    2. "Obsession, Possession"

      That alliteration...

ANyway, sounds interesting, I always thought Discord was just listening to everypony around him, it'll be interesting to see how he, "responds."

    3. I was wondering why we had so little grimdark leading up to Halloween...

    4. @Jelfes

      That's no alliteration, that's a rhyme!

    5. @Somepony Else Ah, yes, don't know how I mixed those up!

    9. Ahhh, and your masterpiece has finally been put up on EqD. (: I only hope the people here love it like we do on FF(dot)net. Such a great story. And while I won't be putting anything I write on EqD, I still plan to support you, my friend! Till the end! <3

    10. I liked it until it started shipping Discord and Celestia in Chapter 2.

      Ugh. No thank you.

    11. *hipster* Read before EQD'ed. >:D

Anywho, def a cool story. Worth a read-over IMO.

    15. There is supposed to be a shipping tag in this story.

      Cereal just derped.

      ReplyDelete
    16. No shipping in this story, what're you on about? o.O

      ReplyDelete
    17. I like the first chapter.

Then shit got weird without warning.

      ReplyDelete
    18. I will read this soon. I love Discord :3. Not nearly enough of him on here.

      ReplyDelete
    19. Yeah, this isn't really shipping, is is 67 levels of mind-fuckery.

    20. @Azarias
I'm just skimming over some chapters, so I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I saw some plain ol' regular fuckery in there, too.

      ReplyDelete
    21. It's good, but earns the Grimdark tag a good ten times over when it comes down to the non-mind mind screwing. That and Luna drops the Moon on Discord, so that bumps it up a good star or so.

    22. Chapter 1: =D
      Chapter 2: wut?!?!?!?
chapter 3: Im trying not to click that number... ya I failed

    23. Look at that thing up there. Now try imagine it having sex. Or engaging in anything remotely related to sex.

      Yeah. Do not want.

      ReplyDelete
    24. It was a great story, will be reading the additions.

      ReplyDelete
    25. Borderline clop? Nothing about chapter two seemed borderline to me. That was a clop scene, no doubt about it.

Will continue reading through to the next chapters despite the clop because the characterization is phenomenal...wait, good characterization in a fic with clop? What the..but...that's imposs--...huh?

Words. No more of them. Too speechless to continue this comment.

      ReplyDelete
    26. ...destruction of canon is right. wow.

Although I shouldn't be in the least surprised. After reading a few too many fantasy novel series you'd notice the two supposed "goddesses" were nowhere near as powerful as even the weakest of some pantheons out there, and Discord showed far more power than all the other characters in the show combined so far in his ONE two-episode appearance.

And to hay with the spoilers, the princesses' MOTHER being NMM? now THAT is what I call a perfect story hook. canon-breaking, i know, but absolutely perfect at the same time.

      definitely looking forward to updates.

      OH SHIT

I have no words. Definitely looking forward to updates as well.

Guessing you haven't read "Romance Reports".

    29. I wish I hadn't read this.
I read Grimdark sometimes, but that horrifying borderline-clop really ruined it for me. I now have an intense hatred for Discord and can't read any fics in which he is included.
I take my Celestia fics very seriously

    30. Discord hurt Twilight... he hurt my favorite pony...

Dear, dear Discord. You believe yourself the master of chaos? You truly wish to embrace entropy? You have no idea what it is, but I will give you a proper demonstration. There is no thought in chaos, there is no 'being', no existence, no anything. Only cold, black nothingness. Oh yes, you shall learn the true meaning of entropy as I turn your essence into a random smattering of nutrinos scattered across every dimensional plane.

A true god knows that entopy and order must go hoof in hoof for the universe to go on, neither may ever be dominant. Pure chaos is simply nothingness, a void of near-zero energy; while pure order is absolute rigidity in which nothing can ever change, an impossibly static state with all space at the highest possible potential energy, fixed eternally thus. This alternate Discord is a megalomaniacal fool, a cruel powermonger who delights in his wickedness. WE shall 'educate' him as we have others of his delusional mindset and psychopathic character!

    37. I love this story! Honestly the sex didn't bother me that much at fist I thought WTF?! But as the story progressed it really added to the inner conflict between Celestia and Discord while both hating him but being attracted to him at the same time.

      ReplyDelete
    38. This is an amazing story. Truly one of the few one's I've read that actually does make use of sex as a minor plot detail that actually has a real, relevant reason to legitimately be in the story, as does all the other details (the violence, the mental torture, etc) that help to punctuate the relationship not only between Celestia and Discord, but also his interaction with the rest of the cast, and some insights to his motivations (or at least, what he's done in the past).

This is most definitely 6-star material. It's a mature story for mature audiences, and a damn good one at that. Being a ruler, being the one that has to make the hard decisions, isn't easy, and it damn sure isn't pretty, and Celestia's no exception to that. This author should most definitely keep on with this.

The "Good Endings" are never the easiest, nor the prettiest, to get to, but that makes them all the better to obtain. Even if it isn't all sunshine and rainbows afterwards (and considering the hell they're going through, I'd be suspicious if it was), this ride is still one of the more entertaining ones I've read through. Good Job™.

