And that's why Catholics and Lutherans shouldn't be on tv.

Ultra-Conservative Christianity tends to suck like that.

My boyfriend and I are decidedly Christian in every way we can be, but we're not ultra-conservative. Ponies are fine. There's a line between fiction and reality, and ponies (sadly) are definitely on the fiction side of that line in reality. As long as we remember that, there's no problem. -sigh-

I have been a victim of ultra-conservative Christianity for far too long. My boyfriend and I can't even play Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: the Gathering at his house because his parents are ultra-conservative. I'm hoping they don't watch Christian TV, because then we'll lose our ponies, too.

They can't take away our ponies. That's just not right.

but seriously, some christians give the rest of us a bad name when they say things like that.MLP evil? I agree with many of you, it's probably a gift from god to make our lifes happy :D oh and the smurfs possess kids?? WTF??

As another Christian brony, I must absolutely agree with you.

On that note, did anyone else notice that the woman at 0:19 actually was smarter than the host? She rightly pointed out that anything can be "satanic" if you have the right perspective. The Bible must be the yardstick of such things, not personal perspective. Otherwise, you end up essentially going on a witchhunt against basically everything.

A final note to Christians and even atheists: Never trust televangelits or megachurch pastors in general. I'd be willing to say most of them are false prophets. The audiences they attract will eventually get to their heads. Not to mention that most of them that I've seen feel more like rock concerts than an actual serious attempt to connect to God and teach others about the Bible.

I just read your long comment about Christianity, and I have to say, as a Christian, I enjoyed it immensely. I could not agree more about the lack of real love in the "Christian" community today, and I likewise see bronydom as exemplary of the kind of mindset we were supposed to have.

      Stay awesome!

    15. Finally I see more Christian bronies! Oh and just because one calls themselves Christian doesn't make them one ya know. It's not just saying that, it's in your beliefs, actions, and heart. People like Harold Camping, WBC, and that are the crazy Christians. Believe it or not but I go to church and a Christian school and there's no one like that (aside from the rock music doesn't worship God bullcrap).

I haven't read the comments but I really hope there was no Christian insulting. Love and tolerance applies to everyone. Muslims, Jews, Atheists, Christians, Hindus, etc. We should all treat each other with love and respect.

Yes, it is interesting how many of us there are, and I love it. Most of the bronies I know IRL are also Christians, and we all agree that the show is more than compatible with Jesus's teachings and the Christian worldview. And I only wish more Christians would take the message of love to heart.

I was scrolling down, getting ready to write out a long post, but you said it all so well. All I see in that video is people with serious emotional and psychological issues they should get help for instead displacing them through radical, rabid over-adherence to a local dominant cultural paradigm. It's a story as old as humanity, unfortunately. I didn't bother finishing the video, where I once might have reveled in mocking it during the days where I was doing a similar kind of projection but with atheism.

I'm pretty blown away by the fact that there are 200+ comments and there's no religious flamewar, in fact nobody saying anything unkind about Christians, atheists, or anybody else. Even towards the fundies in the video, it's just pity. Love the community this show has attracted.

    21. You know as a Christian it really makes me sad to see vids like that one. I know there are a lot of different Christian view points on matters like pokemon or smurfs, and many of those points get very negative responses (being called insane is an example). I just pray that those who see videos like this one don't gain a negative viewpoint on Christianity as a whole because of a small groups of individuals viewpoints. God bless

Also please not that I have never posted here on this website before...and that I have tried posting this two other times before this one (I'm really bad at posting junk). So if you see this post two other times I am really sorry.

    22. My reaction to some of those japanese reactions:

"That blue gal is cute" - I think you mean 'butter yellow' and 'with the pink mane'. though "cute" could be said for most of the Mane 6

      "Spyro" - Makes sense

"Happy Tree Friends" - If I could, I would nuke all the stuff that ties both together to form the similarities then make glass out of the residue and then nuke it again then send the remaining residue to a super-massive black hole.

"I thought it was he" - Clearly too much cross-dressing anime and manga

"Panty and Stocking" - Waaaaaaaaaaaaat. I don't even...

