UNBOXING REVIEW: Mighty Jaxx My Little Pony Hidden Dissectibles

 

Hello everyone! It's been a little while since Equestria Daily has done one of these unboxing reviews.

Personally I blame the entirety of last year for slowing down on product releases/reviews, so it is to be expected.

But the good news is that they are back with avengeance!

So what is in this box that I am reviewing today?

Well it just so happens that Mighty Jaxx sent Equestria Daily a case of 12 My Little Pony Hidden Dissectibles to take a look at.

Please be advised this box was provided for free for review purposes.  As per Mighty Jaxx's webpage, we know that a case of 12 contains all 6 of the regular variants available and no guarantee of receiving a rare (Twilight and Fluttershy are a 1/24 chance, and Wonderbolts Rainbow Dash is a 1/48 chance).

So the possibility of me just getting the regular is high.

Hasbro Toy Fair 2020: My Little Pony Booth Tour - Pony Life, Equestria Girls Mini, Potions, and More!

New York Toy Fair 2020 is currently underway, and with that comes the My Little Pony display! The pony potion sets, pony life, and Equestria Girls Mini are Hasbro's main focus this year, and the booth is absolutely flooded with them. While Toy Fair doesn't always show off every piece of first-party merchandise they release in a year, it's usually a pretty good indication of the overall line.

Hasbro Livestream their New York Toy Fair Entertainment Brand Preview Event!

Hasbro will be live-streaming their Hasbro Pulse Entertainment Brand Preview Event today at 1:30 PM EST on their Hasbro Pulse Facebook Page.

The presentation, filled with announcements, will run for approximately one hour. After that it will be one on one time for fan media with emphasis on seeing all the new products.

This is not to be confused with the investor's meeting and slide shows which happened yesterday.

TOY REVIEW: MLP Potion Surprise Batch 1 Blind Bags

It's a new fiscal year and that means its time for new toys to hit the shelves!

Which means we have new MLP toys to take a look at! And in the case of this Equestria Daily staffer, to review!

So you can probably expect a couple of these to come out over the next few weeks.I have some fun stuff ordered on Amazon I cannot wait to break into once it arrives!

Speaking of fun, I got in 24 of the My Little Pony Potion Surprise Blind Bag toys today!

Which I bought with my own money for anyone wondering.

(Debunked) Possible 2020 G5 Movie Designs Revealed in New My Little Pony Toys?

Amazon Canada and UK have both listed up brand new toys that hint at a possible toyline reboot in 2020 that may be based off the G5 Movie designs. It's all speculation but these toy models are certainly interesting looking.

Unfortunately the boxes don't have any actual vector art like usual, only a potion bottle. The characters are less curvy with bigger heads and unshorn fetlocks down on the hooves. It would be surprising if they straight up went with the mane 6 again, especially since none of these three have changed much at all outside of overall design. 

What do you guys think?

Update: As someone did mention, the G5 transition movie was delayed till 2021, so these might just be toys to fill the gap that are still based on G4 but heavily stylized. 

Update 2: Our sources closely involved with this issue notified us they are indeed just a new toyline and appear to not have any relationship with G5. Still, they are pretty interesting looking for a new line of pony toys.

Hasbro's NYCC Transformers Press Event!

Surprise! Bet you weren't expecting to see Hasbro's Flagship toy property on Equestria Daily today!

Well to be frank, I wasn't expecting to receive an invite from Hasbro to come to this event. So when the invite came in, of course I said "YES!"

Anyways as part of Hasbro's NYCC plans, they held a special Press Event where they unveiled a number of new products coming out both later this year and in Q1 of 2020.

Like the above Cel-Shaded Optimus Prime and Megatron! Just look at those two. They look like they came straight out of the original cartoon! Which is appropriate since they were created to celebrate the franchise's 35th anniversary!

New Cutie Mark Crew Macaron Mystery Set Revealed

Officially dubbed the Suger Sweet Rainbow™ pack, this set features 12 Mystery Figures that can come in pony, seapony, or Equestria Girl form and also pair with a matching macaron shaped stand. Hasbro sent us a sample to review so expect that sweet thing to come later. See below for the unpacked ponies and the official release description!

New Fluttershy and Applejack Friendship is Magic Story Sets Appear!—Asia Region Exclusives

Hasbro's website was recently updated with some of the newest and latest toys for the My Little Pony toyline. Among them were two brand new story packs. One for Fluttershy and one for Applejack.

However when I tried to source these toys to let everyone know where you could purchase them, I ran into a stone wall. None of the partner retailers on Hasbro's US website carried it. So I reached out to our friends at Hasbro to see if they knew where it was being sold.

They got back to me with the answer that these toys, much like the last Equestra Girls Minis line (the one which featured the Humane 7 in their reboot outfits), was developed specifically for the Asian market.

This is unfortunate because that is a blindbag scaled Angel Bunny packaged with this Fluttershy. It is the only one which has been produced in this scale. And I, and probably many others, need it.

So if you happen to have a friend who lives in Asia, consider asking them to track it down for you. As for me, I need to do the same…

UNBOXING REVIEW: My Little Pony Oh My Giggles Pinkie Pie

Hasbro sent Equestria Daily a free new toy to review!

