(/msg nickserv REGISTER password email) to register the name you are currently using. It will send you a confirmation email and a code to type.

This is a lot more open than the old chat, and allows you guys to use seperate IRC clients.

/join #EquestriaAfterDark (Adult Chat - no rules aside from no spamming)

GENERAL CONFUSION !
I put in a username, and this came up: "You need to install a flash policy daemon at irc.lightirc.com (port 843)."
Someone please tell me what the hell that means.

I had issues getting the server to connect the first time, but now it seems to work fine.

Also, for those who don't know, in order to log in after registering a nick, use:
/msg nickserv identify
/msg nickserv identify (password)
Not sure why that didn't show up the first time.

Sorry, I already have my preferred pony IRC. I have friends there, and I'm too lazy to learn a bunch of new people.
This IRC thing is kinda confusing, I preferred the old chat, although I guess my reasoning is invalid seeing as how I generally don't frequent the chat. Also it's not nearly as colorful and awesome as it used to be.
Now that my bitching is out of the way, awesome job trying to expand the site Seth.
I can't say I like this new chat window. No matter what I try I can't get it to work. I visited the chat quite fequently.

Oh, so that's why I was pleasantly surprised when I tried out the flash chat again tonight and went, "hey, this wasn't an IRC server before!" Awesome, now I can actually use an IRC client like with the #BronyState / brony movie night chatroom instead of potentially slowing shit down by running a flooded Flash-based client.
Just a note, though: irc.lightirc.com is just a redirect to irc.geekshed.net right now. Can't we just use that directly instead to avoid confusion if that changes? It's the same server where #Brony lives after all.

Augh, this new thing sucks. I don't wanna have to reregister and it was way better with the dark background, not to mention that it was immensely easier to keep track of conversations when people could customize colours and whatnot.

With a good IRC client, color customization shouldn't be too big an issue.