"Loli-trio" - I understand your logic, and I politely ask you to dispose of such an idea

Before I summaries my overall reaction to some of these reactions I would like to say that I have an Otaku sister who I hold very dear to me and that Japan is the whole reason I got into Engineering, Science and Technology, and that what i'm going to say is merely a friendly kind of offense, the kind of offense you get between 2 guys talking to each other. Now i'm going to say my overall reaction:

Bloody japs, imma love and tolerate the living stuff outta u. And give you big, fat, epic, Pinkie Pie Styled hugs if I have to.

I've never stopped being a Catholic, although being in the military has made it harder to attend service, I stay firm in my beliefs, because my family is doing great, and I've had some pretty interesting close calls with death already (skydiving mishap in 08 and helicopter mishap earlier this year).

Regardless of my beliefs though, I don't feel anybody has the right to shove their beliefs down somebody else's throat, and that includes Atheists that try and shove their beliefs down my throat.

I am particularly fascinated with this topic, because regardless of the vast differences in beliefs among the people commenting, it's been completely civil, which goes against pretty much every single experiencing on the internet I've ever had. You say the word god in any forum, and you usually get 30 pages of replies and very heated debates, often with users being banned and the thread getting locked.

Thank you brony community for once again proving how amazing you are!

What's this? Something new and different is popular? IT MUST BE SATAN.

      ReplyDelete
    40. Don't worry Christian bronies, I love and tolerate you! I do think that religion is mostly a screen that people project upon whatever is inside them. How you interpret your religion says much more about you than God.

On another topic, after consuming Japanese cultural exports for years it is interesting what they think about ours. Apparently being a "pushie girl" is a sign of Americanness?

      ReplyDelete
    41. As a Christian brony, I fail to see ANYTHING satanic about MLP: FiM! These people are modern day puritans, on a cartoon witch hunt! And yes, Twilight, among other unicorns, CAN perform magic, but the only "real" magic I've seen is like: butterfly wings, walking on clouds and Spike's facial hair... OMG SO EVIILL!
It's disturbing that the word "Christian" is becoming synonymous with "whoever the hell those people are PRETENDING to be". The way MLP:FiM brings people (bronies) together CANNOT be evil.

Long story short: They are doin' it wrong.

It's less the show and more what people make of it. Popular catchphrases are often out of context and misconstrued. Especially when it can be taken as "don't you tell me what to do".

Also, at DBJ123: This what we churchgoers call "fellowship", haha.
More than anything, it's just that it's the interwebs. You don't often find Christian-friendly users/behavior/content in the meme-producing corners of the internet, and when it happens squee occurs. I've had a weird obsession with internet subculture for a long time, so I'm aware of the abrasive and unGodly thoughts people put out there. Bronyism is the closest thing I've found to a friendly, courteous, not-unavoidably-distasteful fandom community in all my years of clearing the web browser. And it's a nice change.

Repair service is next to impossible to come by. A few people have the skills for it, but it's hard to find ones willing to work outside of their own collections. I myself have several that i want to repair, but have not found the time for. My favorite one, a SCM (Smith Corona Marchant) Cogito 240SR just got a nasty little fault where you can enter a number, but when you press and operator key, it only transfer the decimal position to the next stack, and not the actual number's content. I suspect a single part or a single wire is the fault. It uses "bit-serial" architecture. It means that the signal is failing to pass one single point, and after that point, it reads all 0s. That hardest part to repairing a machine like that is the fact that schematics are SO hard to find.

I'm hoping it's only an oxidized wire contact point. That's easy enough to fix. The 240SR has no chips, it has I think 5 circuit boards stacked in layers, with grids of resistors and diodes to form logic. A few transistors are used as well. It draws vectors the numbers being rendered on a CRT, and uses a vibrating nickel steel wire to store a measly 480 bits of data as a recycled sound wave being amplified and looped back down the length of the wire by magnetic transducers (like speakers and microphones). It's so slow, that a solenoid LOCKS the keys so you can't interrupt it while it processes the results. Oddly enough, it has a far greater numeric range than most modern scientific calculators, assuming you keep track of the patterns that loop on the display with every roll over all 0s. Shockingly primitive, but an amazing feat of engineering, for a time when so little was available to engineers.

There was CLEARLY science to be done back then, and nothing was gonna stop them!

      ReplyDelete
    47. @DJB123, You are aware that only about 33% of the world identifies as Christian, right? While it may be fairly common for an American Christian to bump into a fellow Christian on the street, in the wider world it's far less common.

And on the internet, it seems that Christians are rarer (or are not willing to be open about it for fear of ridicule).