It was one of the more… okay. I'll be completely upfront. This one startled me three times in 10 minutes front of the MLP Marketing and Designs teams at Toy Fair.

We were all dying after the third time, and I'll sum up the review of the toy right now.

This toy is a lot of fun and perfect for My Little Pony fans of all ages.

But I am always thorough in my reviews. And you'll be able to find the full thing after the break!

New York Toy Fair 2019 My Little Pony Booth - Full Tour and Gallery

New York Toy Fair has begun, and with it comes our yearly coverage of Hasbro's My Little Pony booth. Thanks to our reporter on site The Illustrious Q we can share you a impression of this year's My Little Pony toys and merchandise being showcased at the fair.

There do not seem to be much new toys this year compared to previous years. Emphasis seems to be on the Cutie Mark Crew toyline.

Possible Cutie Mark Crew Chrysalis, Maud Pie, Spitfire, and Flurry Heart On the Way

 The first wave of the Cutie Mark Crew set has already started hitting store shelves, and it looks like Hasbro has some plans for the next wave. An app called Quidd apparently has renders up for Spitfire, Chrysalis, Maud Pie, and Flurry Heart right now. As for when they will be released, your guess is as good as mine! Hopefully soon.

Singing Rainbow Dash, School of Friendship Collection, and Fluttershy & Glimmer Set Appear at Walmart

A few Walmart Exclusives we announced a while back have started appearing at the actual stores if you wanted to pick them up. The Starlight and Fluttershy two pack, plus the big four pack with all the School of Friendship classes are now available.

And joining that is a singing Rainbow Dash, that apparently does songs from the movie if their commercial is any indication.

REVIEW: SDCC 2018 My Little Pony Established '83 Greatest Hits Set

Working my butt off this week to have time saved up to go on vacation next week to Europe for Galacon!

Yes it is going to be a ton of fun, however this week, SDCC is happening in the beautiful city of San Diego, California. As per usual with the convention, Hasbro has a ton of exclusives. Namely the MLP Established '83 Greatest Hits Set. Hasbro was kind enough to send one to EQD. And I have a couple of minutes before the work day really gets started, so let's go take a look!

UNBOXING REVIEW: Hasbro's Cutie Mark Crew!

Can't say that Hasbro doesn't follow Truth in Advertising laws. These things are way too cute.

Hello readers of Equestria Daily! The Illustrious Q here once again with a unboxing review for the new Cutie Mark Crew toyline from Hasbro! Hasbro was kind enough to send me the above box for review, so it only makes sense to take a look inside and risk having a heart attack caused by cuteness!

Though to be fair, I did survive seeing the Cutie Mark Crew cake at New York Toy Fair. And if I can survive that then this shouldn't be a problem.

With that said, let's go dive into the review and see what is in the box! Personally, I'm hoping for another box.

TOY REVIEW: Equestria Girls Mini Figurines

It's toy review time! While waiting for the new My Little Pony: Cutie Mark Crew Toyline to release--supposedly wave 1 will hit sometime this month--I'll be reviewing some of the other new MLP Toys that have come out in the last couple of months. Or have just hit US shores... like today's review items.

One of the more interesting, and obscure, new pieces of merchandise to come out for the Equestria Girls toy line--I'm talking ever and not just in the past few years--is the line of Equestria Girls Mini Figurines. These first appeared in an online shopping market in Thailand way back in January 2018, but since then we've gotten little or no information about them.

Until these popped up in Five Below Locations around the US last week. After the break, we'll take a close look at these Equestria Girls Mini Figurines!

Hasbro First Quarter Sales Drop 16% in Wake of Toys R Us Closure

And Toys R Us's bankruptcy drama continues. First quarter earning are out for Hasbro and Mattel and they are pretty much what everyone expected them to be after Toys R Us filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy (Liquidation).

US Toys R Us Liquidation has Officially Begun for Remaining Stores

Of course Toys R Us starts liquidation on a dreary overcast day…

There is literally no way I can possibly make this news happy. The final liquidation sale for the largest toy realtor officially began today.

The liquidation sales posters currently currently hanging up in Toys R Us toy stores state the entire store is up to 30% off. While that poster is true, and there is indeed inventory marked as 30% off, the up to part is the most important aspect of the sign.

After spending about 4 hours in three different Toys R Us stores, I took note of the trends in the sale prices. Which you will be able to find after the break.

Toys R Us New Round Up: Liquidation Sales to Start Tomorrow, Amazon Eyeing TRU Locations, and… KB Toys Returns?!

It's been a very busy few days since Toys R Us announced they were liquidating last week. For one thing, the liquidation sales start tomorrow. For another, Amazon has apparently started looking at acquiring some of the son-to-be vacant Toys R Us locations.

And finally, KB Toys, the name of a Toy Store I never thought I was going to hear again (let alone type on this blog), is apparently being resurrected from the retailer grave after 9 years to save the toy industry!

Fine, some background information. Unlike the last Unboxing Review that I did—which came straight from Hasbro—this one contains the Spring My Little Pony Releases from Basic Fun! Which means you'll be able to get a closer look at some of the toys Basic Fun showed off at New York Toy Fair earlier this year!

Also, this box is bigger than the one from Hasbro. So it is time to find out what secrets it contains!