      ReplyDelete
    39. Oh GOSH at this story. It's pretty damn good.
I followed every piece of dialog as if glued to my screen. Discord is such an asshole and I love it. When an author makes me feel such intensity towards a character, well thats good fiction right there.
Why the hell is this story rated so low? Christ.

      ReplyDelete
    40. two and a half stars? thefuckisthis? Scented Venom is AMAZING

      ReplyDelete
    41. Discord is a badass in this. His torture makes me excited for those two tyrants. ALL HAIL KING DISCORD!

      ReplyDelete
    42. @Daniel: It is a shame, really (and we didn't even get a real sex-scene for exchange for that ridiculous rating ;-)).
Last chapter was good like all before, hope to read the next one soon :-).

    43. Hey everyone, author here. Probably should have commented on this before, but yeah. Hey there! Thank you all so much for the kind words, and sorry to keep you all waiting again. Chapter 9 was just submitted, so it should be showing up soon. If anyone has any questions/comments about the story, I'd be happy to answer them. Hope you all enjoy the update!

    45. @SoundofRainfall my name is david motley , i am the leader of the "El Paso bronies" and i am a soldier in the U.S.Army infantry . sol is amazingly spot on warrior he carries himself just as any good fighter would . what inspired him and can i have permission to use him in my fic ?

    46. amazing story and twist! I look forward to the next installation!

    47. @USArmy11Brony

First of all, thanks for your service, and know that it is greatly appreciated. Really hope that it's going well, and I hope that other bronies are giving you the support that you deserve.

As for Sol... he actually originated in another, far less serious story of mine called 'Princess Textlestia', which is... about Celestia getting a cell phone. He had an entirely different personality and was more or less a joke character and intended to be a one-time thing. However, so many people liked him for whatever reason, that I threw in a cameo for him in this story. People were happy to see him again, and I got to thinking about it, and decided to give him a bigger role in this story and an actual personality instead of keeping him as a side character.

As for where I got his current, serious personality- I'm actually not entirely sure. Sol is one of those characters that basically wrote themselves as soon as I started giving him an actual purpose in chapter 7. I wanted to start him off as somewhat unsure of the situation, but as soon as he realized how serious things were, he jumped into action and did everything in his power to help Celestia, no matter the cost. I've never really tried to make a character like him work before, and wanted to get a veteran fighter into the mix without him seeming too typical. It's great to hear that you like him, and I'm surprised how well-received he is in general.

So, yeah. Probably not the inspired answer you were looking for unfortunately, but I'd rather be completely honest. Sol is... odd, to me. I love him to death, but I have no idea why he is the way he is beyond 'it just happened' after Princess Textlestia. Feel free to use him if you want, and best of luck with the rest of your service. Thanks for asking!

    49. @SoundofRainfall

Still hedging on the awkward fence of uncertainty with giving this story a go. If you'd explain a brief take on the bit-o-controversy this story seems to have generated, I'd greatly appreciate the author's own stance on this. Straight from the horse's mouth, as it 'twere.

      ReplyDelete
    50. @ambion Apologies for taking so long to respond! I assumed that everyone was done commenting. I'd be glad to clarify, with a minimal amount of spoilers. There IS sex in chapter 2, and the nature of it turned quite a few people off. However, I believe that the event if somewhat central to setting the stage. It isn't meant to be pretty, and the intent was to shake up some preconceptions about certain characters, and the readers. If you do decide to give it a go, I would suggest reading all of chapter 2 before deciding one way or the other. I have a feeling that many ducked out as soon as that sort of thing began, without seeing the explanation or larger impact. However, I can understand that, in a sense, and will respect your decision either way. Thanks for considering!

    51. @SoundofRainfall

Such an open minded and considerate reply! I could do no less than to give this an honest and unprejudiced reading now in lieu of this. Thank you.

      ReplyDelete
    52. @ambion Not a problem at all! Wish I had seen your question sooner. Of course, it does slightly irk me that so many people seemingly jumped ship and/or labeled it as terrible so early into the story, but I can understand it. Would love to hear your honest opinion, no matter what it is. Thanks for giving it a chance!

      ReplyDelete
    53. Umm... Your link is derped. It takes you to chapter nine. I accidentally read all of it nine before realizing -.- .I'm derped too.

I must say though, it was easy to jump on board; the writing was good, interesting and informative. I just happened to read the second last chapter first is all. >.>
I think of it as a compliment that I could make this mistake and not even notice until I went up to hit next chapter. Still, others might not take it as well. Now I'm even more enticed to go back and see how it all started. XD

      Could be fixed

      ReplyDelete
    54. Having finished this story now from first to last - I'm satisfied I gave it a chance. Thank you, SoundofRainfall.

Even the disturbing bits were alright, and done well for the story and context. I normally avoid grimdark like the plague, but then, sometimes I suppose I flirt with sickness. There's few gd I'll even risk reading, and fewer still that'll I'll stick with. This one was such.

Interesting ideas and conflicts - don't think I've ever seen the BoE from that perspective before, or that royal history, or a few other things. Alot of you're patterns and thinking differ from mine, and I liked to see that come through in the writing.

To anyone yet to read this story, hedging on the fence as I did - yes, its worthy of the tag, yes there's squick, but the writing is solid and the characterizations are captivating. Just make sure you're starting on chapter one, should you give it a shot xD