But like others have said, it's just like finding other things in common.

      ReplyDelete
    48. @DJB123

I know others have explained already, but I want to throw in my 2 bits on why Christian bronies are so overjoyed to find others.

For one thing, finding a professing Christian is getting far less common. It's not "cool" to be religious anymore, and many people would be reluctant to talk about it.

Additionally, this is a fandom that's united over a cartoon that became popular via the internet. Specifically 4chan. And even though we've moved away from that, it's still true that most of us are "internet geeks" to some degree. One would expect, given the stereotypical internet user's beliefs, that bronies are mostly atheists. So to find people who say "I'm a Christian too", and to read their comments about how the people in the clip are doing it wrong based on Christianity, is an amazing feeling.

tl;dr - Christian bronies in here are happy to find that we're not alone in a place where we probably assumed we were the minority.

      ReplyDelete
    49. General message to all the bronies who spoke up and said "I'm a Christian, and those radicals are doing it wrong": Thank you for making me happy, restoring my faith in spontaneous fellowship, and showing me that no place is off limits.

I have repaired some 1970's calculators, mostly TI and Commodore, plus an HP.

Most 1970's models are damaged by battery corrosion. If they have rechargeable packs (which was VERY common), it can be especially bad, since the pack was usually right up against the circuit board. I have repaired a pair of Commodore N60s and an S61 that had corrosion issues. It's mostly an issue of very positively grounding yourself and your workbench (these old electronics are horrifically sensitive to static electricity), cleaning with powerful cleaners (I've used everything from high purity alcohol to industrial oxide cleansers), and then soldering new wires to jumper over any circuit board wire traces that have been corroded away. The battery packs you buy for cordless phones at places like Radio Shack are more or less drop in replacements for the rechargeable battery packs from these old calculators. I like to solder a small plug to the circuit board to allow easy removal and replacement of the battery pack. Never leave a pack in a calculator for more than 2-4 years. It might even last longer... but why risk your hard work just to save a few bucks. At the very least, check it yearly. Most collectors choose to NOT install a battery pack unless they actively use the vintage calculator. Some models have removable battery backs that let you use standard AA, AAA, or 9v style batteries. I prefer these. They are easy to maintain, as you don't have to take the calc apart to replace batteries.

I an also bead together a mean abacus!

      ReplyDelete
    52. @jodyjm13

Also... Look up the calculator's brand and model online. Google is your friend. There are a few good resources for information. Also be aware that SOME calculator models REQUIRE a battery to be installed to prevent the charging circuit from overloading the calculator. A recharging battery draws down the current in the circuit by placing a resistance (the resistance of the battery) to shunt some of the power to. Without that shunt (the battery), the power has to go elsewhere (aka, your precious little vintage device). To solve this, one can often substitute a small resistor in place of the battery. Online research can help in determining when and if this is necessary, and what values to use.

I've got my collection up to over 100 models, and that count was last year. Maybe someday I'll have the time to organize and share the collection on the web!

      @DJB123

As for the subject of why Christians seem to be overjoyed when they find each other online... All that needs to be said, has been said.

Like any individual in a sea of faces, we seek the companionship and friendship of those who we feel we can associate with. When you feel afraid to speak out about who you are, because some people make foals of themselves, giving you a bad name... It can be hard. When people unite together in a common interest, belief, feeling, or anything really, it provides a shoulder to lean on.

It can be a well oiled precision killing team in Call of Duty, or a nerdy bunch who gather for DnD on Friday nights. It could be a group of pals who dig some Rock Band at their bud's house, or gathering of bored wives for their monthly night on the town. It can be the oddball fan of a little girls cartoon about magic ponies collaborating to create one of the fastest growing internet communities of all time, or it could be some poor dejected Christians who is embarrassed by the public stereotype cast on them, learning there are people who feel the same way, and want to join to untarnish their image.

We want contact with those who care about what we care about...

Isn't that part of the magic of friendship?

      ReplyDelete
    53. Oh come off it, you guys, not all Christians, (and Texans for that matter) are like that. As somebody in the comments said earlier generalizing all Christians that way makes you no different then people who generalize "bronies" as weirdoes who are sexually-attracted to ponies. (Or like that "Ghost" guy who says all Bronies are "sick pedos")

That aside, admittedly I think this lady is a li'l odd, and doesn't know what she's talking about. She's obviously never seen the show for herself, so she can't really judge if it's "Satanic," or what-not. (And for that Matter, I don't think Harry Potter's "Satanic" either.) So yeah, I admit some can be exteme, or make odd acusations.

