It looks like they are finally making their way over to the USA after almost a half a year of waiting. These specific ones were located at a Wal-Mart in San Antonio, TX for two bucks a pop.

From what I can tell, Kentucky and the southeast are behind the rest of the country. Today was the first time I saw blindbags (At Toys R Us, natch) and I snatched up the Mane 6 (Minus Rarity, who was located 2 Wal-Marts later) and the Glittery 3 from Set 1.
ReplyDeleteThe Walmart on Iowa in Lawrence, KS has these now; I haven't checked the other one. Naturally, after checking every week when I went grocery shopping, they were already completely sold out. (And I wasn't the only person who checked while I was there, heh.)

It's the same Wave 1 ponies, but they tweaked the numbers. Oddly, you kust look at numbers 2 and 4 I think, and read them like the old numbers, discarding numbers 1, 3, and 5.
These things are impossible to get. A friend of mine does customs for these and I've been trying to find some for her and all the local WalMarts I can get to don't even have the boxes for them set up. My sister managed to get the last one in the WalMart I couldn't get to. I think it's a little ridiculous that the stores by me can't keep these in stock. I think they're only ordering one box a week.

Does anyone know if wallmart is not selling them anymore? I went to my normal one and the box isn't there anymore (i've checked the past few weeks), and then while traveling in a few different towns i stopped by two more and the only thing i found was a empty box. It also seems they are not stocking any mlp merchandise, the shelfs look empty.

We all now know there are NEW codes up, and that they are the same code, in disguise. For those looking for these, I compiled a basic text listing of both the old codes, new code, and the names of the pony. I have seen them still available in New Ulm, MN. I bought 3 glitter ponies last night just because I felt like getting a couple more of them!
ReplyDeleteThe reason we are seeing so many empty aisles in July, is that August is the time when new merch comes out. I've already seen 30% off clearance signs on MLP stuff at Target. All the new playsets like the Royal Canterlot Wedding related toys will be coming out in a month (Though Toys-R-Us already has the huge Talking Princess Cadance. I get her 2 weeks ago). There's also a good chance that the playful ponies lineup will cycle again, bringing us Trixie and Lyra, and a couple HasbrOCs! TRU will also get the White Talking Princess Celestia and the Nightmare Moon Collector's Set (Both can be pre-ordered right now from TRU).
There is also some rumor that Hasbro will begin to start phasing out the Wave 1 BLind Bags in favor of the Wave 2 sets. The MLP Fair Hasbro Q&A that happened recently made mention that Wave 2 and 3 are planned for release, and that we will definitely see at least one of them in 2012.
Even http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com has a sale going on, and have already begun listing some of the new toys, such as the Wedding castle playset, Talking Cadance, Flower Fillies, and Glimmer wing Daisy Dreams and Fluttershy.
Hasbro also sells the COMPLETE blind bag set for $46.99, and it IS guaranteed to contain EVERY one of Wave 1 blind bag figures.

Now, as far as codes go, if you are searching stores...
The codes are located UNDER the seal flap, just next to the hanger hole. IGNORE all the numbers on the seam at the bottom of the bag. They are meaningless to you. If you look at the packaging at the back, the number will be near Lily Blossom, underneath the flap. You'll understand it when you see it.
The longer code is actually the EXACT SAME code, but with extra numbers:
xx or 2x4x5 (where xx represents the ID code)

Do not put this off... Considering that Even Hasbro's own site is cycling product, and stores are clearing out old product, it's probably time to jump at this and not waste any more time. Wave 2 will likely be here soon, though no official dates are known. August is OFFICIALLY going to bring new product all across the MLP product line, and some is already available now.
If you are a completionist collector (such as myself) and want to get ALL THE PONIES, but you do not have a whole lot of bits on hoof, then do not worry about the Mane 6 for now. I KNOW they are the most important of all the ponies, but for that very reason, they will ALWAYS be available, regardless of what Wave of ponies are out. If you miss them on Wave 1, just get the Mane 6 with Wave 2. They will be available. Pick up the HasbrOCs if you have any interest in them while you can. When they are gone, they will become far more rare, and finding them will become more costly.
Go forth, my brony friends! Buy ALL the ponies!!! :D
