDelete
    20. Completely off-topic, but do the ladies get a special name? or do they just prefer to go under the brony flag for unity's/ease of use's sake?

    21. @Anonymous

Lol, I just re-read my post wondering what you were talking about, and dang, you've got a point. Seems I'm a real Brony Alamo.

Then again, the show is full of so many lessons and examples, that sometimes I just gotta do what Twilight did in Feeling Pinkie Keen and hop up on a soapbox to-DARNIT I'M DOING IT AGAIN.

That's it. Self intervention time. I'm gonna go medicate on some Transformers: Prime, and hopefully return to safe Brony levels by Monday.

    22. Funny, I was just at the Alamo, and I was wondering what colorful ponies were doing there...

    23. Damn.. I've been beaten to it.

    24. Fluttershy, I 100% support your decision to change your name. Just because the vast majority people don't view "Fluttershy" as a name that falls within societal norms is no reason to broadcast untold amounts of rage against them.

So you don't like the name? Is it because it isn't George or Steve? It could just as easily have been that Smith is "weird" name that no one thinks is normal for people to have, while "Rainbow" is.

I don't think just because a name was used in a show or a work of fiction that the name in question should be retired and not allowed to ever be used by anyone again, there wouldn't be any names left!

All of my hugs to Fluttershy for standing tall with the courage to do this and put up with the bullshit he's getting from people.

Have your opinions and disagree if you want, but don't force your will on him and say he needs to change it back because "it might make us look bad". If anything that's way more out of line than a simple name change is.

Fluttershy I'm proud of you for standing up and showing your love, even if it is a way most consider unconventional. I wouldn't change my name myself, but like I said I 100% support and standby your decision to do it.

      ReplyDelete
    25. I'm considering changing my legal name now. Legadema [pony name]Cinderheart. Now to choose the right pony...maybe Applejack?

      ReplyDelete
    26. The whole time I was reading through the comment war, I couldn't help but imagine Fluttershy in the background saying "wait" a la the Manticore battle. Along with an "oh... my".

I hope in the future we can avoid internal fighting, it makes me sad. There really isn't a reason to have dissent over a simple name change.

      ReplyDelete
    27. There are people who think the name change is awesome.

There are people who think it was stupid.

There are people demanding he change his name back to avoid "tarnishing our already stellar and respectable public image"

There are people like me who think fighting over it is a smidgemeter over board. Everypony chill, pretty please?

      ReplyDelete
    28. You know, as a fan of anime, Dungeons and Dragons, superheroes, Star Trek, Star Gate, Star Wars, Pokemon, Sentai, Street Fighter, videogames in general, and now a brony, I have this to say. No matter what, people that aren't a part of your group are going to have negative stereotypes about your 'fringe' group, even if it's hundereds/thousands/millions strong. These people changing their names doesn't effect us, and if it makes people make assumptions about us, then it just proves they're idiots. Trust me, the less they actually know about the fandom, the sillier their accusations sound.

Trixie was basically a con artist.
Gilda was a thief and all around jerk.

Show teaches love and tolerance in many ways, accepting others whom are different is taught in the episode: "Bridle Gossip" - wherein ponyville citizens prejudge zecora and claim she is an evil enchantress only because she is a bit different.

lying or enlarging the truth to gain something isn't a good or decent thing to do as was in Trixie's case.

and Gilda well.... i didn't even think someone could try to justify Gilda...

All my opinion but i thought most people would agree with this logic?

      ReplyDelete
    31. I should have done that! I still got Scootaloo to put in my middle name

      ReplyDelete
    32. Maybe I should change my name to Derpy Hooves to weed out the people who never really cared about this fandom; and just wanted to be in it because it was "cool" at the time. Ya'll say you're done with this fandom every damned time something you don't even remotely agree with pops up, and nothing of value was lost.

      ReplyDelete
    33. Well, if it's a chick, Fluttershy is a good pick but for a guy, not so much... e_e

      ReplyDelete
    34. You surrendered caring about what others think when you accepted that you like the show.

      ReplyDelete
    35. There's nothing wrong with anything, unless you make it seem that way. It's all in your minds. People saying they are the weirdos are the real weirdos. See what I just did there?

