• Toys: Canterlot Castle / MLP Tent

Sheltoon spotted this on MLP Arena.  These were found on that chinese website I linked a few days ago.  Apparently they are going to become target exclusives soon.

Sadly they are not the true show accurate toys most of us seek! At least Hasbro's marketing department knows about us now though, so maybe something will be on the horizon?

And a MLP Tent, discovered by Shelltoon.  Lazy kids these days don't even know how to make their own forts out of sheets and chairs!

    4. What's... What's with that tub thing going right through the middle of the tent?

    7. So, the castle comes with Twilight Sparkle... and a recolor of Twilight Sparkle? O.o

    8. @Beatledude64 Throw it away and buy a new one!

    9. I am suddenly intrigued by the possibility of building a brony fort, like a treehouse or something crazy like that. One way or another, my dream SHALL be realized!

    10. Sigh...
      Do defintly not want...

    11. I remember blanket forts from my youth now.

I love you. Best nostalgia ever.

    12. @Star Gazer
It's a play tent, it's designed to give children a reason to go outside during the summer and stay away from TVs and Vidya. It's hardly suitable for a proper camping trip, but in warm, summer weather, it's sufficient for back garden camping I suppose.

Oh seth, I share your pain, I remember the days when I too built indoor forts and tents out of bed covers, pillows, and chairs. The world just isn't the way it was in the good 'ol days...

      >coming from a guy well within the average age group of bronies

    13. @Anonymous So much Sparkle, you won't know what to do with it!

    14. Is it bad that I read the second name as "Starscream Twinkle"?

      ReplyDelete
    15. >Twilight Sparkle and Starbeam Twinkle
      >Over 25 accessories
      >Starbeam Twinkle is a recolor of Twilight

Anyone else imagining a creepy, stalker-ish, number-one-fan fiction involving Twilight and this recolor and the 25 accessories becoming terrifying instruments of torture? No?

      You are now.

    16. Oh yes, we once had a whole-room blanket fort hanging from chairs and beds. Thanks for reminding me, nostalgia feels good :)

    17. Ahh the chair fort
      So many memories

    19. What? A tent? How are we supposed to use that? The floor is made of lava!

      ReplyDelete
    20. @Anonymous
I would rather not read a fic where Twilight's crazy number-one fan chops off her hoof with an ax and cauterizes the wound with a blowtorch, thank you very much.

      ReplyDelete
    21. Wait a second. Shine Bright Twilight? Why can't they release her separately? D:

      ReplyDelete
    22. @ Anon 5.02

There are no axes or blowtorchs in the toy set, your argument is invalid.

      @ Alester

Because Hasbro know how to drive a hard sale, duh. Besides, if you want a Shine Bright Twilight that bad, you shouldn't complain - you can buy more poni in the process of buying your Twilight Sparkle

    23. I wish I could say I'm pitching tent here... But unfortunately that's not lighting my fire.

    24. I challenge any Bronies out there who play Darkon, Night Realms or any kind of LARPing that goes Camping: MAKE THAT YOUR TENT AND GET A PICTURE FOR US! xD

    25. @ GreenGuy

You and me both, ah Starscream, so hard up for attention you will even dress in drag and disguise yourself as a mare pony to plot your overthrow of Megatron. BWAHAHAHAHA! LOL

    26. It's been a while since I built a fort.
      ...
I know what I'm doing with the rest of my day! :D

    28. Now I wanna build a blanket fort...hrmm maybe once Trombe comes home tomorrow we can build one.

      ReplyDelete
    29. What is everypony talking about, "nostalgia"... you're not sitting in a blanket fortress right now? FOR SHAME.

...but I want to be in that tent with a bucket of turnips and a party hat, RIGHT NOW.

      ReplyDelete
    30. Hell yeah, chair and sheet forts!

    34. loving the nostalgia =]
but why do they keep releasing the outdate designed ponies?

      ReplyDelete
    35. I remember when I was younger, My sister had a play tent like the one up there that we would expand with boxes and blankets and slides into a huge castle. It was great fun until everything got destroyed in a sudden rainstorm.

      DAMN YOU RANDOM IRISH WEATHER

      ReplyDelete
    36. I bet somepony will buy the tent just to scan the super-high-res art on it.

Also, am I the only one who sees the resemblance between the tent and a hunk of meat on a bone?

      ReplyDelete
    37. I want that Twilight set. Also, a Shine Bright Fluttershy that's a Target exclusive has shown up on ponychan's /toy/ board.

      ReplyDelete
    38. Oh you silly adults and your chairforts.

While the tent is absolutely adorable the picture makes it more like a cat tent then a people tent, I don't think I can wiggle my way through those tunnels.

Now onto the playset: I am loving to see that Only at Target logo, all the other g4s were released in Wal-Mart and Toys R Us beforehand, so seeing that I go to Target most often for my ponies and this playset is good news for me. As for the ponies, a light-up Twilight that comes with a bonus pony is a good deal indeed. Now I need to find a box to put all those little accesories. Either way a cute playset and I'm awaiting for a castle~

Anyone else notice that there's a shine-bright Fluttershy on the arena?

    39. Such lazy kids these days. What we need is a MLP bed sheet so they can make MLP bed sheet tents. Now that would be awesome. The tent is still pretty neat.

I don't want to hate on these toys, but how does that look anything like Canterlot Castle? If they just said Pony accessory kit, I would not be as bothered.

I am still waiting and hoping for official releases of the ponies in their Gala dresses, or with their Element necklaces.

    40. Do not want the castle. It's so G3-ish. :(

      ReplyDelete
    41. I'm a straight male high schooler. WHY DO I WANT THIS SO MUCH!

SERIOUSLY, I WANT THAT FRICKING TENT. The playset, eh. Shiko put it perfectly, it completely goes against the whole point of G4. Now if they had a Rainbow Dash one with lights and sound effects and all sorts of Sonic Rainboom stuffs, I would buy that so fast. But this, no freaking way. AT LEAST ENCLOSE MINI SPIKE AND OWLOUICIOUS FIGURES!

    43. Lol @ all the comments.
      And I thought I was the only one who used to make weird forts out of chairs and blankets o;

      ReplyDelete
    44. Little girls would love to have a tent like that when they play outside. Playing with your friends with your favorite items would be so fun.

      ReplyDelete
    45. @Marcoooootje1

I used to make forts out of sheets, chairs and blankets too.
Sometimes they would take up the whole living room.....
