• Discussion: Pony Dreams

So. Dreams. Dreams about ponies. With all of the influence ponies seem to have on our conscious brains, it seems only natural that sooner or later they would seep into our unconscious thoughts as well. I've been told this is a really popular topic of discussion on Ponychan, so I thought that it might be fun to play with it here, as well.

Let's discuss, then! As for myself, I remember very vividly a dream where I woke up on the couch and suddenly was a pony. It was extremely surreal and full of panic moments, such as wondering how I was supposed to pick up my fiancee at the airport when I could no longer grip the steering wheel of my car (or reach the pedals!), and then again when I realized I would have to quit EqD and spent the next I'm not sure how long trying to nudge my laptop open with my nose to tell Seth. It was an amazingly vivid experience, and I can even still remember the tactile sensations of things like a blanket brushing up against a wing. My brain does weird things to me sometimes. But what about you guys? Have you dreamed about ponies? What sort of dreams did you have? How did they feel, and what did you think about them? If you could pick one to have, what kind of dream would you want?

You're right, I don't, sleep is something I gave up long ago so I could fit more ponies into my life.

    2. I had one that basically ended up being a rough transcript that allowed me to write my (only) story. Also had a couple more that I could have written into stories, but ultimately laziness won out.

      Other than that, nothing.

    3. Funnily enough, I dreamed about ponies just last night. Something to do with Trixie and her parents (I think it was related to the Trixie fics I read last night). Her parents were blue bears, if I remember correctly.

    5. Well my two sets of dreams consist of either me hanging out with RD flying, or playing in a small band with Vinyl. Dont ask me why but thats my answer!

    6. I had a dream where I was looking at pony videos on youtube and commenting. Does that count?

    7. Oddly enough, I haven't had any pony dreams.
That I can remember at least.

    8. The only pony dream I remember having was a few months ago. Let's just say that it was a dream where I was in Skyrim. Skyrim inhabited by ponies. Best dream ever.

    10. I dreamt about being rainbow dash and fighting zombie aliens from the 9th dimension with a wooden pickaxe.

      I confuse myself sometimes.

    11. I'd be a pegasus, and I'd chill with the two best ponies all day, Scoots and Rainbow.

    12. I remember a time where I dreamt I was at a Vinyl Scratch concert. I was listening to my headphones when I had fallen asleep and one of the pony song remixes I had in my ipod must have come up because I heard it in the dream. I ended up just amidst a large crowd of ponies, though I couldn't quite pick out many details. Sadly the dream wasn't very long so I didn't get many juicy details to be recalled.

    14. I know ponies have been there, somewhere, watching... But I don't remember dreams from weeks ago.

I would love to meet ponies in dreams, but then I'd kill myself when I woke up from not having ponies.

    15. I can't remember my dreams. I'll wake up knowing I've just had a dream, but I can never remember what about.

      It makes me sad.

    16. They're awesome. Pure imagination unleashing feelings you would never experience but in a dream itself.
Sometimes i wish they were true

    17. Ponies?

I had a nightmare on Saturday morning that I slept through MLP S02E03, so I dreamed that I was freaking out and throwing stuff around. Rainbow Dash came out of nowhere and sonic rainboomed straight into my stomach and woke me up exactly 30 minutes before the episode began.

Yeah. I felt awesome and scared of myself at the same time.

    18. I actually did dream about a new pony episode last week.I forget what it was about, but it was about Twilight.

    19. I've had a dream where I was a pegaus flying around. I can't recall much but according to what I jotted down when I woke I bumped in to some of the mane 6 in it too.

    20. I can't remember it too clearly, but the other day I had a dream where I apparently confessed my love to Fluttershy. :3

    23. That is an adorable Lyra.
I've had a bunch of pony related dreams, but they were all third person type things. Unfortunately I've never dreamt of being a pony. If I could, I would love to dream of being a unicorn pony and just walk around Ponyville.

    25. I had a dream that I was moving into a new apartment. There was a rather large mushroom growing off of a piece of duct tape on the wall. I didn't know what it was, so naturally I called Twilight to come and take a look. She brought a bunch of books on fungi.

Another dream I had during the summer: Jayson Thiessen contacted me personally with a sneak peek of season 2. It was good.

      ReplyDelete
    26. I don't usually dream, but whenever I do dream, it's the flying dream. Everybody has a flying dream.

The night after I watched a marathon of all episodes of Season 1, I had my Pony dream.

Short and to the point, it was, I was flying as fast as I could (I grow angel wings guys, yeah!) and I realised it was because I was racing Dash.

We raced for minutes, only, and I actually caught her, but when I did she turned into my fiancé with her hair dyed (she's a fair tomboy herself) but we were still hurtling through the air due to momentum. And just then I woke up when my real fiancé kicked me in her sleep.

      ReplyDelete
    27. Wait... you had wings? Did you go flying? I absolutely hate it when I have a dream in which I *know* that I'm somehow able to fly and yet never actually do. It's like your brain is cheating you.

Now that I think about it, it's been ages since I've had an awesome lucid dream where I could do whatever I wanted. Stupid brain.

Anyway, haven't had any vivid pony dreams yet. I wouldn't put them past me, though.

      ReplyDelete
    28. I remember a couple nights back I had a lucid dream for a very very short time before I woke up, my first lucid dream ever, and I only just managed to err.. "Conjure" up Fluttershy, I hopped on her back and we flew around the hills in my back yard! =)

      ReplyDelete
    29. Actually yes. I have dreamed about ponies. Several times as a matter of fact. There was one dream I had where I think I was roomates with Pinkie Pie (which would be awesome by the way, though I have no idea how I'd get any studying done what with all the partying). There was also a dream where my MLP toys weren't actually toys but actually the ponies only miniaturized, sorta like "Indian in the Cupboard."

