• More Hub Commercials Appear

Now, I know what you're going to say:

Cereal, these are just sections of the show's songs with the Hub logo tossed in at the end!

Well, yeah. It is. I know we're all spoiled by the fabulous iPony commercial that was released yesterday- myself included, of course. I must have watched that thing a million times just giggling my flank off because I have nothing better to do but procrastinate with ponies, but what you have to realize is that not every commercial can be an Equestria Girls or an iPony. Sometimes you need normal commercials, too. Small, easy to make ones that don't take a million years and billions of dollars to construct like the last two must have, spectacular as they may be to behold.

I know you're not convinced. It's okay. It's a fun montage to listen to, at any rate. And, really, isn't that all that matters?

You can find it here, on Vimeo.

    4. So... beautiful... I must have Blu-rays! I must!

    5. These are actually pretty decent... and the video is not from the show. so there is some OC in there

    6. Seeing the quality of these ads really makes me want a DVD/Blu-Ray release so we can finally have 1080p episodes without any odd coloring or watermarks.

    7. can someone post a link to the ipod commercial thing?

    8. Benny Hill, Winter Wrap Up and Art of the dress.

Yep, definitely a good presentation for the show

    9. I find it interesting that, for somepony whose tail is poking onto the screen at the ends of all of them, the rest of Rainbow Dash gets so little screen time.

    10. 1080p, my computer cannot handle this amount of awesome.

    11. Dammit, first Seth, now Cereal? If Phoe posts an entry that makes me think of Cave Johnson now so help me Celestia I will--

      --nevermind...

    12. Well this is so sudden.

As it is right now I have yet to see Equestria girls on tv...

    13. lol At first I thought you said "I must have watched that thing a million times just jiggling my flank off" and I had to do a double take.

    14. I actually rather enjoyed this. Though pretty much ever pony commercial from the HUB makes me love this show even more regardless. Frick, the HUB made me able to enjoy a Katy Perry song, and I thought hell froze over.

      ReplyDelete
    15. That said, the HUB should contact Eurobeat Brony and use his tunes for some of these promos. He could get royalties, and they'd get fans that would never stop watching, ever.

    16. I dunno why, but the cuts during the Sweetie Belle one made me chuckle.

    17. Well, more pony videos snuck in here and there is better than none at all I say. :)

    18. Aside from two small things (the fact that Winter Wrap-Up, my favorite song, seems to be the shortest commercial here, and CMC's theme, my second favorite, is completely absent) this is really awesome and I'm glad they're doing even more to advertise the show. I mean, what better way to show it to people that don't yet know what it's all about, than showcase some of the really incredible music it has?

      ReplyDelete
    19. They're promoting the musical element of the show, and I think that's a good sign. That set of promos is basically a Danial Ingram love-fest, and that's sure to mean much attention will be paid to the quality of the songs in season 2. A good sign indeed.

    20. Commercials that represent the show well, with snippets of the catchy tunes we all like, and enjoy. :P

On an unrelated note: Did you guys notice that Pinkie Pie, and Rainbow Dash are the unofficial mascots of the show? RD's tail at the end of the commercial (shown in that video up in that post), and Pinkie Pie's singing for the Equestria Girls promo, and the Hub Summer promo would explain that.

    21. These may not be iPony, but they're still fantastic.

Aren't most trailers just clips from the show? These, these haven't done anything wrong, and they chose some of the best clips to use, like my favorite stanza from Art of the Dress.

Remember how the leaked Winter Wrap Up video converted so many people into bronies? This is like that, but intentional. Like relias said, what better way to advertise than to show off the awesome music (and animation)?

      ReplyDelete
    22. what is this iPony thing you guys are all talking about?

      ReplyDelete
    23. After seeing the first one, I only now realize that all their singing voice actors are singing when their respective pony appears on the screen... It blew my mind how I could have missed this before...

      ReplyDelete
    24. I still wonder why Sweetie Belle didn't get her cutie mark for that last long...

      ReplyDelete
    25. I approve wholeheartedly of the rainbow tail at the end (and not in that way, you perverts).

On a semi-related note: is anyone else somewhat intrigued by the "Dan Vs." show this guy has done trailers for as well? Because I didn't even know The Hub had shows aimed so specifically at older audiences like that.

    27. Anything that gives me an excuse to watch ponies singing is good enough for me.

      ReplyDelete
    28. @relias

Unless they've made a non-horrible version of the CMC theme, it occurs to me that that might not be the best way to advertise the show.

      @DavidReinold

You know, that might not be as far-fetched as you'd think. The guy's got quotes on his Bandcamp account from Daniel Ingram himself, so he's definitely been noticed.

      ReplyDelete
    29. I like how they all end with Rainbow Dash's tail. :)

Well, the cuts in Hush Now were kinda awkward, but cant have everything in 30 seconds.

      Dash face! /)^3^(\

    35. I suppose they're well selected clips. I mean, it's pretty much just good parts from the show with logos put on either end.

      ReplyDelete
    36. Don't spoil the good parts in your commercials >_<

    38. Not bad, those special ads take time so you need a bit of quick filler. And the songs got alot of people into the show, I guess its a good place to start.

      ReplyDelete
    39. So it is not the most original amazingly spectacular commercial ever, but anything that promotes MLP is great in my book.

      ReplyDelete
    40. I like them. If I were coming in cold having never seen an episode I would be thinking "Holy crap, any show that has this music, WHY AM I NOT WATCHING IT?!

A very similar thing happened when I first saw the PMV "Nothing suits me like a suit." I had only vaguely heard of the show "How I met your mother" before that, but learning that the song originated on that show led me to conclude that I needed to check it out, because the song was awesome and any show that featured it had to be worth watching.

      ReplyDelete
    41. I dunno about you guys, but I would flip my shit if Winter Wrap Up suddenly started playing on my TV.

      ReplyDelete
    42. I, for one, will stop fast-forwarding the commercial to listen to ponies sing. Especially Fluttershy.
