John Joseco (take a shot) is amazing. But you knew this.
How about the game so far? It's been amazingly competitive so far. I came into it really worried about Gronkowski's ankle, but he was huge in that first half drive. But what about you guys? Anypony watching the game? Who are you rooting for?
Final Score: Patriots 17, Giants 21. All of my hate.
Discuss how bad the Jets are below.

Still hate both of these teams, Gah so conflicted right now -.-
ReplyDeleteI wonder why EqD feels the need to provide big money free advertising. Oh well.
ReplyDelete@lesserpoet
ReplyDeleteTHing was Bradshaw DIDN'T want to score then. He wanted to draw out another play, but when he wasn't blocked he had too much momentum to stop at the one. He really didn't want to score then.
@Remy
ReplyDeleteI actually think I saw some Patriot players PUSHING him in at the end, too.
I'm Eli! I'm Peyton! We're the world famous Manning brothers!
ReplyDelete@The Invincible
ReplyDeleteYea, I thought they shoulda' give it Manningham.
@The Invincible
ReplyDeleteThey were gonna push him in, if he didn't go in.
I only cared for the ads myself.
ReplyDeleteThe game and teams, less so.
Cheerleader Celestia needs to make more appearances!!
ReplyDeleteHooray for Giants!
ReplyDeleteOh, and Ponies!
I feel you phoe.
ReplyDeleteFuuuuu.jpg
@Remy
ReplyDeleteand @Ikusa GT, @The Invincible, etc.
If that was his aim, (and to be fair, I'm in Austria, and watching in a language I don't quite capture so well), then maybe it wasn't disrespect, but terrible strategy. That's fine, but stupid. In that situation points on the board are far more important than running down the clock on a team that has been shit against your pass defense all damn night (not to mention dropping everything that came their way), with no time outs and less than a minute on the clock.
That's not what I saw.
What I saw was a half-hearted effort to take time off the clock and then a disrespectful gesture in an otherwise honorable game.
Sorry to disagree, that's just how I see it.
@EngineerBrony
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to do a pictue of Fluttershy in a cheerleader outfit. From Sonic Rainboom.
Giants!
ReplyDeleteFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
ReplyDeleteMan at least this will make me feel better...
ReplyDeleteJ-E-T-S suck, suck, suck!
(if welker had caught that pass... ugh.)
The Neightriots lost the Stable Bowl
ReplyDeleteGiants!
ReplyDeleteOne of the best super Bowls I've seen. Competitive, went to the down wire, ended in crap shoot hail in the end zone.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of either team, but I rooted for the NY Giants.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is an even bigger football fan than I am and she loves the Giants. I even bought a jersey for her last Christmas. So it was only fair that I root for her team.
Hail Mary
ReplyDeleteCalifornia congratulates New York.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so who's going to edit the MetLife commercial so that Pinkie or Derpy is in the mix?
ReplyDeleteOf course, Fluttershy was too busy watching the Puppy Bowl.
ReplyDeleteI think she's the type of pony to see that.
Tom Brady...if I had the chance to say something to him it would be this: Your Coach is a Cheater, your Rings are a Lie, You Backup from Michigan. Go Cowboys!
ReplyDeleteTexans fan here: I'm glad the patriots lost cuz I despise them!!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://baschfire.tumblr.com/post/17134530474/dang-no-wonder-the-giants-won
ReplyDeleteThat's all
Being an Australian, I neither understand nor care about American Football. Bring on the Australian Football League (AFL)!
ReplyDeletehuge Giants fan here hold on WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
ReplyDeleteI only watch My Little Pony for the commercials.
ReplyDelete@floof cat
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda hoping somepony does that as well
haha u should have seen my family's reaction
ReplyDelete*Aunt jumps up and cheers
Dad goes into depression
and my uncle leaves and hides somewhere*
What now all of New England! >:D
ReplyDeleteThis somewhat soothes the pain from having the Ravens ousted by New England.
ReplyDeleteAlso made for a good impromptu birthday gift for myself.
So, uh, thanks, Giants.
sports...and ponies?! something's wrong with the internet...
ReplyDelete@80and56
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya there, brony. What made it extra satisfying is that the Patriots lost in the exact same way the Ravens lost. It was like, poetic justice.
Oh boo. Boston now has extended their championship drought to 8 months. I think the fans will live and not need to burn down the city.
ReplyDeleteI dislike the Giants as an Eagles' fan, but it pleases me to no end as a Bills fan to see the Patriots lose.
As much as I don't like both teams, I was rooting for Eli to win mainly because the neigh-sayers (Brony haters I know) are Patriot fans.
ReplyDeleteThey must be pissed and now I'll troll them of their failures lol.
