I can't enjoy the rest of this drawfriend until I figure this out, dadgummit!

Oh, no, it's not canon. It's just that it suits her so well with red eyes, it's become widely accepted.
I don't have a problem with DJ-PON3's red eyes, but I do think it'll take a while to get used to them if red becomes their accepted color.
Also, I wonder what Luna sat in as a little filly to get her hind quarters permanently dark? I mean, nopony else has markings like that until they get their cutie mark. Even then it's just a small magic tattoo. Hmmm... (ellipsis)

God, it took me five minutes to realize you weren't talking about shipping.. I mean Granny Smith? WTF. Seariously, I'd pair Zecora with Twilight, or an older Applebloom, maybe Trixie (after she runs from Ponyville), or if you wanted to go OC then Ruby (the ghost girl pony from the Story of the Blanks game). But that's just me.