Also, I had a dream just two nights ago that I was married to Derpy. I have NO idea what that says about me. My subconscious is really messed up I think.

      ReplyDelete
    30. I never have dreams anymore. It makes me sad!

      ReplyDelete
    31. Yeah I had a dream I was a pony, it was... Weird.
I was dreaming that I was outside and then I saw twilight sparkle and I just as natural as could be said hello to her, and she said Hi Luna has heard you talk to her at night for years in this world, even before you knew Luna was a pony, you called out to Luna, she wants me to take you to her, but you must leave every thing behind...
I was then left to wonder if I would go and leave my mom, brother, and band behind for the love of a world I don't know in person. I did go, and I was made into a pony, but I had woken up begging for my mom and brother to be brought in too, so I can care for them there.

    32. I dreamed that Celestia lost all of her powers and the mane six and I went on a quest to find the item containing her lost power. She came with us, changed into a very powerful unicorn, but a unicorn nonetheless. We restored her powers and she offered me the opportunity to stay in Equestria, than my alarm went off.

No I haven't had any pony dreams that I can remember, but does that count?

      ReplyDelete
    36. I had a really trippy dream where, in order to play poker, a very sickly Pinkie Pie had to go through this surreal sequence that I can only sum up as the interior of a dryer but the holes on the inside are large enough to fit a pony inside of, in order to become Derpy, which turned out to be a far more emotionally and biologically stable (as in, not sick) version of herself. The only way I was involved was because I was watching this as I was with her and some other people in a group heading over to a private, high-stakes poker room in some very bland, office-space-like casino.

      ReplyDelete
    37. Not really a lucid, tactile experience like that or anything. Mostly when I find myself being a fan of a TV show and it affects my dreams, the dream is about watching an episode or discussing it online rather than actually being IN the show.

But the dream I had the other night was Celestia as lead in a musical number. And it was awesome.

      ReplyDelete
    38. I have two pony dreams I vividly remember the first of which happened shortly after I started watching It was about me and twilight talking and having fun.
The more recent (last night actually) involved ww3 and me modifying an orbital weapon that would have killed all humans and instead turned them into ponies.
I aim to make this my life's goal

    39. I've had a single dream that was just bizarre... I woke up in a pony house, and found that me and a random guy pony had switched places. So my new pony body had a nice house, was married to a cute mare, and was a writer of some sort.

Then I woke up. And I never had the dream again. It was so strange... but not unpleasant.

I NEED TO DREAM ABOUT PONIES NOW!! sleep time...

      ReplyDelete
    44. I pray each night before bed to be blessed with pony-related dreams, but alas, I shall not have such luck. Every night I try to will a dream about ponies into my minds, only to be met with bitter rejection, as if my sleeping self is not a brony. The thought makes me sick to the core. But every attempt results in the same failure, and knowing I could not experience the blissfullness of a pony dream, I found another outlet to satsify myself. And that outlet was fanfiction. Still, one day in the future, I hope that this will change.

Yeah... my dreams are usually crap anyways. Like last night, I was on a bus with my friends being pulled up a ninety degrees sloped mountain by a lion with a rope. He got distracted by a mouse or something, let go of the rope... and we fell to our death. Yeaaaaah.

      ReplyDelete
    45. Honestly, I would hope that I could be Rainbow Dash and do a Sonic Rainboom and an Atomic Rainboom. Does anyone have any idea how awesome that would feel?!?!

      ReplyDelete
    46. OH! And I also had a nightmare last week. I had just watched season 2 episode 4 and it had sucked.

Dunno if that counts because I didn't interact with the ponies or anything but yeah, that happened.

      ReplyDelete
    47. According to my friend he had a dream i was a pony which i thought was hilarious cuz he and everyone else were human and/or robot and me and him were having just a normal discussion while the others were having a sword fight on a table or devouring the food

      ReplyDelete
    48. Not yet, but I have been close to a vivid dream.
I remember watching TV and it was like a talk-show with ponies. Sadly I woke up to soon before the dream really went anywhere. still though the last few nights I see a few ponies in my dreams but I never seem to focus on them.

I'll probably have a vivid pony dream soon though and it will be amazing like all my other vivid dreams in the past.

      ReplyDelete
    49. I HAVE dreamed of ponies. Past that, I can't say. My dreams are VERY incoherent and hard to remember as-is. Although, I do remember that the at least one thing in each dream often gets repeated again and again, like accidentally reading the same line twice (or fifteen times, in my case).

      ReplyDelete
    50. I've had several pony dreams. Usually it involves one or all of the mane six, but I don't remember much past that.

      ReplyDelete
    51. I don't dream.

But if I did, I would want it to be about ponies, preferably the kind where I either was a pony or could observe them having fun.

      ReplyDelete
    52. I usually don't remember my dreams (if I even dream), but just last night, I had this tiny snippet of a dream I remembered of trying to draw something really serious, and filly versions of two characters from Somber's "Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons" fanfic came running past with one of them cheerfully shouting "I declare this to be recess time!"

Very peculiar dream, and really odd for this thread to come up after I just mentioned it earlier in that story thread.

      ReplyDelete
    53. Basically anytime I dream now, it's about ponies. The trouble is remembering these dreams.

      ReplyDelete
    54. I had a dream where I was flying in the sky with rainbow dash.. It was so wonderful.. And then I woke up and realized how awful reality is..

    56. The only pony dream I had was one where I was helping AJ with her applebucking. However, I was a human, so I kinda just... punched the trees. And it worked.

      So yeah, not much happened.

    57. @l0x0r
      Do tell.

      @Jelfes
I personally think that if you've gotten to the point where you're having pony dreams that are this vivid...
You're either very gifted or EXTREMELY high on pony.

