Chat Room Is Back!

Because reviving old projects when I finally get an email break is a great idea.

You can find it at the bottom of the page, it's hosted externally so you may need to modify your blockers/noscipts/whatever.

I wont be responding much for a few!

Does anyone know the password to the chat or I'm supposed to create an account for it?

Can I suggest using something like Rizon's webchat or similar, at least something that exposes more of the IRC backend to the chat and doesn't make you googlesearch for the actual address to point a client at? :)

I might mess around with an IRC version later on. This is just a fast one for fun.

@Sethisto
Any chance of a non-flash version? My iPod won't support it.

You can use any IRC client to connect to this chat, however it requires a bit of extra effort. It seems the server only allows clients that send "ewcflash rambler" as username and "EveryWhereChat Rambler 2.1.732". As for IP and port, 184.72.218.23 port 7000 work for me but YMMV (the service is hosted in the cloud so you never know.. ask a pegasus if you want to be sure).
I haven't tested any clients except for netcat and irssi. Be aware that irssi requires a small patch to src/irc/core/irc-servers.c to allow spaces in usernames.

This is only a workaround for the more tech-savvy bronies, so to help the rest it would be cool if you moved this to a network that doesn't have such restrictrions.

In any case, I'll be glad to be of assistance.

@Anonymous
meant to say:
and "EveryWhereChat Rambler 2.1.732" as real name.