    36. I MUST MAKE HASTE BEFORE ANYPONY CLAIMS PINKAMENA [name] PIE

      ReplyDelete
    37. @Cameron

You know, I have to disagree with this, partially just to play devil's advocate and partially because I actually do disagree with it somewhat.

To me, this is akin to saying that liking anything that the grand majority of society doesn't instantly makes me someone who doesn't care what society thinks about me. That's a very close-minded way of living life, in my opinion; in fact, it's almost an insult to fans of the show. By telling bronies that they're no longer allowed to care about what others think about you, you're essentially telling them that they're required to label themselves in their own minds as social pariahs. To put things more simply, you're being a Gilda: someone who demands that their friends give up their old lives before you allow them to live a slightly different one with you.

I'll admit that there are some parts of this fandom--as there are with any fandom, I'd like to emphasize--that I don't wish to be associated with by virtue of my being a part of said fandom. Am I aware that there are many people who will judge me based purely on the fact that I watch the show in the first place? Of course. And I don't, nor should I, really give two bits about what they think, seeing as I don't know them and I wouldn't want to if they would judge anyone that quickly, let alone me. But extending that very selective mentality to every single person on the face of the earth is excessive. Like it or not, there are people on this whose opinions matter to me, and if they thought worse of me because of my affection for this show, I would want to correct that as soon as possible. If that requires distancing myself from people who are willing to go to these kinds of lengths to prove their love for the show, I'm willing to, at the very least, say, "Yeah, some people do that and that's their choice, but I'm not one of them and I hope you understand that."

tl;dr liking something weird doesn't require you to let that weird thing completely define how you interact with other people. That's just silly.

      ReplyDelete
    38. @Wheelworld Actually Trixie is a pretty common name. Not so common if someone adds "The Great and Powerful"

      ReplyDelete
    39. Middle name, who cares.
Can change it back whenever the hell he wants easily, good.

There are obsessive people in EVERY. FUCKING. FANDOM. Get over it.

Seth, even though you post everything, I suggest that you just skip over it when something like this happens again. It creates too much hate and division within the fandom. Just let 'em be.

      ReplyDelete
    40. You know what's weird? I've seen at least eight or so comments out of the last forty screaming about how everyone who doesn't like the fact that this brony changed his name to Fluttershy needs to just STFO and GFTO...and yet I'm pretty sure I'm the only person left here who actually opposes it.

Judging by the comments, it sounds like every single one of the 200 before this page were calling for Kim's head on a silver platter.

      ReplyDelete
    41. eh, it's not a total obsession until they fly to brazil for plastic surgery..

      ReplyDelete
    42. I agree to an extent with Aqua, that we aren't required to not have any pride or just not care what anyone thinks, but at the same time, it isn't close-minded at all.

Not caring if people hate you for stupid reasons doesn't make you close-minded at all. It would be different if you just dismissed them and they have legit criticism, but there is none for liking a show. Or if people are telling you to never listen to anyone at all. Telling someone that you shouldn't care about haters isn't requiring them to change their LIFE. How did you even come to that conclusion? That's taking that argument both to the extreme and out of context.

Like any fandom, you are associated with all its members in that they are all doing things for this community, but that doesn't mean that one thing or another that someone does defines the entire fandom. There is only one thing that does, and that is the common thread in the whole thing: the show.

      ReplyDelete
    43. WHY!?!?!!?!?

Why can't *I* live in a country that lets you change your name so easily!?

That's what makes me so f'ing mad -- that I can't do the same thing!!!!

      ReplyDelete
    44. @Bashfluff

I mentioned in my comment that not caring about the opinions of people who would judge you for, as you said, "stupid reasons" was fine. The way Cameron wrote his comment seemed to imply that being a brony meant you "surrendered" your right to care about what anyone thought about you. That was what I was arguing against.

      ReplyDelete
    45. Actually, you really shouldn't care too much about society anyway, because society is frequently unjust and unfair for little to no reason. Not listening to society doesn't mean having no morals either.

      ReplyDelete
    46. @Bashfluff

"Not depending on for satisfaction in life" ≠ "not caring about". There are a great many things in life that require you to, at the very least, tolerate society in general. Employment, for example.

      ReplyDelete
    47. Isn't one of the key lessons to most anything is not to care about people think of you as long as your happy?