Also, some Athiests can be exteme in their beliefs to. Remember when a ton of Athiest bronies used to always whine & complain about the "moral" in the episode "Feeling Pinkie-Keen," because they misinterpritated it as promoting religiosity? To me that wasn't any less annoying then what this lady says.

Thanks mightily for the advice! And maybe we need to show Luna our abacuses (abaci?) sometime. ;)

So, does this hold the record as the most off-topic digression on EqD?

      ReplyDelete
    55. @jodyjm13
It very well could be the most off topic drift ever... but that's OK. It's all in the name of being friendly and helping out a fellow brony! LOL!!!

I've been seriously contemplating making a Luna themed abacus myself. It'd obviously have to carry her three primary colors (mane, coat, cutiemark). I'd very much like to find wires that can be colored like the mane. I'm fairly certain that silvery blue can be achieved on certain metals with some sort of surface process. I think it's a common color on gun metal. I'll have to look into that. I'd like it to NOT be paint, as paint would never last on a surface that would take repetitive friction. Something like a heat or electroplating treatment, I suppose. I guess that simply means that there is research to be done! I'll go with beads the color of the dark part of her cutie mark, probably... though I might place white ones in a crescent moon pattern in them, so when zeroed, it'll show the actual cutiemark... Frame would be coat color. I'd like to make it subtly ornate, if possible. I could possibly use the same metal surface treatment on corner brackets shaped to imitate Luna's horseshoes or crown if possible. No friction there, so paint could work as well.

I so want to make this!

    77. On a semi-related note, I watched the livestream celebrating the end of the Kickstarter for Double Fine Adventure earlier.

If you don't know, Double Fine made a lot of great games like Psychonauts, Brutal Legend, Stacking, Costume Quest, and quite a few others. They're a game developer that isn't afraid to try new things and their games are always unique.

Employees at the company were answering questions from the chat and someone asked if they watched My Little Pony. Tim Schafer, the big boss, said "Yep, I'm a Brony." I have no idea if he was serious or not. He also posed the question to a woman who worked at Kickstarter and she said they were cute and make her feel warm inside, but didn't say if she liked the show.

Then the chat blew up with people saying "brohoof", "Tim's a Brony!", etc. There were also several people who criticized the show and it's fans, in particular, one person who said "fun fact: you must be mentally handicapped to like ponies".

Oddly, when I read that, the first thing that came to mind was a line from that "I'm the Juggernaut, Bitch" video.

"Silly bitch, your weapons cannot harm me."

      ReplyDelete
    78. @MyBoyJScore one lol!

It's pretty easy for me to demonstrate to most sane people how normal bronies typically are. I was practically dragged into this fandom kicking and screaming, ultimately realizing that there was a ton of fun I was missing out on because I let my initial bias get in the way. Ever notice how many people start out as haters, gradually become indifferent, and then just outright embrace the ponies? Heck, even moot.

I tell people about that so they understand I was once like them. It's not weird, but it sure is funny.

      ReplyDelete
    79. I didn't pay attention in math today (we were reviewing stuff I already know). I drew pinkie (twice) instead. Also, drawing from an angle, like my lazy posture, results in stuff looking correct from that angle, but stretched from a head on view. Pinkie's head was elliptical and she was too long before I realized the mistake I made.

I did send them my voice demo and a humorous email asking for a job. I didn't get a response from them, but then again, they haven't even started work on the game yet.

Another question that popped up a few times in the chat on the livestream was "can people with no formal voice actor training audition to be in the game?"

They never answered that question, probably because the chat was moving too fast and they didn't see it.

    91. @DerpGarde

That's exactly it. I have no inspiration to this fic right now. Nothing is working right, and it's driving me nuts.

I know where i want this story to go, I just can't get it there. At least not well. I'm falling back onto my crutch of self-criticism where everythign I write is crap to me so I delete it and start over, only to spiral downwards and loose all focus...

I'm think of just putting this story down and walking away from it for a bit. Maybe if I take some time off it I'll calm down and find something that'll fit. In the meantime I have another idea I wanna try, so maybe it'll help move things along.

I remember seeing that video about My Little Pony being satanic when this was first posted.

