• My Little Pony LiveEvent: Video

You may be familiar with the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic live show. We reported on it being toured around a while a go, at least. One brony got curious, and brought a camera to the proceedings. The results are... interesting. It involves a lot of quoting the show and some singing. If you're curious, check it out after the break! Thanks to the brony with the confusing number of account names for bravely venturing forth into the world to capture this for our amusement.

    2. ...Yikes.

Not only do the costumes look ugly, but the costumes makers didn't even bother to put the cutiemarks on both sides of the costumes. I can see why Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie decided not to attend this event.

    3. Am I the only one who finds it ironic that a pony is wearing her mane in pig tails?

    6. Nope, not even ponies can't make these live event costumes any less terrifying.

    8. After 5 minutes, I shut it off and began buying a pony costume I can customize for Halloween.
Thank you, everypony in the concert, for being scary enough to give me an idea.

    11. @The Dread Pirate Roberts

I think your more disturbed by the fact that part of the furry fandom likes ponies more than the fursuit. Those suits cost around $500-$700 and were very well done. Fursuits by and large are cartoony and given anatomy over form just about the best you can do if you want the suiter to be able to move normally.

    15. It's a god awful performance if you're over 6, but it sounds like the kids like it at least

    17. This is not nearly as bad as the comments had me believe. Not great, but nothing requiring any brain bleach.

    18. What I find funny are the people who thing it's the actual voice actors in the costumes...

    19. thats only slightly nightmare inducing.

    22. As much as everypony's slamming this, I would never be prouder than if I was on stage. Mostly because I love wearing giant costumes, but being Best Pony Dash or Twilight or AJ would only be a huge plus. I'll just have to settle for bit parts in a non-pony show till somepony decides to give me my wings.

At some points, the voices could've been better, but I liked the chorus, particularly because the chorus from the show's At the Gala kinda hid the chorus. It literally took till three-four weeks ago for me to notice there was actually a male chorus in the background and not just during Rarity's opening.
I was also expecting Dashie to stumble during the 'take-off', eventually be able to fly, and the actor would hide behind the staging while a miniature Dashie would circle over the stage.

    23. From a Mascot designers POV I see how it is all manipulated... I feel for the performers in the costumes. It is Outside in the Prarie Heat..

If I was there.. I would donate mt reefer trailer for the 'headless lounge' and set that to 50F. Just to cool off the performers

    24. Oh Christ... I'm not sure how that was supposed to be entertaining. I did however, like when AJ said "Keep.. buckin'.. Just a few.. More.." At 9:43. I got a chuckle out of it. Haha, and try just listening to the sound during that part! Hilarious.

    25. Keeping in mind it IS for kids, even a kid would notice that they have no necks! It doesn't even have to be long, they just need to at least have one.

    28. Jajajajajaja! Holy Smokes!!! It may be bad, but it was worth the laughing. Besides, I think we've all seen worse.

    29. Ok... if you really wanna know my opinion... (catches breath)

the ponies look ugly, where is applejack's hat?, the hind legs are broken and so are their necks, where is pinkie, rarity and fluttershy? the heads are too big and they look too fat

but... you know... whatever they wanna do is fine

    30. First reaction: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHGGHGHGHGGH !+!!!!%/!!!

Note 1: I'm a knife collector (yes a strange hobby). The showcase of about 30 various hunting and pocket knives are next to my PC.
As I was watching this...THING, I kept looking at my Alaskan Hunter and wondering if I should stab it in the screen or myself to end the misery.

Note 2: I think just by watching part 1 I have destroyed more nerve cells than I did along my university years.

Note 3: I propose we raise money to cover the costs of medical treatment for the brave brony who endured this in real life.

    31. You probably had to be there, but I found it a lot of fun (if only to sing and dance along to the songs). The cheesiness was expected, it's a kid's stage performance after all

      ReplyDelete
    32. Ooooh, I see how it is Twilight Applejack and RainbowDash. You'll look at Pinkie weird when she sings it, but it's definitely okay for you three to sing it to eachother happily out of her earshot.

      Hyponycrites <_<

    33. It IS horrible, but there isn't much room for improvement there.

Ok, maybe there is. Not in the environment they were, though.
