• (Kind of Rumor) McDonalds Pony Toys Showing Up Early

We have received numerous reports from McDonalds lovers everywhere that the pony toys are actually showing up early; though a good majority of them are from the last year's selection.  It sounds like they may be selling off a bit of the old stock to make room for the new one's official release on the 9th.  This is obviously pretty isolated, so I'd call before rushing over to your nearby restaurant and demanding ponies.

Considering these have been shipped and sitting in back rooms for a good week or two now, it wouldn't be too surprising to see some busting them out instead of ordering more of the current line of toys.  Again though, my nearby McDonalds is a good example of a place that still hasn't released them, so make sure you check before you start hunting!

    4. Damnit! Seeing a post about McDonalds while doing a diet is not a good idea XD It makes me want to go to my nearest McDonalds AND...Get a salad >_> I always get a salad with vinegar and olive oil (we have those in Spain), took me a lot of effort to ask for chicken nuggets when getting the first batch of toys ^_^;

    5. That's my Fluttershy right there! I knew the McDonald's around here always releases new toys on Monday, so i just went and bough it. I don't know about other stores though.

    6. I went to my McDonald's today and they told me it won't start until Friday. At least there.

The good news for me, though, is that they didn't look at me funny when I asked about it!

      The bad news... now I won't have any funny stories about it. ^^;

    7. I went to a Canadian McDonalds this morning, and they said they'd have them tomorrow.

    10. California bronies, I checked a local MC'd in the Bay Area, and they said they will get the new toys by tomorrow, March 6th.

      Go check your local MC'ds!

    11. I'm fifteen, and my parents still have to chaperone me everywhere, how do I get these?

      ReplyDelete
    12. @jspang
Um, ask your parents to take you to McDonald's?

      ReplyDelete
    13. @jspang
I'd suggest telling them that you're a Brony, then asking for a Happy Meal.

      ReplyDelete
    14. So how do I get one of these... I mean, it's not awkward being a brony, but it would be awkward to go to McDonald's an order a happy meal, specifically requesting pony...

      ReplyDelete
    15. @jspang is there one in walking distance or near a friends house? if their is go to that friends house and walk over and pick one up

      ReplyDelete
    16. Just walk in and order one, that's it.

Eh, you just have to realize no one working there really cares. Most will just assume its for a lil sister or a daughter and not think anything of it. If someone does ask, just own it like a boss.

    18. Hmmmmm, intriguing. I'll have to show up to work on Wednesday an extra 5 minutes sooner to check the basement.

      ReplyDelete
    19. @smokeydops2Just ask them what their Happy Meal toys are. They'll probably grab a few and show you. If it's slow they may show you the whole bin.

Lots of fanbases collect stuff like this. This is absolutely NOTHING compared to the Beanie Baby craze in the 1990s, when senior citizen women were driving hundreds of miles to complete their sets.

Been in three McD's since yesterday and no pony yet. I've always told them something like, "No thanks, I've heard you're getting My Little Pony later this week, so I'll come back in a few days."

What domon7411 said. We just assume everyone who orders a girl's happy meal is ordering it for a girl. However, if you order a girl's happy meal (and you're by yourself) and wearing a pony t-shirt, I will give you a brohoof.

    21. I found several McDonald ponies from last year at my local flea market. As well as several other kinds, but that's beside the point.
Plus, they seem to be on amazon too. Saw a few listings last night.

    23. Also... McD's counter people should be trained in providing some modicum of customer service. That is, give the customer what he/she asks for, make him comfortable to be there and want to come back. They don't make fun of the 300-pound guy who orders three Big Macs and two large fries and is obviously ordering only for himself, and they had better not make fun of me when I ask for constitutionally-guaranteed pony, either.

    24. I want to McDonalds today and there nothing.

      ReplyDelete
    25. My McDonalds also said Friday. I keep periodically checking, using Shamrock Shakes as an excuse when I come home ponyless.

      ReplyDelete
    26. I didn't ask first and ended up getting a bear. :(

    27. @brony4444

That would be great! Sadly, the training would likely be for naught, as most McDonalds employees are either teenagers or young adults strongly affected by peer pressure and black and white thinking.

That's just the way it works, McDonalds makes for a great resume later on as it teaches teamwork really well, but that's it. The values related to understanding and respect towards other people comes with maturity, which comes with age.

Besides, if McDonalds only hired a highly trained and polite staff, they might have to pay them above-minimum wage, perish the thought!

    28. To all people who responded, thanks, but I meant that my parents already know and think I'm insane for liking it, I meant how do I get them w/o my parents spazzing. Probably should have elaborated more

    29. My sister better be hungry tomorrow because it's pony time!!!

    31. I'll just keep checking around here often until Friday. Personally, I have no problem buying the toys, I want the whole world to know that I am a brony and it brings me joy.

      ReplyDelete
    32. Where I live (Florida), they're arrive Wednsday night and are on sale Thrusday morning. I found this out as I entered today with excitement and left with saddness. Till Thursday!

      ReplyDelete
    33. I know that the one here has them on the back shelves. If you want em, just ask.

      ReplyDelete
    34. Here in the Netherlands we have Pony happy meals for a few weeks now :) I got a nice Fluttershy toy out of it.

      ReplyDelete
    35. I already have a Rainbow Dash toy, but that's great news for those who are still looking for them.

      ReplyDelete
    36. Really? I've seen on multiple sites that they're supposed to have the first shipment in March 5. That was yesterday. >.> I'm going today to check

      ReplyDelete
    37. As an older brony, I use the whole "fake daughter" routine, just hold your phone up as you order and pretend to have a conversation while ordering. Unless your a regular, that should throw off suspicions.

      I'm not crazy right?

      ReplyDelete
    38. It's official, Pittsburgh does not have ponies yet, just swung by to check, got a shamrock shake out of it. Yum minty

      ReplyDelete
    39. Tampa area McDonald's don't start til Friday, of that helps anyone.

    40. I just walked to two different McDonalds, a Walmart, and a Toys R Us (All in the Los Angeles area) and Walmart had a Rainbow Dash, but no blindbags, and both mickey d's had no ponies, I'll wait until they're officially out

    42. i had official news from mcdonalds that they were to be released on the 8th (i went in and asked. you know you can do that, right.)

      ReplyDelete
    43. I can confirm that they came out early in my area!

      ReplyDelete
    44. I just went to my local Mcdonald's today, and they told me they wouldn't be coming out until tomorrow (based on previous comments, this seems to be status quo for all of Florida). Well, at least I have confirmation now.