Sensationalist types aren't good for anyone. We know that pretty well, as bronies. A few folks who loudly make a big deal over nothing always get a lot of attention and make everyone look bad in the end. It would be nice if stuff like that was never posted, I think, because it just causes a lot of negativity all around.

      ReplyDelete
    101. Quote of the Roundup: BY FIRE BE PURGED!

A few other quotations from that video are "Smurfs do satanic pentagrams" (which doesn't even mean anything), "don't get caught up in pain", and "there have been more kids drawn into witchcraft since Harry Potter."

Sensationalist bull*buy some apples* like that just breeds more hatred.

If they actually took the time to do even the most basic research about My Little Pony before saying it "may be satanic" and promising to ask a former witch about it, I would say they thought it was evil because the show itself was breaking down female gender stereotypes and the fanbase was breaking down male gender stereotypes.

After all, the church tends to resist change whenever possible.

No offense intended to anyone who may be part of the nebulous "church" I mentioned.

In the comments (which I only briefly scanned), I noticed some people saying things like this almost made them ashamed to call themselves Christian. I'm not. I'm just sad such ignorance gets any airtime.

It's a lot like the way some people spammed Yamino and suddenly people were saying "OMG bronies suck." Too general. I appreciate those who understand that sane people don't make the news nearly as much as the wacky ones.

I would certainly mention the adage of "Love and Tolerate" when differences of opinion arise. Bronies are a very diverse group, and we have remained united because the show teaches kindness towards everyone and acceptance of those who are different from yourself.

I would also mention that the show is technically superb, in terms of writing, animation, voice acting, music, etc. Also, it is extremely positive and just generally encourages good moods.

      ReplyDelete
    110. @Dom W

One of the above videos in the Roundup is a Christian televangelist show that says My Little Pony "may be satanic".

It's just sensationalist garbage of course. A prime example of fundamentalists making ridiculous claims in order to get more attention.

They also say that the Smurfs and Harry Potter are satanic.

      ReplyDelete
    111. @MyBoyJ
I agree completely! That's why I said the person in the video was speaking with complete ignorance. Which is exactly why it bugged me that the video above served as a launching point for dissension and mocking Christianity and such. I don't know, I just think that's a pity, it makes me feel bad. Not to sound emo or anything.

Both the show and my beliefs teach loving one's neighbor, which is why I don't mean to personally attack anyone else for their beliefs either. That's all.

    117. Genius!

Hey, you guys, let me know what you think of my idea for another fanfic for me to work on.

I got the inspiration for this from a novel i read called Mogworld. It's a book based of World of Warcraft where game designers create a WoW-like game called Mogworld, and the story follows the characters in the game, but they live as though they are living out their lives in the fantasy world, unaware they are nothing more than game creations. The story continues on until the main character discovers the secret of their lives and tries to deal with the situation.

My idea of a fanfic is along those lines. The Mane 6, living out their lives, unaware of their existence as a T.V show, until they notice strange occurances around that tip them off to the idea that there's something wrong their their world. The way they discover about our world and the creators of the show is...well Im workign out that device. Im think dream sequences, but that seems corny. Give me your thoughts, does this sound like a good idea?

      ReplyDelete
    118. @ZeroHero

First off, Benjamin "Yahtzee" Croshaw is fantastic. I can't tell you how much I love Zero Punctuation.

Second that sounds interesting. Something like a giant fourth wall breaking extravaganza. I recall an earlier episode of South Park doing something like that, where the entire Earth was an Alien reality show, and they found out it was going to be cancelled and the Earth destroyed to make room for something else.

Also kind of like the Truman Show. Raven, are you still working on that crossover?

It certainly has potential, but it needs to be fleshed out a bit more.

      ReplyDelete
    119. @ZeroHero
I wrote something similar. Based off of the truman show. Never finished it.

It could work. But remember, HiE is generally frowned upon. Although if you can pull it off...

I'm working on a project that I'll abandon soon (Only have a first chapter in my head atm, so I'll write it up then trash it unto Fimfic.)

      Hmm, sorry no real ideas.

Tommorrow when I won't be as busy I might re-start that multi person fic thing!

    135. You know how people say that they have a song stuck in their head? Well, this song has been not only stuck in my head, but also playing on continuous loop ever since I first heard it.

It's awesome, but now I know what it truly means to have a song stuck in my head. I used to think that I knew what it meant, but oh, how wrong I was......