Didn't care one way or the other personally, but I would have liked for the Patriots to get a last-minute touchdown just for the reactions. XD
ReplyDeleteThat physically hurt to watch. Brady gave his receivers four opportunities to catch in the end zone right at the end, and they threw them all away.
ReplyDeleteI foresee a lot of trading away from the Patriots next season...
@The Invincible
ReplyDeleteI'm still kinda steamed that that loss had to happen when Flacco finally outplayed Tommy Boy, too.
I just thought of something else. It brings me infinite happiness as a Ravens fan to know that Chad Ochocinco will go the rest of his career without ever getting a Super Bowl ring. It's a special feeling...
ReplyDeleteand Like predicted. the giants won! woooo!
ReplyDeleteTuck should be MVP of the game. Oh, and the Jets sucks xD
ReplyDeleteWhy can I so easily imagine Celestia being that big of a fan?
ReplyDeleteJets are pownage... Sanchez dragged them down
ReplyDeleteThank you Superbowl for getting me out of work early.
ReplyDeleteOh, I guess I can dump on the Jets a bit.
ReplyDeleteThey poach Baltimore's players and can't play 'em right.
Copycats.
I just hope Indy doesn't start doing that too.
Cowboys fan here. Sniff... I'm sad. It's been sixteen years now. I despise both of these teams, and wish that they could have tied. Forever. Why, oh why can't we have nice things?
ReplyDeleteWell, I was a neutral party, so I just wanted a good game. I was not disappointed. Only thing that could have made that any better would have been a Rainbow Dash Super Bowl commercial.
ReplyDelete>Reads entire comments section.
ReplyDelete>No references to a certain pony video.
>Is disappoint.
JOHNMADDEN JOHNMADDEN JOHNMADDEN FOOTBALL
>Fixed. :3
No Ravens, no emotional investment in this game. I'd been just has happy to see the Patriots win. The commercials were decent at least. That post-apocalyptic Chevrolet commercial was awesome.
ReplyDeleteBrady lost, that is all that matters.
ReplyDeleteAnd it is a good thing...go cry a river Brady.
Tom Brady: I just don't know what went wrong!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get a custom painted purple pony with a gold mane (or vice-versa). Skol, pony!
Blasted safety (on the FIRST PLAY), you killed the Patriots.
ReplyDelete...and damn you Eli Manning.

ReplyDeleteOh, you know what's always cool?
ReplyDeleteVictor Cruz's salsa TD dance.
I like watching that just as much as I loved watching Derrick Mason's TD celebration (which a some others seem to roll their eyes at).
John Madden
ReplyDelete@mycutiemarkisagun
ReplyDeleteCorrection: Rex Ryan is terrible (well, and Mark Sanchez).
Despite my team being knocked out of the playoffs by the Colts suddenly remembering that you win football games by scoring touchdowns, I'm happy with the Giants win. 'Tis hard to root for the regular curb-stompers of the AFC (sorry, Phoe).
FUCK YES
ReplyDeleteFUCKING SUPER BOWL
I FEEL INVICIBLE
Woohoo! It'll be fun to watch sports discussion shows again! No more overwhelming focus on the Patriots! ('Til late next season).
ReplyDeleteHeat lost, Rangers lost, Pats lost, Canucks lost, it's a frontrunner's worst nightmare, tee-hee.
Don't care about the Super Bowl. Only care about the commercials! ;)
ReplyDeleteStill, I LOVE Celestia in that picture!
I didn't see pinkie pie in that photo so its no real party.
ReplyDeleteeat it Tom Brady! So glad Giants won
ReplyDeletePats SOOOOO should have made that final Hail Mary pass. That would have gone down in history forever.
ReplyDelete*FOREEEEVVVEEEERRRRRR*
I can't say the Giants don't deserve the title, though. I'm gettin so much grief at school tomorrow...
Meh, Superbowl. try working at a place that hosts a game party and you will learn to cringe at the meer mention of this time of year. And its been several years since i even worked there. Granted I like the image. The one on the end of the couch seems to have his eyes on the proper thing in these sporting events though.

Next Year the Buccaneers will win... What are the people from the insane asylum doing here NOOOOOOO!!!

ReplyDeleteGo Yabkees!
ReplyDeleteGiants won. Patriots lost.
ReplyDeleteDEAL WITH IT.
@Phoe
ReplyDeleteRight there with you. All my hate, Giants...
I am so freakin' sick of my teams losing. First the Red Sox collapse, the Celtics struggle, and now the Pats blow the Super Bowl to the freakin' Giants, one of my least favorite teams, AGAIN! What is there left? The NHL? Soccer?