Just my two cents on the whole thing.

For the record, no, I've never dreamt about ponies.
I did have a dream about riding Spirit (from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron) though! I was, oh, about 12 or so.
Nowadays I'm lucky if I even have a dream. I miss my dreams. They were great adventures...

      ReplyDelete
    58. I once had a dream where I was taking a math test, and then when I reached into my backpack to get my TI-84 graphing calculator, Applejack suddenly popped her head out from it.

She looked around and said "Pinkie's in here too."

And then Pinkie jumped out of my backpack and started throwing calculators everywhere, and all my classmates started cheering and flailing their limbs around like Garry's Mod ragdolls.

      And then I woke up.

What the hell is wrong with me.

      ReplyDelete
    59. ... Plus something R-rated involving applejack. I plead the fifth on details

      ReplyDelete
    60. I sigh dejectedly. I can rarely if ever remember my dreams. Occasionally I'll wake up from a screaming quietly from a nightmare, but never anything pony related.
I envy all who do dream of ponies and are able to remember them.

      ReplyDelete
    61. I think I had a dream that involved Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle in a shipping situation. It was something about RD shielding TS from snow with her wings.

      ReplyDelete
    62. Considering the vast amount of my day that revolves around ponies, I am really surprised I don't have dreams about them. Maybe I just don't remember them or something? All I remember is the stupid alarm clock going off...

      ReplyDelete
    63. I've only had one pony-related dream, and an odd one at that. I was driving a jeep as a colt (and looking back I have no idea how I was steering with my hooves). Colgate and Lyra were in the backseat and we were trekking through some sort of jungle. It wasn't very specific, but I definitely remember it as my first "pony" dream.

      ReplyDelete
    64. I had a dream with angry Twi destroying my property.

      ReplyDelete
    65. I haven't had a surreal or flying or magical powers dream for the longest time. I think I've convinced my subconscious that such things are absurd.

apparently I am missing out :|

(though if it were to happen, it would likely draw on the mental imagery I conjured while reading the Battletech fic, where the ponies were mostly the same but humans became cartoonish. and I don't think I've ever had a non-human human dream...)

      ReplyDelete
    66. The Cutie Mark Crusaders told me to burn down this one building. I was going to do it, but in the end I asked "What am I doing?" and didn't do it. I'm fairly certain that's the only dream about ponies I've had so far... My optimal dream would be where I fly with Rainbow Dash and have a great time.

      ReplyDelete
    67. @MagicLlama

If it makes you feel any better, my first pony related dream was R-rated with Rarity.

I still feel dirty about it.

Other than that, though, it's been nonsensical references in my normal abstract dreams.

      ReplyDelete
    68. There I was in the early hours of the morning, in bed with a fever.
The kind of fever that makes you hallucinate...
Well... tiny versions of Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity (literally my 'little' ponies, able to fit in both hands) had opened my chest cavity, divided it into 16 sections like an excavation site, and were working on trying to fix my fever.
God alone knows what a fever has to do with my abdominal organs o.o
Despite my tossing and turning, there they were, arguing with each other about what goes where, floating around like little pixies, tugging at my strings.

      Best.Fever.Ever.

P.S. I had not read Cupcakes or any gorefic, nor do I plan to in the future.

      ReplyDelete
    69. I actually dream about fics I've read, so I've had dreams about "Dangerous Buisiness", "Past Sins", "The Empty Room", etc.

      ReplyDelete
    70. My ideal pony related dream would be like the one Phoe had where I was a pony, I can't decide weather I would be a Unicorn, Pegasus or Earth pony if I was a pony, and I'd love to see what I'd have as a cutie mark, and I really wanna see what colours I'd have for my mane and coat.

Also, I'm typing this comment just as I am about to go to bed, so I'll do my best (somehow) to have that dream, I will report my experiances in the comments as soon as I wake up, wish me luck fellas.

    71. 10 months later still haven't had a pony dream...

Really strange, not even one- then again I rarely remember my dreams.

      ReplyDelete
    72. The only pony-related dream I had came almost a year ago. About the only bit I can remember was that I had traveled to Equestria, and had brought some ponies back with me to a mall to save the 5th Doctor from carnivorous plastic plants.

Take that for what you will.

      ReplyDelete
    73. Never had a pony dream, don't really WANT a pony dream.

Ponies are a hobby. Not something that should be lurking in my subconscious :-/

    74. I dreamed that I was in a big hall surounded by ponies in Equestria and Luna was in front of me crying, holding me in her hooves. She wouldn't let me go and kept asking "why you have to go? Why..."
I just turned around and woke up. It was more like a nightmare. I felt horrible that morning, just couldn't get that dream off my mind.

    75. sadly, i don't recall having any pony-related dreams. but if i could choose one, i'd probably have to hang out with rainbow dash, study magic with twilight, then finally find luna and give her the biggest hug EVAR. (yes, all in the same dream)

      ReplyDelete
    76. I have had at least a couple of pony-related dreams. Not vivid though, can't really remember them. I'm surprised I don't have more since the last thing I do every night before going to sleep is read fanfiction (this has been the case for probably about three months now, maybe more).

      ReplyDelete
    77. I dreampt about trying to explain our world to Twilight Sparkle. That dream reinforced for me that kids shows really don't portray reality as well as I wish they did... then I tried to write a fanfic loosely based on that idea... and got sidetracked by school.

      ReplyDelete
    78. You mean you're NOT a pony anyway?

I've had a few dreams but I can't only remember two 'scenes'.

One being, I was in my primary school again talking to someone from secondary school, who them turned into Rarity and told me to stop eating mashed potatoes as it's rude to do so in polite company.