Plus, I think he meant something along the lines of: "You are part of a fandom that a lot of people are going to hate by default. Trying to say that by selecting what you want in that fandom is going to improve its reputation is just stupid. You lose the right to be offended of the image something in the fandom puts forth because you are a part of the fandom."

      ReplyDelete
    48. I don't mean fuck society. I mean fuck how society views you whenever you can, because it's invalid. Yeah, you do have to tolerate some things about it, but that doesn't mean you have to do that in every case.

      ReplyDelete
    49. "I really hope this pony thing isn't over in two years for "Rainbow Alexi Dash" and this guy."

This is why people do this, and get tattoos, and stuff. It makes it a part of you forever. And now I want to do something like this myself, now that I've thought about it that way. I should probably get some sleep.

      ReplyDelete
    50. You know, I honestly wouldn't mind changing my name to something like that, if only to mess with the government. I'd still use my real name with my friends/family, but I'd have to write down somepony's name on any official stuff. Unfortunately, I;m in and out of the hospital too much for that not to become awkward.

      ReplyDelete
    51. Brilliant well done fellow brony

      ReplyDelete
    52. When people change their name or get a tattoo or something, it is because they want to be connected to the feeling it gives them forever. They cant to carry it as an actually part of themselves. I can understand why they do it.

And now I am feeling tempted to do it as well. I should probably get some sleep.

      ReplyDelete

      "Way to go!"

      ReplyDelete
    58. Considering that in America you can name kids "Charity" or "Hope" or something like that, "Fluttershy" is hardly worse... Any Americans posting here, you've got your own score of completely fucked-up names. Pots and kettles.

      ReplyDelete
    59. Hmm...

I think the name Rainbow Aleksi Dash was going a bit too far. But changing your middle name doesn't seem as bad. This is far better name chice than the previous one.

But it's still a bit stupid idea in my opinion. But on the other hand, tattooing and piercing yourself all over is a stupid idea too, and people do that too.

In the end, who will get hired? The guy with his face full of metal and skin filled with tattoos, or the guy whose middle name is Fluttershy?

      ReplyDelete
    60. I wonder how easy this is to do in the US, I might have to get around to changing my name to Kujii PinkiePie Tetsuiga already.

I needed a middle name for this persona anyway.

      ReplyDelete
    61. @Kujii

Well as far as I see from other posts, it's not as easy and it costs money over in the States.

However, if you feel its worth it then of course go for it! :)

    62. I can really understand the amount of discomfort that a some of the users are feeling. It is very unfortunate to be judged with bias due to what a majority of the fanbase partaken, but what this guy did isn't a big deal compared to...others, it's not hurting anyone. Unlike those guys who write 2nd person "sensual" fiction and anything 'NSFW' involving the CMC..not to mention all those drawings...and and
What was I getting at again?

      Whatever, good for you, Brony.

    63. Once again Seth,
If i said i changed my name to Twilighr Sparkle

      Well apparently yes -.-
At least put it in nightly roundup instead of giving it it's own post

      ReplyDelete

      ReplyDelete
    65. @ Anonymous saying that Seth posts this without proof, yes that COULD be true. But I have sworn to provide images of both my Visa/bank card (with numbers and pictures censored) and passport (also somewhat censored)

      No worries!
I do not doubt that Rainbow Aleksi Dash is his name, but he haven't provided any proof. But considering how easy it is to do it up here in Europe, he most certainly has done it!

      ReplyDelete
    66. @Aquaman52

To try and make yourself appear "normal" while liking my little pony is to defeat the purpose of this whole ordeal, which is to rid ourselves of notions of "normality".

Time and time again revolutions against the norm has become the norm, the imposing superior cliche to which others must abide. And the cycle starts over and nothing was really accomplished. Gays become accepted, you shun the transexuals, etc.

Not this time, this time we break normality forever.

      ReplyDelete
    67. Hate to be the one pointing this out again, but I have the same issue as I had with the RainbowDash dude.
      Where - is - the - proof?

I mean, I could just go on ponychan and start a thread claiming I changed my name to John Rarity Smith. I read through the entire Rainbowdash thread but no proof was given, haven't reach through this one yet though.

      Anyways
      1) I am not sure if it is attention horsing or just trolling
      2) There's no logical reason for freaking out for something like this as much as many of you do.
No proof, so it could be fake, meaning you freaked out over something that never happened
If it did happen, then it's HIS life, HIS name and HIS decision, and I really don't see why people got mad at something that doesn't even affect them
And please stop coming up with the "it's ruining the community's reputation" stuff. It's not.