ReplyDeleteI'm about ready to give up on sports forever, cept for the Olympics.
GO GIANTS WOO!
ReplyDelete@Torch621
ReplyDeleteAww, come on, my friend, there was a year there where y'all had Three titles. ;}
Can New York just leave America already?
ReplyDelete@Remy
ReplyDeleteAnd now I think all we have to look forward too is title droughts and mediocrity.
Isn't it a great day to be a New England sports fan?
Am I the only one who noticed the tiny chubby Dashie furball thing on the table?
ReplyDelete@Torch621
ReplyDeleteI await the day I can wear my Red Sox hat once again with a smile.
WOO Go Giants! I'm glad the team that beat my Niners won the bowl. Can't wait till Canada Day when the CFL season starts up.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWhelp, since my Chiefs weren't there, I guess I can write this one off....
ReplyDeleteSo yeah, John Joseco! (take another shot)
@Phoe
ReplyDeleteYou have now become my favorite blog pony.
We are all in the same boat now, and it isn't going to be a fun boat. This is going to be that cruise liner that had the dumb as s*** captain that turned of the computer guidance system, crashed it, and abandoned ship. What I mean is we feel your pain, and we all share it.
Stupid Eli. Stupid Jets. STUPID EVERYTHING! GAH! *storms off*
And that, my friends, is why Indianapolis is, and forever will be,
ReplyDeletethe Kingdom of Man(ning).
Thanks to both teams for giving us a great game,
Congrats to Eli and the Giants on their hard-fought victory,
And here's to hoping Peyton can finish his career with one more Superbowl victory.
Go Colts!
WOO Go Giants! I'm glad the team that beat my Niners won the bowl. Can't wait till Canada Day when the CFL season starts up.
ReplyDeleteHaha, going against the Giants. I enjoy seeing you all upset.
ReplyDeleteI've learned over the last six months that the power of love, tolerance, and friendship is a driving force behind all the good things that happen in this world. I was very pleased with the result of this game, and I must say that both teams played fiercely and professionally to the very end. I congratulate the Giants, commend the Patriot's effort, and wish well upon fans of either team.
ReplyDeleteBut with that out of the way, GIANTS WIN WOOOOOO! TAKE THAT BRADY AND YOUR STUPID BIEBHAIR
I'm basically required to cheer for the Broncos, but the Pats are way higher on my list than then Giants. Would've liked to have seen it go into overtime, but hey, and least it was close.
ReplyDeleteI know quite a few people losing a considerable amount of money on this happening, so that's a tad funny too.
Also, I say we ponify the NFL now.
ReplyDeleteI'm already working on a pic of the 2009 Indianapolis Colts Superbowl lineup as ponies.
I always knew Celestia was a cheerleader...
ReplyDeleteMan that game was close. If that final throw was caught, the guy who failed at NOT getting a touchdown was getting a pay cut. Lol
ReplyDeleteIntense game though, while im not much of a fan of either teams, I didnt feel like watching Tom Brady get another Superbowl victory, not after doing the Broncos in so hard. Lol
I'm Singaporean and I didn't catch the SUper Bowl, only because the Steelers weren't playing. :/
ReplyDeleteAnd not a single fuck was given by me that day.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time, posting here, kind of funny it's the SuperBowl post that I do my first post. Two key plays... all in the 4th quarter:
ReplyDeleteWes Welker not making the wide open play and Mario Manningham making the absolutely phenomenal sideline catch. Those two plays defined this SuperBowl. So...GGGGGGGGGGGGG-MMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!
If the regular season and playoffs pre-Superbowl didn't indicate Eli's 'elite' status...this does now. And as for Eli getting the MVP, Tuck or Manningham could've gotten it but from what I recall...the voters gave Eli the majority of the votes; Because of Eli's ability drive the ball downfield, I think he does deserve the MVP.
Go Giants!
@Prism Smasher
ReplyDeleteI've been planning a story for a while now about Rarity taking over the reins of Ponyville's football team, having learned the nuance and intricacies of the game from her father, a retired player and coach. Hoping to do it in comic form during the off-season.
@PartyLikeP0n3
ReplyDeleteStop rubbing it in my face =(
@Remy
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. I hope she gets used to the physicality of the game.
The hell? that jab at the Jets is uncalled for!
ReplyDelete@Torch621
ReplyDeleteNo ill will, brah. As big as a Giant fan I am, I appreciate a good game. So, if you're a Pat's fan...I shake your hand or hoof in having a great heart pounding game.
Don't care much for football. I usually just watch it for the commercials. My mom kept switching over to a Murder She Wrote marathon every time the game came back on.