It is playing even as I type this comment, even as I listen to other songs. I like it, but it will. not. go. away.

Wow, that pretty much never happens to me with instrumental music. At least it's good though.

oh whoops! I got Fluttershy (YAY) Applejack, Twilight, and "Lily Blossom". and because I don't think there is a luna one, I got my favorite (fluttershy) YYYYEEEEESSSSSSS

    138. @Bombedrumbum

      I remember having
this song stuck in my head for about two years during the 90s.

Just thought I should mention it. Now, I'm actually going to bed.

      Goodnight.

    139. @Ben Gibson
I iz jealous of Fluttershy. <_<

I shall now retire myself, provided I can overcome this fact. Until next time everypony.

      Here's a better quality version.

I also don;t know what happened with the formatting of the first sentence.

    141. And this time, I'm really going to sleep.

Also, stupid fingers in my last comment.

My ring finger seems to have a mind of its own that loves the semicolon key and hates the apostrophe key.

I love the smell of skillet fried potato monkeys in the morning.

    143. Okay, how am I supposed to use the new comment system when it doesn't recognize Google accounts?

      ReplyDelete
    144. @Trotsky
That's odd. My google account actually has been working lately. So much tweaking going on with the system these days...

      ReplyDelete
    145. @Trotsky

I had to make an IntenseDebate account in order to use it.

It's pretty annoying, I have to use IntenseDebate to comment on new posts, but I still have to log into Google to post here.

      Double your comment systems...

    146. The Big Book of Brony... We all know how that went. Dude got a fucking mob bash him in the skull.

Here, you can have it. Just don`t forget to give credit to me and SALT if you use it :)

    148. Whew. What a day. More job hunting, grocery shopping, I even went and grabbed another McDonalds pony while I was at it. I got Rarity cause that's all they had, so I thought why not? :)

      I'm one tired brony. Haha

And thanks Raven, I'll see what we can make of this idea. And of course I was going to give credits. ;)

    149. @DeRockProject
Wait, are you serious, or are you speaking metaphorically?

      ReplyDelete
    150. Ever have one of those moments of realization that you were on a totally different page from someone to whom you were speaking, well after the conversation was over? I think I do that way too much.

Anyway, I had a question. We have a lot of fantastic writers around here, and as I was thinking to myself that I had some time for reading today. That got me wondering; when you guys are working on a fic, where is the first place you upload it? DA? FIMFic? FanFiction.net? Do you prefer to keep it in google docs until you can get a little proof-reading and editing? Please share!

      ReplyDelete
    151. @DerpGarde

I put my first one up on DA and my second one up of FimFiction because it was entered in a contest there.

In the future, I'll probably put them up on FimFiction, because it's more centered on the pony culture.

      ReplyDelete
    152. @DerpGarde

I don't have a fic finished yet, but when it is, Im uploading a link to the google doc on SALT for everyone to read. Then once it's polished up and ready to go, I was probably going ot upload it to FimFic and EqD at the same time.

I like getting it proof-read before throwing out into the world for a large group to see. I'd feel far more secure knowing I had a small group of close friends point out the flaws rather than a few dozen all yelling at me that my writing sucks. :P

      ReplyDelete
    153. @MyBoyJ

*on FimFiction, not of FimFiction, stupid fingers.

Although, in the future I'll probably put it on Google Docs so you guys can have a look at it first and do some critique.

When it's ready for public consumption, it'll go up on FimFiction.

      ReplyDelete
    154. @MyBoyJ
Okay, right on. I left a new comment on your DA upload, by the way. Y'all oughta go read it!

      @ZeroHero
Oh, realy? Hm, okay. I thought you had at least a little bit uploaded somewhere. Obviously I was once again confused. Well, I'm looking forward to it when it does arrive!

      ReplyDelete
    155. @DerpGarde
From experiance, don't upload it anywhere until it is at least pre-read and proofread. If you upload something with full of mistakes you'll get shot down super fast.

On the other hoof even a horrible story with decent spelling and sentence structure will stand a chance!

      ReplyDelete
    156. @Pinkie Pie

      Okay...

What's going on? Building a new computer?

      ReplyDelete
    157. @DerpGarde
The story that is, for anyone who hasn't.

      @RavensDagger
Yeah, that makes sense. Some people kind of whine about that fact sometimes, but grammar and punctuation isn't terribly hard to fix. But, it does slow down the flow when you're reading if those parts aren't in place.

