They've tried to spread the awareness of the show as best as they can.
going by two data points each, extrapolated linearly, we should reach 2000000 when forever alone is at 1,993,824. Basically, this is going to come to a hair.
I think some trolls on /b/ or somewhere are auto-refreshing the Forever Alone page, because it's suddenly jumped to within 20,000 pageviews of two mil, and ponies still have about 45k views to go.
The irony is, that the if the trolls beat ponies to 2 mil, they will have permanently marked their lives with a stain that cannot be removed. Years from now, they'll look back on their empty lives and see how sad it was to support a meme page that takes the piss out of their unsatisfying lives - and oppose a meme page that expresses the true meaning of friendship.
TL;DR even if Forever Alone gets the 2 mil marker, Ponies will still win the number one spot. Loneliness will be overthrown and a new era consisting of peace and friendship shall rise.
Worst thing is, with the update speed of KYM they might both pass 2 million during the same update.