The other one was, I was feeling sad that I never properly thanked my teachers from school for teaching me, so I bought some Cheerilee coloured flours thinking "it'll match her hair".

      ReplyDelete
    79. I usually have epic battle dreams, like unicorn battles. I had a magic sparring match with Twilight once (she won) that was pretty vivid.

      ReplyDelete
    80. I had this one dream when Applejack was telling me about how she wanted to leave Ponyville and start a new life somewhere.

And Spike was driving this tank looking thing.

      ReplyDelete
    81. It was, unfortuantely, a nightmare. And it was like three months ago, and my only pony dream (that I am able to remember.) It was extremely vivid and I can only remember the majority of it. But all I remember was falling into this endless void, and then I fortunately woke up. I went off my bed, into the corridor and past a mirror. Everything became red as I passed it and then disappeared. I stopped, walked a few steps backward and looked into the mirror.

That eye of Sauron from LOTR was looking back at me, screaming so loudly with such bass. "I SEE YOU." I instantly screamed, and -again- woke up. I again, rose from my bed, came out of the corridor; I refused to look in the mirror. I saw Fluttershy cleaning dishes, and said. "Good morning sweeite," mimicking my mother's greeting. I said good morning, came around the corner towards the living room.

I saw Rainbow Dash and Applejack (don't ask me -how- do they use it, I didn't actually see) were playing on my PS3, and said. "Hey," I said. "Hey guys," sat down on my chair, Pinkie Pie was playing on my other computer, I opened up my browser, entered Ponychan, entered /chat/.

I saw /b/. Stared at it for 5 seconds, before asking.

      "What the fuck?"

And then I really woke up.

      ReplyDelete
    82. Had one several months ago where my family and I had just gotten back from Equestria (don't ask me how we got there), but Rarity had somehow gotten stuck with us. On top of that, we ended up in Mexico, so we had to hide Rarity in a backpack while trying to legally cross back into Texas. It was necessary, but I still felt awful in the dream for making her stay in there. I even felt the ache in my chest when I woke up.

      Damn ponies =P

      ReplyDelete
    83. I was on Jeopardy. With Twilight Sparkle and Dr. Whooves.

      I need say no more.

      ReplyDelete
    84. I've had a few pony dreams for sure, but I just don't really remember them. Rather, sometimes they come and go. One VERY distinct thing I remember in one of my dreams was that I saw this one poster "Pinkie Pie is watching you FOREVER" randomly hung on the side of a building. This one: http://api.ning.com/files/t3nYxeD8XJD*2FeEpN0Frts48Cp8NHEAxEFtSOO9OyI4zmMJUQrnt8jzJOfo2SxJ/PinkiePieIsWatchingYou....png?width=300&height=600
Unfortunately, that's the only thing I really remember about ponies in my dreams. I'm sure last night or the night before there were ponies in my dreams, but I can't recall them.

    86. @Harwick

      Wings, yes, and actual flying.

I started collecting Dream Catchers when I was younger, I stopped having nightmares, ever, around number four or five and since I topped about twenty, I've only ever had the very best and most vivid dreams.

All of those have been about flying, even if they appear once a month at most.

I grow angel wings, and I fly, I once flew from England over the Atlantic and ended up at the Grand Canyon where I did skydiving and trick flying through the gap in that glass bridge thingy.

So yeah, I raced Dash through the clouds in my only pony-related dream, it was a blast ^^

    87. Lucid dream pro here.

About 3 nights ago I dreamt that my entire room was made of cupcakes, and the only way out was to eat your way through the walls. I tore through them like a Jewish mother through self-confidence.

Then I woke up, was disappoint, watched some ponies, suddenly everything's ok again.

    88. A pony dream would take me into insanity.

Or, at least, the next level of insanity.

COME AT ME, PONY DREAMS! I WANT'CHA! IT'S TOO LATE TO REMOVE MY INSANITY!

      ReplyDelete
    89. I do dream, that I am certain, but I find it very hard to remember what I dreamt.

Though I did have a terribru cold last month, and the effects of the medicine and feeling like crap led to me falling asleep on the sofa, and having a surreal dream where the mane 6 showed up just to see if I was okay.

    90. I love the ponies. But I can never seem to have a dream about them. It can be done quite easily actually. You just have to give your brain a swift buck to the back to get it kick-started.

As for the dream. I want mine to be as I imagine it. A great experience with Fluttershy actually. One where if Bic Mac shows up i can give him the 2 largest middle-hooves I can muster.

    91. I have never dreamed about ponies, but I did have that sort of experience when a dream feels like reality.
In pretty much every subject you can dream I have dreamed and lived in those dreams. I've been flying, falling, walking, crying, killing, laughing, adventuring, kissing etc etc. Those dream always fascinate me and I can't wait until the next time I dream. :D

    93. There was this one time I dreamed I made a program that, when taking input from an electroencephalograph, could read images directly out of people's minds (after calibration of course).

Then, I dreampt that I sold it to the FIM production team, taught them how to use it, and made them capable of producing a new episode EVERY SINGLE DAY FOREVER.

Then I woke up and realized season two was a month away. :(

    94. I had dream a while ago where I was escorting refugees through a Minecraft/Lego like landscape. We were near the border to a new land when we got captured by border patrol. To let us pass, I had to do a simple math test. As I try to solve the test (which I was having trouble with for some reason), the room suddenly goes dark and this music kicks in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCusebyq2WU The lights start flickering, the walls start moving. It was like somethin outta a horror movie. As I'm just about to run out of time to solve the test, Sweetie Belle shows up outta nowhere and everything stops. She lights the room up with her magic, and I'm able to finish the test.
      Then I woke up.
Weird, eh? Sweetie Belle is one of my favorite characters now.