      Thanks guys!

      ReplyDelete
    158. @DerpGarde
Speaking of grammar problems, my last comment is a total mess.

    159. Brb, Chapter seven is being a b-Buy some melons-ch.

      ReplyDelete
    160. @RavensDagger

Chapter seven? which fic is this then? Steam Gears? How far are you in that?

      ReplyDelete
    161. @ZeroHero

Also, am I asking too many questions? :P

      ReplyDelete
    162. @ZeroHero

You're not asking too many questions.

I am at chapter seven atm. or at least the first half of chapter seven.

The action in this one is really tough to handle. The character Sees the action but isn't part of it. Actually sorta awkward. But, my fnas demand huge airship battles and that is what they will get.

Chapter seven part two will all be politics. Also I'll introduce Applejack for the first time. Might be fun to write (I like AJ, her accent is fun to toy around with)...

      ReplyDelete
    163. @RavensDagger

Wow. Seriously, mate. You are tearing through that story. :D

Im amazed on your speed and quality. I don't know how you do it.

      ReplyDelete
    164. @ZeroHero

      LOL Speed, quality...

You've never seen one of my rough drafts...

Honestly I suck, I just have damded good editors.

      ReplyDelete
    165. @RavensDagger

Haha. Still, you've got something going on there.

I'm the one who can't get things together. :P

All you need is to not have a life and practise like crazy.

I am sure you can manage.

Have you read the guide yet? We did fill it with quite a bit of knowlage!

I try too hard to have a life, that's probably part of my problem. :P

But I have seen our guide, and I'm getting some good pointers from what you and Chrome put down there. Getting lots of ideas for the Truman show fic. :D I'm not sure if Im going in the same direction you took, but Ill still credit you for the idea.

      ReplyDelete
    169. @ZeroHero
Unless you take actual parts there is no need to give me credit (but SALT doesn't mind getting some...)

Do you need help with it? I am always up for co-authoring (I only need to do a bit of work and I get my name on the front page...)

      ReplyDelete
    170. while I am talking of fics... AMD, I need an image for both chapters 2 and 3 of my fic... only if you want of course. But it could get your images on EqD (well, sorta) and your name will circulate a bit more...

Anywho~ please give me a yes/no. I'll have to shop around if it is the latter.

      ReplyDelete
    171. @RavensDagger

I do have some ideas I wanna bounce off ya, see what you think. :)

I always planned on plugging SALT in the credits, btw.

I am working on chapter 4 of the star writer thing. You can go there now if you want to chat.

      ReplyDelete
    173. Ah, writing. If only I had the skill (not to mention time and willpower) to do it well

      ReplyDelete
    174. After I finish editing Twilight vs. The Brushies! (which I'm about halfway done with), I'm going to post the new version here so it can be torn apart again. If it seems okay, I'm going to submit it to EqD.

AMD, I'm going to need a piece of cover art for it.

If you're not too busy, that is.

Then I'm going to go back to my Psychonauts crossover and edit that. Then the cycle will repeat itself.

      ReplyDelete
    175. @MyBoyJ

Sure, send it over! I'll gladly tear it a new one!

    176. "Now if you will excuse my laze, I think I'll sleep for a few days."

      Good night then!

      @Dom W

      (Still wants to try it.)

      ReplyDelete
    179. @RavensDagger

I have returned for a short time, to input my fifth of a dime.

Maybe we could do it like the Twilight Zone, where we have several short stories connected by some kind of unifying thread, like a mystical object they all have in common.

      ReplyDelete
    180. @ravens
Well it never actually took off...

Okay, who wants to do a twi and become organiser? I would like to, however i have no previous fic writing experiance and i would probably fail.
Who wants to ? Cmon put a hoof up?

      ReplyDelete
    181. @Dom W.

Ah, what the hay, i'll do it.

      .......how do I begin?

      ReplyDelete
    182. @Dom W
No writing skill required to plan it...

Also I have the plot syn we sorta came up with last time...

      ReplyDelete
    183. Oh and i also have an idea of how to write it

      ReplyDelete
    184. @Bombedrumbum

      Brilliant!

Now pick a plot that everypony can work on (either a mutli POV at the same time, or a Twilight-zone-esq thing...)

      Then build characters

      Then the setting.

Then make sure everypony writes a coherant plot.
