• Q&Neigh: Cereal Velocity

    QUESTIONS CLOSED!

It's time to ask me questions! I'm probably the pony that no one wants to ask stuff to, so, I'm in the middle! Phoe will be on tomorrow night to field all of the real questions.

So let's see how this goes! I'll let you know when I stop accepting questions. Let's shoot for half an hour or so. Same post format as Seth's, so refresh to see what I've answered.

    Ready?

    Go!

    What's with the name?

It comes from the phrase 'serial velocity' which I found while browsing around looking for a name.

What do you do when you aren't working on the blog?

I'm in summer classes for university, so I'm often either doing homework of reading something out of a textbook. I also write fiction when I get a chance, and... that's pretty much it! I'm a boring pony.

    So Cereal, why Rarity?

I have a thing for white ponies. I can't explain it! I love Scratch and Sweetie Belle, too.

    What's your favorite cereal?

It varies from day to day. Sometimes it's Honey Bunches of Oats, and sometimes it's Captain Crunch.

How did you discover the show?

I saw some reaction images on /v/ of Pinkie, and I had no idea what they were from. So, I asked, and was directed to /co/. Spent a week lurking the threads, watched an episode, and the rest is history.

What is your stand on OC ponies? I know that a few bronies don't really like them, but none have given me a valid reason why. Can you?

I think people don't like OC ponies because it's so easy to mess them up. A well-written OC pony can be a joy to read about, but it requires a lot of thought and a lot of planning to make one fit into the world. Basically, if you're new, don't do them.

What is your relationship with Sethisto and Phoe? Did you know each other before EqD?

I didn't know either of them the blog, no. We met through ponies!

    QUICK! Cookies? Or Cream?
The fate of Equestria, neigh, the world rests on this answer!

Both! At once! In my mouth!

How did you catch Seth's attention to such a degree that he began to allow you more privileges with the blog's development?

I bugged him a lot, basically. I pre-read stories for him a lot, and one day he asked me to join. Pretty much it. I'm sure that approach wouldn't work now!

With the record breaking sales on your "My first wing bondage kit" what's next for Equestrian Innovations?

I'll get back to you when the lab boys do.

So, Cereal Velocity. What caused you to found Equestrian Innovations? What kinds of products does your company manufacture beyond the ones we've seen commercials for?

In case anyone is totally clueless as to the origins, I am indeed parodying Cave Johnson and the Portal 2 advertising with EQI. They're evolving past that, though. Slowly but surely.

What's your favorite type of story to write? To read?

I like both reading and writing light-hearted comedy stuff like Accolade, and occasionally like to write more serious things like Nightmare when I'm in the mood to tell an actual story.

Cereal, do you like real-life equines (such as horses and seahorses) with at least half passion as you do for vectored pastel equines?? Also what is your opinion about Flutter-ponies (not Fluttershy; the actual butterfly/pony creature)?

I actually do not care for real horses, but I have nothing against them, per say. And as for the second part of your question... I have no idea what you're talking about!

Who'd win in a fight, you or Seth?

I think what you meant to ask was, "Would Trixie or Rarity win in a fight?" The answer is, of course, Rarity.

    Did you ever read "Cupcakes"?
If so, what did you think about it?

Never read it, don't intend to.

    Single?

Was that an invitation to buy me dinner? I love Papa Johns, by the way.

So Cereal, what do you think about Trixie?

I never paid any attention to her until Seth started roleplaying her. She has a nice color scheme, don't you think?

Can you tell us the tuna sandwich story that you mentioned a while ago?

Oh, I forgot about that. So one day I was making tuna sandwiches, and I wanted to toast them. So, I threw them in the toaster oven, browned one side, and reached in with a spatula to turn the sandwiches over. Luckily, I missed, hit the side of the sandwich, and sent it into the heating element instead. The sandwich proceeded to catch fire.

So yeah, I set a sandwich on fire. Best cook ever, basically.

    Favorite video game?

I really really enjoyed Knights of the Old Republic 2, to the point where I think I've played it through to completion at least a dozen times in wildly varying fashions. Jedi Masters and force powers can suck it. Kreia is so hard to kill with those.

How much of your love for ponies do friends/family know?

I have literally told almost no one that I know in real life about ponies. Where I live, that would not earn me a great reputation. Family included.

If your favorite pony is Rarity (or any white pony), then why is your blogger avatar Scootaloo?

Because Scootaloo is a badass, that's why.

What is your opinion on shipfics, or the more extreme clopfic?

Clopfics? Is that where ponies build things with hammers? Clop, clop? I'm not familiar with your strange building tools.

As a fanfic writer yourself, what advise would you give others who are maybe writing their first ones?

I'd probably say to start with these. Take the advice in them and try to develop your own sense of style and storytelling flow.

Why can't we get a picture of your sexy face?