    96. I have had plenty, many about Rainbow Dash, and some adventures and hijinks i put her in, since i was lost in equestria and she happened to find me struggling to fly.

I also had one 2 days ago about Fallout Equestria, not surprising since i had power read 10 chapters the very morning.

And a couple of just what a relationship between anypony and Rainbow Dash would be like, mainly though of TwiDash, seeing how TwiDash is best ship.

I dream of Dashie a lot, is that a problem that i think of Rainbow Dash and ponies more than the girl i have a crush on? lol

    97. Hmmm, lets see. Ah, heres one: I had a pony dream the night before S02E03. For some reason, Rainbow Dash was made of this weird rubber stuff, and she kinda like... Stretched out everywhere I went. It was very strange. I don't remember it very well.

    98. I dream about the CMC getting into absurd situations. Like Applebloom wearing a Darth Vader helmet, or a lab coat and goggles.

Then I wake up and draw them.

Confound these ponies, they drive me to insomnia.

    99. i wish so much that i had more pony dreams, but i have had 2 in the past. they dont really make sense though. one was a dream of me playing a game wher eu controlled rainbow dash. and then i became rainbow dash. not much else though. i could fly. it was awesome. the other wasnt very appropriate on so many levels and its very vague too. but i wish i had a normal dream where i just went to equestria and was a pony living there xD a nice long dream in that world would make me so happy

    100. I once had a dream where I remembered the most recent episode had 2 male background characters kiss in he background, and fox news was reporting on it with the usual "them libz r goin' aft'r our child'rn" stuff.

I clearly remember a reel they played of parents burning pony toys... even unrelated toys like Breyer models. it was so over the top it was kind of funny.

    104. I had a dream where i created a device. This device allowed me to dematerialize myself into the My little pony universe. I myself turned into one of them and soon found myself exploring ponyville. And pinky being pinky, she through a party in my honer seing as how i was a new resident. It was a bright and wonderful experience that lasted hours. when i woke, I felt happy and continued on with my day as normal with a smille.

    105. I had a dream where I realized I had become a plain, white, hairless, cutie~mark~less pony with straight black eyes. Whenever I tried to befriend or even talk to any other pony, I'd open my mouth and binary gibberish would spew out. The other fillies and stallions would look at me oddly and gently push me away, but I couldn't move my legs and so I'd fall on the ground. Twilight Sparkle eventually came up to me, and I pleaded for her to help save me from this lifeless, unmovable body that I had been trapped in, but she just looked at me pitilessly, shook her head and muttered "Why did I ever create you?". That's when I woke up.

In that world, I secretly watch a show called My Little Human, which I conceal from the other colts because such immature action shows are supposed to be for little ones who haven't learned better. Then when I go to sleep in that world I wake up here.

Also, my wife is alive here, my son is dead in the other one.

    108. Wait just a ding-dong minute!

This was my question I left in the Q&Neigh yesterday! I guess it was such a good question that everyone should answer it... success?

I'll file it under "win". Anyway, pony dream, I had one once. Only one, only once. Not even a dream that focused around ponies. There was a theatrical play, and for some reason Derpy was in the play.

... that's all I can remember. Not detailed, not exiting, but a pony dream.

    111. Also, my friend has had "Cupcakes" nightmares nearly every day at one point. Every night, Pinkamina would welcome him back, and she'll start cutting him to pieces. I don't know exactly what caused him to get nightmares... It wasn't the story itself since we both read it months before. It could have been the Ask Pinkamina blog, but we both find those entertaining. The only other thing I could think of was that he had been listening to "Something Broke" many times; and singing to the entire song several dozen times. Or it was that we both read many sequels to the story, or whatever.

      Either way, it seems every time I bring up that "your number is picked again tonight..." he seems to have that nightmare. Why can't I have that nightmare? ;_;

    113. I don't have strong dreams very often, and rarely are they vivid when I do... which makes me kind of sad because it means I don't get to have experiences like the one Phoe described... *sigh* =/

Anyhoof, my dreams are usually REALLY abstract, so I haven't had any pony dreams (yet). Maybe it's the fact that so much of my real life is spent in "abstract mental settings:" fictional worlds, contemplation, daydreams.

I envy vivid dreamers; I wouldn't trade my waking imagination for the world, but it's just not the same either. And I'm stuck being curious about what very vivid dreams are like. I HATE when I can't satisfy my curiosity.

    114. I've been writing down my dreams for about a year now. I recently checked my dream journal, and found an entry from two weeks ago that was pony related. I don't remember writing it, as I was half asleep at the time but it was quite amusing to find it and read later. I shall now share:

"I was in a big theatre thing, and flashes of light were bouncing off all the walls. Crowded with tons of ponies fighting using magic and hand to hand. Trixie was there on the stage sending bolts into the audience, which was a battlefield. I fought for her and took out a grey (?) unicorn with glasses who was part of the enemy. Sometime later, everyone was gone and it was just me and Trixie fighting. Woke up around here."

Yeah. After reading this I started to vaguely remember it, and strangely enough, I remember Oprah being there too. Dunno why.

    115. I did have a really weird one that I remember, the Ponies had enslaved humanity and forced the humans to work in underground mines, I remember it vividly, Celestia was their leader, and I would come into a lot of contact and have a lot of conversations with her.
However I was also the leader of the human resistance. Imagine that, I woke up thinking why would you do that Brain I love ponies! But I digress, every attempt we made at fighting back was thwarted, however I unlocked some of their magic at I was changed into a Pony, and I brockered peace between Humans and Ponies. I left with the ponies and ended up engaged to Luna. Kinda just ended their though, would like to have a sequel Dream. I remember it so well I could probly write a fan fiction out of it xD How my brain could come up with this is beyond me, but at least it ended better then it started. (Why would I start a resistance!) Does bring a new thing to the term Pony Overlords.

