• A Pink Floyd Collaborative Effort

I know that's Dark Side of the Moon, shut up.

A pony over at Ponychan is undertaking the rather daunting task of creating a PMV for every song on Pink Floyd's The Wall. He is gathering other ponies who want to contribute to this project to potentially take up some of the slack if there's a particular song somepony wants to do. That sentence barely makes sense. I just woke up, sue me.

    The Ponychan thread is here.

    2. Wha?

I know "The Wall" is full of awesome songs, but how did this happen BEFORE Dark Side of the Moon? It's like, the greatest concept album ever!

    3. By "The Wall" do they mean the actual album or the movie soundtrack?

    4. Sounds awesome. It reminds me of the comments I made on the drawfriend with the picture of pinky pie crossed over with division bell. I think I posted a ponified version of welcome to the machine on it, but I don't remember. Wasn't good, but beside the point. Actually I have no point... Just looken foward to seeing their work.

I'd assume they mean the album. I'm unaware of any movie soundtrack since the movie was an abbreviated version of the album with no new or altered songs. Perhaps your questioning whether their parodying the movie or the songs?

I actually enjoy The Wall more than DSotM, if only for the story element. Also the guy on ponychan said that there was someone else doing DSotM PMVs and didn't want to impose (or something of that nature). Also I want this now.

Actually the film soundtrack includes the song When the Tigers Broke Free and actually a lot of the songs were rerecorded and either extended or shortened from the album version, the one that springs to my mind first is that In the Flesh has Bob Geldof (played Pink in the film) on lead vocals. The song Hey You was also removed I believe.

      DSotM is already being done?

Well then I am in total support of this!

      very interesting

personally I don't see a point in there being a movie soundtrack, the movie was good since it was a movie, but to convert the movie to a soundtrack and weigh it against the original album is a joke

it's been years since I seen the movie, I remember "Hey You" not being in the movie, but I could of forgotten, highly doubt that though

    12. Now all we need is for someone to upload the actual movie with all of the animated segments replaced by ponies.

By soundtrack I mean the audio for the film, it was never actually released for sale, for probably the same reason you mentioned.

    17. Ummm...As much as I love Pink Floyd, don't you think The Wall is a kinda too DARK and DEPRESSING for MLP:FiM?

      ReplyDelete
    18. I heard that if you watch most of season 1 while playing Dark Side of the Moon, it totally synchs up...

    19. I feel like this is a bad idea. I can't imagine someone doing this without reusing the same few clips over and over again. This guy had better be a PMV editing wizard.

    20. Why did it have to be the Wall? :( I mean, it's not a bad album, but there are much better from PF. Maybe it was for the story element?

Probably because its one of their two most well known works.

HONK HONK HERE COMES THE SCIENCE WAGON HONK

Violet light would undergo dispersion to a far greater extent, and should therefore be bent *more* as it passes through the prism. Red should emerge on top, and violet on the bottom, with the other colors filling in the gaps in the spectrum in-between.

While we're on the subject PONIES CAN'T FLY AND LEAVE RAINBOW CONTRAILS, WHAT IS THIS BULLSH

Nice job on the cover though btw.

I can picture "Run Like Hell" already.

    24. Ugh. I was excited when I saw the image, but now I'm just upset. I've despised The Wall with the heat of 10,000 suns for many, many, many years now.

Mostly because the song "Another Brick in the Wall" is the anthem for every retarded anti-intellectual asshole in the world (yes I know it's actually just a metaphor, but the idiots of the world don't know that, now do they?).
