I prefer to read the silent ponyville stories all at once. Does anyone know if Silent Ponyville 3 is only 3 chapters long, or is it incomplete?

The first story is absolutely EXCELLENT. Very psychological while getting gripping and terrifying and actually, given the context of the story, it's safe even for those who usually hate Grimdark stuff (like me).
The second story is also, good, but nowhere near as good as the first one. A lot of elements, including a romance between Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, as well as a lot of the elements given to Fluttershy's past, all feel somewhat forced. Also, there isn't nearly as clever a basis for the story, seeing how Fluttershy really hasn't had anywhere near a horrific grimdark fic to make reference and interpretations of like Pinkie Pie. That being said, the horror and psychology are still pulled off really really well and the story is still very gripping. Worth a read at least.
The explanation fic after that one that explains the nature of the major macguffin in the story is clever and well thought out. Not horror, but interesting read.
The third story, well, I haven't read it yet of course, but with his track record I expect it to be good.

YMMV on that. I still find Silent Ponyville 2 to be the best fic in the entire fandom.

I was so pumped when I read "Twixie Manehattan fic" because I made the erroneous assumption that he meant The Ballad of Twilight Sparkle. Now imagine how crushed I was when I found out that it is NOT among the updated stories.......I'm going to bed now.

I'm generally a fan of grimdark because it strips some of childish flavor off stories and brings up more adult motives, just like psychological ones. Unfortunately, it's often written by very young people who generally don't get how things work in real life and I end up with some silly, naive reading o) That's why I wanted opinion from an adult (and because I found the original Silent Hill to be a little silly).
Oh and if you'd like some grimdark Fluttershy, read Blood is Thicker than Friendship. I pretty much mention this fic in every other fic-related comment but it's simply that good!

Heritagu is clearly very creative, and I love the way that the symbolism in the stories here is usually revealed at the end. At the same time, however, I REALLY feel like he needs a better editor. The amount of typos, run on sentences, the adverbs... they kind of make the narrative lose power because it feels clumsy. In Silent Ponyville 2, for example, Fluttershy does everything "softly". She smiles softly, sighs softly, whimpers softly, puts things down softly, sometimes all within the same paragraph. Or "sadly". In "On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft", Stephen King suggests to avoid using these words as much as possible or they'll start cropping up in your work like weeds in a garden.
I don't mean to come across as harsh, and clearly everyone else isn't as critical as I am. Like I said, it's obvious that a lot of thought goes into the crafting of these stories and the way things are revealed, and it's handled with much more care and cleverness than I anticipated.