I also had a dream where Earth fell apart (it's scientific) but a bunch of bronies managed to reincarnate themselves as ponies in Equestria (I was the same pony as in the TCB dream). Oddly enough, Phoe and EsperDerek were in the dream.

      I've also dreamed straight-up fanfic.

    120. I had a dream that involved Griffons that looked like Gilda.

I dreamt I was walking among a flat desert plain of what appeared to be smooth glass. Everything was white and shimmering for as far as I could see. The wind was blowing and it caused me to squint.

I looked up and saw nothing but white shimmering sunlight.

Then I felt something fall onto my arm.

It was what appeared to be a drop of black liquid of some kind.
It fell off my arm and onto the sea of glass.

The black started spreading out like veins and soon is started cracking apart the glass and everything started going dark

there was a loud sound like a thunder clap and hundreds of strange winged creatures emerged from the blackness and took to the sky. They were not birds, or bats, but like some strange cross of the two and they made the sound of the a strong wind as they flew as a huge flock of what must have been thousands, spiraling into the sky.

They seemed to spiral for miles until they suddenly reached some sort of peak, and with that, there was a loud burst of red light as the flying creatures scattered out like a firework.

I fell down and found myself falling down down down for what seemed like miles and miles, with a strange blue fire on either side of me, suddenly, I found myself in a large white room, but not just any room, it must have been the size of an aircraft hanger, but no windows, or doors, infact, it was nothing but white, and each movement echoed in the empty space quite loudly.

Suddenly, I heard a loud sound, like a siren of some kind or the horn of a ship.

The roof opened up and there were 3 Griffons standing at the top looking down.
I got scared and started to run but I found that I was somehow confined to only 3 feet of movement in either direction.

One of the Griffons spoke to me, it told me "What once was lost, you will find, and what you find, will be greater than the past."

And it suddenly swooped down toward me making a loud screech-like roar.

And before it could get to me.

      I woke up.

I also once dreamt that I was at a rave where Vinyl was the DJ and ponies were glowstringing and it was awesome. I then saw some artwork that was pretty accurate to my dream and I kinda freaked out.

    124. I had a pony related dream a few months back. It was a very interesting experience. It started out in a comic book style. Where each scene was drawn depicting each frame of the dream. I was floating above the comic frames almost like I was reading it. Since everything was written down comic style it also meant I could read ahead (or not since this is a dream). If you've ever seen Heroes it's similar to that guys comic book and his time-stopping powers.

The first scenes were vague. I was in Canterlot talking to a pony about books. The dream then quickly transitioned to an open field drawn like the show. The sun was setting and I remember being able to stare directly at it. As the sun finally reached the horizon I "panned" as in looked away from the comic like scene to the next. Luna was there in the next frames.

Luna was speaking to me in text form for the next few minutes. The details remain blurry, but I recall the last few seconds of the dream the most. As in most comics you can skip to the end if you want, at this point I did. I looked to see the last panel and it was me being awake. I returned back a few panels to the continued talking of Luna. She was closer to me with a small smile on her face. She thanked me for the wonderful dreams, but told me that our time was up. She got closer and whispered two simple words. "Wake up".

It was at that time that my eyes simply opened. I was laying on my bed, chest forward just staring. It would be difficult to explain the relaxed feeling I was experiencing at that time.

    131. I've had several with ponies IN them but only one about ponies I can remember. It was before I was really a brony, but I had watched the first episode a few months prior before tellling myself "No! You won't become one of those damn bronies!" So I thought I had completely eliminated them from my life when one night... I had a dream. I was in this strange place surrounded by ponies. Celestia and Luna were atop some kind of throne overlooking a massive valley filled with random ponies. Pegasi were flying, earth ponies playing, unicorns doing... Magic stuff. I had no idea what the hell was happening and I had no idea why the hell I liked it so much. When I awoke I was filled with so much joy, yet also sorrow because the dream was over. It was then that I realized I have to stop fighting this if I ever want to be truly happy. Ever since I've kicked my drug addiction and haven't thought about suicide a single day.

Feels good, pony. Feels good. (Long post is long)

      very silent hill-ish.

only pony dream i can remember was ... ew, i don't think i should relate that one either. let's say Twilight was involved and it wasn't R rated. it was really kinda X rated.

    135. I had a millisecond-long falling dream (you know, where you just kind of jerk awake without even experiencing imagery, but you've got a massive adrenaline spike going and a plummeting sensation) and for some reason I was a pony in it. That was weird.

I think I might've also discussed the relative merits of various political and philosophical ideologies with a pony, but that was in a pseudo-dreamstate more than anything else - I was conscious of being inside my own "mind."

None of my interesting dreams have had any ponies in 'em, though. Probably a good thing, since those ones turn into horror stories.

    140. This post is further evidence of why Princess Phoe's reign of terror is the best reign of terror.

Hm. I know I've had these dreams but they're hard to recall now. Should have written it down.

Now, first it's important to note I rarely dream. So it was I found myself in a hovercraft at night time, skimming towards a tropical island, with Scootaloo and a bunch of OC's from The Ponythread, with the intention of some kind of commando raid. Somepony shot at us with a rocket launcher while we were going down a ravine, and flipped the craft over, so we ran to shore and up the island's mountain and when we got to the top we started flying. Flying is awesome.

A metaphor for something, or a troubling sign that I played too much Call of Duty recently? (It is, of course, impossible to have too much ponies.)

