It's not like I can cast a spell that'll prevent an inanimate object oozing with powerful magics from causing uncontrollable things to happen. That's something only the Princesses can cast.
So far it seems as if season 2 is going to be a grab-bag of Wham episodes, Drama Bombs, dangerously skirting the line of Jumping the Shark / Nothing Is The Same, all being subverted by Status Quo is God / Happily Ever After. Either way, this could be the season that makes or breaks the series, and only one thing is for certain: It's going to be one hell of a ride.
ReplyDeleteBut then again, there were plenty of season 1 episodes I found to be painful to watch the first time that I loved afterwards. But the sounds of this, and S2E3 just seem a bit out there at first. Did anypony else feel like there was just a bit too much going on visually in S2E3, btw? The opening especially caught me off-guard in this respect. Looks like Hasbro wanted a reason to have a toy train set and shoe-horned it in there. And it ignores the way trains were presented in Over A Barrel.
It's entirely possible that I'm just way over-thinking things.

ReplyDeleteThe problem is this: if they DO actually get their cutie marks, they are no longer the Cutie Mark
Crusaders. Their blank flanks are what brought them together and are the central theme of their adventures.
While we can assume they will all eventually get their cutie marks, with plenty of room for aesops and friendship lessons along the way, I'm hoping they won't rush that.
It's kind of like when Mork & Mindy got married. A lot of fans wanted that, but once it happened, that was it. Shark thoroughly jumped. Now what? An important series dynamic changed and the show was never the same after that.
The Cutie Mark Crusaders get their cutie marks? Someday, but as Aragorn might say, it is not this day!
Or so I pray. :-)

I'm gonna be pissed if they don't make more Rainbow episodes this season, because the only one we had last season was Sonic Rainboom, and in that one a certain white unicorn ended up stealing a ton of the spotlight so it really couldn't be considered a completely Rainbow episode. Meanwhile the CMC have Stare Master, Show Stoppers, The Cutie Mark Chronicles, and now THIS?!?

Of course this became a conflict with how I "normally" handled myself around my family, thus I fractured my self into 3 persona's.

@Dash-Cash i think Scootaloo should get a parody of the Avian flu, since it's a running joke in the fandom she keeps being referred to or referring different birds. She's been called a chicken, and a dodo, then moat recently she referred to Twilight as a cuckoo. So Scootaloo getting sick with a disease that would turn her into a combo of thse 3 birds or more, would be hilarious IMO.
