• Flash Game: Fiends from Dream Valley

The auditions for voiceover work on The Fiends From Dream Valley have come to a close.

Apparently they had 1000 auditions...yah, that's crazy.   Wish my voice didn't suck! I would have given it a shot.

If you guys are interested in checking out the winners, check out the video after the break! And be sure to stick around after the credits.  The game definitely looks really slick.

    1. Wow those voices were incredible! Especially that Big Mac, spot on, and did I hear James from Pokemon in there? Oh man this game is gonna be great.

    2. ^ Haha thats what I was thinking. Man James was my favorite voice actor from the Pokemon series! Needless to say, I'm excited

    5. Looking at the video, I now realize that this game is no joke.

This thing would sell even if it cost 30 dollars a piece.

    6. Oh wow, all those voices were great! Both the new ones and the two returning characters were just perfect. And the character animation at the end looked very smooth as well.

    7. PAHAHAHA! LORD TURRETES! XD

    8. Wait, there were submission guidelines?

...shit. I just pulled out an old Big Mac audition for some other thing and said, "Here, use it if you wanna." Didn't even bother to cut out the intro I did specifically for that other project.

That's probably why I didn't make the cut. XD

    9. Edwyn Tiong?! DUDE THAT IS AWESOME!!!! Top of the line voice actors!

    10. Wow! The ditsy doo animation at the end was pretty good! I wonder what the game will be about.....hhmmm......

    11. A thousand auditions? lol Well, that's about right for most broad VO work as a whole. Except that's usually per character. XD Looks like a fun game.

    12. Aw... I didn't make it. I should really get off my ass and apply for more voice stuff and not spend all my time anticipating responses from ones I've already auditioned for.
(I still say my Steven Magnet's better, though that could very well be jealousy talking)

    14. >engine demo starts
      >barrel falls on Derpy's head

This is why we can't have nice things.

    17. I suppose it's no one on the team's fault, but I submitted an early audition -before- the rules were announced, after asking the project leader what to submit. I was told to just send in a sample of my voice and imitations of the characters, and then was never replied to. I had no status updates on whether I was to send in a new audition following the rules, or whether my initial audition was ever received. I know it must have been hellish to deal with 1,000 auditions, but I still feel like I received a somewhat raw deal, even I wasn't what they were looking for.

...Okay. I think I'm finally done making any more complaints about the whole audition process. (I'm probably just bitter because a very similar 'thing' happened to the last two projects I auditioned for... orz)

The male voices are some excellent stuff. I can imagine they got way more male auditions than female ones, and so probably had a lot bigger pool to pick from. Game engine looks beautiful as always. And the notion that "Fiends from Dream Valley" is only a first chapter in what could be more games sounds great...! MLP:FiM just has, like, the best, most creative fan community ever!

I have to tell you all something unrelated, but important. I live in Lincoln, Nebraska, and at the Super Target near my house, they have TONS of pony merch. Tote bags, socks, toys, note pads, markers, stickers, magnets, almost everything. Announcement over. I might buY this game if it ever comes out, though.

    19. For the people saying they heard James from Team Rocket:

James was voiced by Eric Stuart, and the closest voice I could hear to that was Mark Hulmes.

Sorry to burst any bubbles, but that was NOT James.

    21. I'm very excited to be working on this project (that was me as Big Mac). It's not very often a fan run project is this well organized and professional.

The other actors I've heard are great! Congrats all around.

    22. The V.A.'s are impressive and the gameplay looks fluid.
Can't wait till we get to see more of the characters and plot.
This fandom is crazy and scary but it makes awesome and stellar work.

    24. When I heard the name Yamino, I knew it was famillier. Then I got throught the video and she mentioned her webcomic, SISTER CLAIR which I friggan LOVE! I can't believe she's doing work on this game! EPIC

    25. ...I HIGHLY doubt they received 1,000 separate auditions in the short time span they were open. I received just under seventy for MLM, and that was a feat in and of itself. Amateur voice actors are hard to come by...

Congrats to all who were cast, though! I'm sure it'll be an excellent game!

    28. This keeps getting more and more interesting as it progresses. I'm just curious about how big this going to be. For over a dozen voice actors, the games must have some length to it to make good use of them.

    32. Wow, those voices sounded amazing. Very professional. The voice actors for already established character were spot on and I can't wait to see who the other voices are for.

As in Omahdon Edwyn Tiong?! O_o

...This is going to rock, isn't it?

    34. Damn, didn't make it. D: Oh well, I shouldn't be surprised, I normally suck at these things and I'd think this would be a boost of morale, but it's the inverse really.

Will I try it again when another chapter comes? Maybe. Probably not, leave the voice work for the pros. foreveruntalented.jpg