ReplyDeleteThe reason you don't see the Mane 6 is because they watch Futbol, not Football. Don't blame them, that sport is intense
ReplyDeletePrincess trolestia bet 50 cents on the patriots, currently sending this message from the starbucks on the moon
ReplyDeleteSorry Phoe, but The Giant's rocked that stadium tonight!! XD
ReplyDeleteMy apologizes on the outcome for the Patriots...
Good job Giants, you were my pick to win the Super Bowl.
ReplyDeleteThat said, go Cowboys!
The Superbowl was really cool to watch, but it aint no Rugby World Cup
ReplyDelete@PartyLikeP0n3
ReplyDeleteGrowing up with it, I see her actually quite used to it. However, outbursts of exuberance are quite unbecoming of a lady, so that is where the problem will lie.
Jets do suck.
ReplyDeleteOverall a listless game between two listless teams in a listless stadium with listless commercials (Bud Light Platinum, rly?). Woulda loved Niners in there, would have at least been interesting.
Go Hawks!
Super what?
ReplyDeleteAt least the Jets have a pony(Jet Set), the only NFL pony that is canon.
ReplyDeletePretty much only watch it for the commercials, my parents were always better at covering it than me.
ReplyDeleteWound up missing most of it anyway though to blindbags, model building and watching/deleting shows so the DVR would have room to tape it.
Phoe! Love, toleration and friendship, Phoe...
ReplyDeleteJonshine
Oh hush.
ReplyDeleteThe Patriots were no longer deserving of greatness when their very first play of the game was an intentional downing resulting in a 2-point safety. Everything from then out was just a shuffle of defeated embarrassment at that.
On the plus side, Darth Vader kid makes a triumphant return in the commercials.
And some people don't live in america.
ReplyDeleteColts fan here, felt good to see the Pats denied a win in our stadium, by Peyton's brother.
ReplyDeleteOnly reason I kinda wanted Giants to win was so Eli could have more SBs then his big bro whom I hate with a passion.
ReplyDeleteLulz.
And he did it in his house. MOAR LULZ.
Other then that both teams can go take a dive into the ocean for all I care. ;p
Fair game. Wanted Pats to win (cause Steelers weren't there :/), but at least the Giants earned a good win.
ReplyDeleteAmerican 'football', what a joke.
ReplyDeleteLets Go Giants!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Eagles fan XD and I don't give two shit whoever one (I know it was the Giants) I hate both teams -.-
ReplyDeleteMeh, I prefer soccer.
ReplyDeleteoh cool
ReplyDeletesports are silly
Why is this sport called football? The ones who named it are really dumb.
ReplyDeleteMy friend's comic didn't get enough love.
ReplyDeletehttp://unoservix.deviantart.com/art/Super-Bowl-XLVI-282639323?offset=0#comments
Meh, who cares about hand egg
ReplyDeleteCelestia in the cheerleader outfit this morning makes my pain better. I don't even care who won now, I just want her to turn around. :3
ReplyDelete@lesserpoet, Actually, no. The last thing you want to do in that situation is allow Tom Brady to get the ball back. Especially with a full minute (and one timeout) to work the ball down the field. Ahmad Bradshaw tried to stop and knee the ball at the 1, forcing the Patriots to burn their final timeout. Had the touchdown been enough to make it a two-score game, yes, you go in. But with the touchdown only making it a 4-point margin (and had the 2-point conversion worked, a 6-point).
ReplyDeleteAnd leaving no timeouts and half a minute was the aim. Instead they left 1 timeout and over a minute, which is a very dangerous situation to leave any top-tier QB in. Especially when they had hardly dropped anything until the final drive (not "dropping the ball all game"). Anyone who thought that was disrespectful has no idea of the clock game part of American Football.
Sportland Sports! Number 1 in points!
ReplyDeleteLol, man does every brony hate football that much? Im not really a fan of football either but I love the superbowl. Im soooo glad the giants won. Not really a fan of that team but I HATE Tom Brady and the Patriots. Thank goodness the Giants won, Thank you guys for preventing me from hearing announers kiss Tom Brady's ass for another year!
ReplyDeleteARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!
ReplyDeleteEh... didn't watch. I don't like professional sports; they make me an awful person when I watch them. I really gave up on pro sports a good two years ago.
ReplyDeleteI was rooting for the commercials. A little disappointed this year. The vampires in the headlights, brown m&m, and the chevy apocalypse were my favorites
ReplyDeleteQuiet Phoe. Sanchez just needs to be deported and we'll be back on top! I think...
ReplyDelete>Posted by Phoe
ReplyDeletePhoe has stake in the superbowl? What the actual fuck. I never would have guessed that.