      ReplyDelete
    68. if that's how a brony wants to show appreciation, then let him. We must accept oddities like this, for we are like family. its like getting a tattoo... Whatever you want you get. Chastising Flutterguy here is no different to christian ways. we are a fandom, not a religion.

      ReplyDelete
    69. @ Ewyndall

I believe I have posted on Ponychan that I will provide proof. Once my Visa/bank card comes in the mail I will upload a picture of it, with most of it censored (Cause its my bank card damnit!)
And once I get my passport re-done, and recieve it in the mail (this takes alot of time) I will upload a picture of that aswell, with just some minor parts censored.

      ReplyDelete
    70. Yes, its a little harder to do up here, but honestly, I've been looking to change my name to Kujii Tetsuiga for a long time, since I happen to lack a middle name, I think placing Pinkie pie as 2 different middle names would be awesome, fulfilling, and neato to the extreme.

So once I have the ability to work it out with the system (need to be 18 first, parents won't let me until then), I'll change my name to Kujii Pinkie Pie Tetsuiga. The world will just stand by and watch.

      ReplyDelete
    71. @ Kujii thats cool, maybe you can use Pinkie Pie's whole name? Pinkamena Diane Pie? Not only do you honor Pinkie Pie more with it, it sounds more realistic.

I wish you luck in all your name changing experiences in life!

      ReplyDelete
    72. If I was taking the whole name, perhaos, but as a middle name, I'm not certain Kujii Pinkamena Diane Pie Tetsuiga would look too good on paper.

Of course my initials being KPDPT would be awesome.

What is this place filled with so many choices...

    74. I guess I'll see how confident I feel when I go off and do it. Generally you don't tell people a middle name anyway, so making my middle name Pinkamena Diane Pie would just help to make my legal papers hell to write.

Granted that entire name is illogical, Kujii is not a real word/name, Tetsuiga is apparently a sword, and Pinkamena Diane Pie is a character from a childrens TV show.

    75. You know what I want to see? I want to see a guy legally change his name to Steven Magnet. It wouldn't be all that strange but it would still be awesome.

      ReplyDelete
    76. @VFX Kid What is all this "Steven Magnet" stuff I hear about? Did I miss something? :S

      ReplyDelete
    77. If you google Steven Magnet, you'll find images of google's voice thingamabobber mistaking the sea serpent for him

      http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YS5w5fb1Fy4/TY-fF8aBQ-I/AAAAAAAACqM/SiC-IWZo0a0/s1600/steven_magnet_crop.png

With one simple coincidence, Steven Magnet was born. He is a meme that holds a bit of power inside ponychan, but otherwise doesn't exist/hold much sway.

    78. @Kujii Lmao! Thanks for "enlightening" me!

Suffice it to say, the voice to text thingy is pretty messed up. It creates QUITE some humorous subtitles.

      ReplyDelete
    79. @Fluttershy

Yes, it is as Kujii said. Google may not be very good at making audio translation technology, but they sure can make us laugh!

    80. Honestly, I think this is strange, but definently not the strangest or most unsettling thing. Here, when someone wants to change their name they need to wade through red tape and pay a fee, so the person has to be dedicated just to keep from bashing their head in, but seeing as over there it is easily changed, he could just change it if he gets too much flak or just gets bored, but it seems like a normal thing over there.

      ReplyDelete
    81. Yay I read the forum post about it earlier ^^
      Gratz anyhow!

      ReplyDelete
    82. You know, changing your name isn't as big as you light Think. I'm so young that it has no huge impact, and I dont have to tell everyone I meet my name is Fluttershy. I do feel more happy though, and I feel more manly haha!

      ReplyDelete
    83. These people are awesome. It's only a matter of time before there's a group of people who changed their name to the names of the Mane Six.

If I were to change my name myself, I'd probably change my middle name to Scootaloo. Or Derpy. Or Ditzy. Changing my first name would be pretty insane.

      ReplyDelete
    84. It might be a big thing around in the US, but I'd do it anyway! Owning you name after you've made it yourself is purely an honor. At least Fluttershy didn't go insane and make it their first name! I think I just wouldn't get used to that myself, would feel weird to get called that.