    142. In my first pony dream I was directing a shot-for-shot remake of the Doctor Who episode "Blink" in Ponyville. I didn't notice I was a pony, or that there was anything strange about the entire cast being ponies, until I called for lunch and I finally looked down to see I had hooves. Then I had a lucid moment and freaked out about it (Realizing that you are missing your thumbs takes some time to get used to). Just as I was getting out of my freak out, I was told that I had to go find the Doctor for his shots. I spent the rest of the day wandering around town trying to find him. I tried to find bananas to lure him out. I tried Sweet Apple acres first and they seemed rather offended that I asked about that. After that, I tried Fluttershy's house but she claimed to have used all of her bananas on her breakfast. Lastly, I tried Sugarcube Corner and ask Pinkie Pie. She started a song about smoothies (which I can't remember) while I walked out the back door with a bundle of Bananas. The last thing I remember is running into Derpy who told me she saw the Doctor enter the library. I went in there to try and lure him out and then I woke up, just as I was getting to the climax.

I have had other ones (Including two seperate MLP/Red Dead Redemption dreams), but my first one was always my favorite.

    146. I've had two. Both of which involved me being a bar tender in Ponyville for some reason. The second one happened a few nights ago: I was serving drinks to Screwball and after a while her eyes derp. Derpy (who's also sitting at the bar) got pissed at her for and I quote "stealing my schtick" and starts a bar fight. Multiple patrons pleaded to me and asked if I could make it stop. I said no, and instead shouted "Derpy versus Screwball! Taking bets! Who wants in?!" A few Ponies start betting then it ended. First one wasn't really notable, just Rainbow Dash having a drunken conversation with Applejack. Only thing I can think of that is notable is the fact that Applejack had a creepy smile on her face when Dash passed out.

    149. One of the oddest dreams I had was one where Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Scootaloo and Applejack where falling down a clock tower. Then out of nowhere two claws grabbed RD, Scootaloo and AJ, but not Twilight who continued to fall. Twilight then crashed to the bottom of the tower (Big Mac is already there for some reason), and then she transformed into a weird dragon/pony hybrid with her head becoming a dragon's head, then Twilight woke up from the dream commenting on how horrible it was, soon later I woke up.

So basically I had a pony dream within a pony dream, I experienced Ponyception... AWESOME!

    152. I often have ponies invade my dreams in the background. Such as, I'll be at a gas station, when suddenly Applejack will walk by. I'll think, "Hey, there's Applejack. That's totally normal. Now, I better get back to filling my car with grape kool-aid so that I can get to the waffle house and help fight off the zombie invasion."

I've only had two dreams that were completely about ponies. One over the summer that became the inspiration for my first story series, and the second a few days ago that I plan on making into my next story.

    153. The only pony dream I ever remember having was this one where I woke up in my house, but my house was hella old and decrepit and apparently in some nasty swamp/jungle place like some shit from Jumanji, but anyway I walk out the front door of my house, notice its night time, start to stare up at the stars and down comes this big yellow flying saucer with a big 'P!' plastered on the side, and out come Twilight Sparkle and Applejack, 'cept they both have HUGE tits, walk like humans, and are wearing plain white t-shirts. Then Twilight, Applejack, and I went out on some crazy adventure to fight this demon guy that was apparently fuckin' with the swamp... That's about all I can remember. Oh and I had a pretty massive erection when I woke up.

If it's going to be vivid, it also has to be weird beyond all description. Or it can be normal-ish and less vivid.

So if/when I have a dream about ponies, and remember it well enough to tell it, it's gonna be trippy.

The only dream I have had involving ponies in ANY way was one time where Scootaloo was standing in the background for a few moments. She said and did absolutely nothing, and soon she was gone.

    156. I've had only one pony dream. There were a bunch of evil guys around us dressed up like SWAT unit police. They were humans and so was I. There were the main 6 and the CMC. The main 6 and I were trying to lead the CMC to safety. I was at the front with the mane 6 and myself forming a circle around the CMC. The bad guys were hiding in all kinds of places firing at us. Don't remember too much else. I don't remember any pony being seriously hurt, so no worries!

    157. I like Princess Phoe Daily. It has awesome posts.

On topic, sadly I've never had any pony dreams(at least that I can remember). A sad day it is... :(

    158. I've had a few dreams with ponies in, though never in much detail. The ones that stood out enough for me to jot down were the one that involved grooming, and the one where Rainbow Dash and I were going to university (Dash being there was only the second weirdest part of the dream: the weirdest was the Dean being a vampire, living in the basement and keeping bats as pets).

    159. After watching WW2 document I had a dream of hitler being a pony.

It also had quite catchy song with winter wrap up melody.

hey ... that's not very nice, Mr Bloomberg person. it's not like i wanted to have these dreams.

besides, it's not like any of them were medically accurate or anything.

    161. Once had a combo of a falling and pony dream... it was pretty abstract but I think I was on a cloud and then RBD's voice was like "you gonna fly" so I stepped off and then well... let's just say I didn't have any butterflies to break the fall from my bed

    162. I had a dream that I took a pill that turned me into Fluttershy. Then I got a call from my friend. I have no idea how a pony is able to operate a cell phone but apparently I was.

    163. Never had a dream where I was a pony, but I had one snuggling Luna and one where Rainbow Dash kept popping up.

    164. I regularly dream about being a pony and helping pony Cereal Velocity murder Sethisto. Then we take over the blog and live happily ever after with our maid Phoe and butler PK.

    165. I've actually tried to have a dream about ponies to see what it's like. The result: I was able to manifest the entirety of Ponyville in my dream, but only for a second and my vision was very blurry.

Maybe I shouldn't try so hard next time.

    166. No pony dreams that I can remember. I did try to lucid dream once and was almost successful. Perhaps I will try again tonight. I've never had a flying dream before but I would love my first one to be in a race against Rainbow Dash.

    167. My first dream was a result of way too much Fallout 3 and way too much pony.

I was at a friend's house and apparently there was some entity thing that possessed me and I wound up shooting a bunch of people in VATS mode.