    85. Goddamnit. Just stop.

    86. It was stupid for that person to change their name to Obi-Wan Kenobi several years back.

It was stupid for that brony to change his name to Rainbow Dash.

And it's stupid to change your name to Fluttershy.

And I love Star Wars, ponies, and Fluttershy is my most favorite pony of all. But it's still stupid.

      ReplyDelete
    87. *Blinks* Seriously? I love the show and all but really changing your name to the name of a fictional character is just goofy period.

      ReplyDelete
    88. I wonder who'll take Derpy.

      ...

Derpy doesn't sound like a bad middle name...

      ReplyDelete
    89. Let's not forget that a lot of names in the U.S. originated because they were named after people.

      ReplyDelete
    90. *facehoof* I don't really approve of this, I mean come on. There's contributing to a fandom and there's taking it too far. maybe in the future when we take over the world that will be acceptable but for now, doing this = bad idea.

      ReplyDelete
    91. @Anonymous well, this is one of the first steps in taking over the world. If no one does anything, how can we achieve world domination?!

      ReplyDelete
    92. Absolutely! If it wasn't for those of us that change our names, the world would slowly forget about the show.

Although, Fluttershy, I would have waited one more season to do this, I don't know why but doing it after 1 season seems like jumping the gun.

Of course, maybe its easier to do over there, so your not as worried. Over here it takes forever to get your name changed, so we have to think about it more.

      ReplyDelete
    93. No matter what ANYONE here will say, I will NEVER think this is cool, This is plain WEIRD & Creepy and I agree to ALL of the "Hate" comment as You IRL-Pony-Name-Changing Fans Call it.

Pegasi is Awesome for telling His/Her opinion. And I'm saying my opinion, NO-1 will change it.

      ReplyDelete
    94. I guess I'll post better late than never. Fluttershy:
yay for you and a woohoo too. If the show stops being popular/existing/being good in two years then just remember that someone, somewhere, is making a shipping fic of you. Comforting...

No, really you will always have support. I mean I can't actually condone this, you weren't given a middle name to go change it to the name of a cartoon pony, but hey to each his own.

Plus awesome choice. Its the next safest thing next to changing a name to Twilight. Fluttershy, I've heard worse. Twilight, I know that some fangirls changed their name to that.

      ReplyDelete
    95. Welp. I'm not 18 yet, but my mom said that when I turn [AGE REDACTED] she'll let me change my name. And now I'm determined.

      ReplyDelete
    96. So, you've watched 26 episodes of my little pony, and you're still more concerned with your own ego and the perceptions and opinions of others than you are with being sincere - both with yourself, and with others.

      Congratulations, you have learned nothing.

How do you enjoy something, yet at the same time feel ashamed that you enjoy it? Is your ego really more important to you than your own happiness?

      ReplyDelete
    97. I'm all for it, man. Fuck it, I'm changing my middle name to Apple Bloom.

      ReplyDelete
    98. It isn't really hate here it's just common sense. It's like telling a kid that touching a hot stove is a bad idea- it just is for obvious reasons. You can't call it hate, you call it telling someone that is a bad idea. This really is I think. People should keep up their fandom but know when to stop so it doesn't control their lives.

      ReplyDelete
    99. Eh, this person just changed their middle name. That IMHO is not as big as changing everything BUT your middle name like Alexi did.

      ReplyDelete
    100. Oh look, Kim actually got an article on EQD about him, I did not know that this happened, ah well. He's really creepy anyway.

      ReplyDelete
    101. Okay, seriously people... I'm aware that I may be a few days late, but I saw a link to this on google, I read through all the comments and wonder how hard it is for you (idk ages but I'm estimating that at least a few of you are adults) to understand the fact that no matter what happens, if Kim changes his middle name to fluttershy, that's his life, and not yours. So don't bother complaining. And second, anything and everything we bronies do will cause hatred towards us, and we just need to roll with the punches. Don't let them get to us. Haters and going to hate no matter what we do and we just have to know that they only hate because we take up that much of their mind anyways. And if they think about us that much, we have already won.

(p.s. I'm 15, and I'm lecturing adults on rationality and keeping calm in the face of adversity. I feel bad for bronies now, just because I had to do this.)