Freaked out, I hid in my laundry room even though I was at my friend's house.

And then as the few of us who remained ran to escape, we were suddenly ponies and Trixie was driving our get away car.

Secondly, there was Rarity sadistically dismembering Rainbow Dash.

And third, Fluttershy was open firing into a crowd with a machine gun.

I feel like I have issues now.

    168. I was catching a ride with Dash and Scootie to hurricaine control. It's usually not practical to break them up, so we just sort of tried to nudge them away from urban areas, and coordinate evacuations when nessesarry.

    169. I had a a very brief dream with Fluttershy in some sort of fight and she got injured in the fight and because of the injury turned into a human pony... this style of human pony to be exact: http://slugbox.deviantart.com/art/Pegasus-Ponies-210769148 (bikini and everything) And I had to carry her to safety. And that was it. My one and only pony dream.

    170. I've had my fair share of pony dreams. One of many was when i was Daniel from "Stargate: Equestria" and was in love with Twilight. Another was where i met The Doctor and we ran into trouble in the Time Vortex and wer turned into ponies and landed in Ponyville

    171. I had one that crossed several dimensions of weird. It started with me watching some sort of news program about turtles being smuggled by nefarious nogoodniks. The turtles would be wrapped in aluminum foil, and apparently that meant they could be hidden from I guess the turtle-scanning machines that airports all have. However, midway through the program, Rainbow Dash busted the turtle-smuggling racket, and got interviewed on the program. Then, as a reward, she got a turtle pet, which had her cutie mark painted on his shell. Seeing this, I became immensely jealous, and decided to go to warcraftpets.com to look up how to get the turtle pet on my Tauren Druid in World of Warcraft. I found out it was a quest reward, and was just about to start it when I woke up.

I want to say I had another pony dream, but I really don't remember it besides the fact that there were ponies.

    173. When I sleep it's not exactly dreams or nightmares that I see.

This makes me wish I could dream of ponies and magical lands when I sleep.

All I mostly see in my sleep is a shadowy void with a single light shining in the distance. I consider it a spark of myself that still refuses to be swallowed by an unknown emptiness, it never wanes or grows stronger.

It simply is what it is, I can't get closer or farther from it if I tried.

    175. ...Is it okay to have a pony dream where you end up killing Trixie?

    176. I've had a short one:

I dreamt I'd woken up, per usual. However when I went to get out of bed my point of view was atypically low. I realized I was standing quadrupedal a moment later. A fraction of a second after that I realized I was a pony; specifically, a pegasus! No cutie mark however.

I couldn't wait to get outside and try flying around, but first I needed to get my mane out of my face. Thus I made a trip to the bathroom (that's the only place in the house with a decent mirror).

When I used my hoof to push the mane back, I discovered I wasn't a pegasus: I was an Alicorn. I pretty much panicked at that point; I can deal with being a pegasus or unicorn stallion, but NOT with being royalty or immortal.

I woke up for real a few moments later.

This gave me an idea for a fanfic, and I ended up doing Heart of Silver to strengthen the writing muscles before attempting that one.

Just a side note here: I recently depicted myself as a pony, and went for Unicorn with a different coat/mane combo than I had in that dream. Seriously, being an Alicorn strikes me as a rather scary thing.

No but really, I would give so much to have a pony dream.

    180. Okay, this is creepy. I had a dream just last night about ponies.

I had the weirdest dream last night. It was from the PoV of Celestia, she was with Luna and they were hiding from zombies in rural outback Australia. They couldn't use their magic (due to exhaustion and overuse or something like that), until they rested, but the zombies were coming for the building while they slept.

They lock themselves in a room, Tia falls asleep but is woken in the dark by Luna whispering that something has tripped a ward. They then get attacked by a zombie and Tia smites it with a pillow. Something else comes, but turns out to be a housecat.

Tia uses the cat to smite the next zombie.

They run water into the bathtub to give the cat something to drink by way of apology for using it as a weapon, the cat then joins them as the third party member while they go exploring.

The find a town of ponies who don't recognise them, Tia tries to browbeat the one in charge but he whips out some giant air-cannon/leaf blower thing and punts Tia into a tree. Understandibly P.O'd, and having recovered from her magic hangover, Tia immobilises the whole town and goes Galadriel on them, convincing them to listen to her and fight off the approaching zombies.

Unfortunately I woke up before the epic battle, but I can imagine it. ^^

The moral of this story, my fellow ponythreaders?: Don't play Dead Island after watching ponies before bed!

    182. Despite practically drowning my life in mostly ponies the past month, I haven't had a single dream related to ponies.

Matter of fact, the dream I had last night was of a sequel to the movie Independence Day that was really crazy. And the most distressing thing about it was the lack of ponies.

    183. I think I had a short pony dream, but forgot any details.

      :\

You bastards are lucky. FO:E dreams? Fuck you.

The way my dreams always turn out, I'll prolly eventually have a FIM dream where either A) there's a big wild party w/ all the characters, B) there's a cool monster chasing me and the Mane 6 (sounds like a nightmare but I actually like these ^_^), C) some boring and mundane situation where I try to leave and somepony w/ authoritah prevents me from leaving (if I'm lucky, I go lucid at this point and totally Neo their asses. If not, THEN its a nightmare.)

    186. I once had a dream where I worked for a company literally entitled BRONIES, and I wrote it all down as a fanfiction that I never finished... But basically, the fourth wall got a crack in it, and then Princess Celestia and the U.N. decided to do like a foreign exchange student thingy and a pony came to live with me and she was my best friend.... And then I woke up... Later that day my girlfriend broke up with me and one of my best friends was apparently screwing her, and she was cheating on me with him.... Foreveralone.jpg
