ReplyDeleteThe seriousness in some scenes in part 5 distracted a bit from the silliness that was going on. I also wouldn't have expected Luna to just blurt out intimate wishes like that, even though she did not know how intimate exactly they were. It seemed a bit too much out of character for Luna and even she should that wishes to the stars are very private.

I have never laughed on a fanfiction so hard. This is great, keep up the good work! (By the way, I don't really get it what Luna saw that made her happy, can anyone explain me that?)

ReplyDeleteHrrm, Hoyden is constantly on the edge of me not liking him. But he's constantly on the edge of his own girlfriend not liking him, so that's ok. He's gotta keep the threesome talk down, I mean I know that if your girlfriend has a hot roommate certain thoughts will occur, but you keep them to yourself.

ReplyDeleteWell, this is Luna's first attempt at any *intimate* setting in 1000 years...perhaps her nervousness, coupled with the fact that wishes ARE normally intimate things and thus APPEARED to her as a logical part of affairs for the occasion, short circuited the reasoning to keep them private.
It felt like a natural mistake for her to make, given that she's demonstrated an ability to misplace common sense when she's too busy trying to understand and deal with her current position.
I love how you included the "Brushie Brushie" meme, a little Trollestia, and the Big Mac fanart (I'll try and find it on Ponibooru).

I love this series, it has a great plot, humor, and perfect timing. Only one thing bothered me and that's how the apple family didn't know she was princess Luna after saying that she used to be nightmare Moon? (Although I suppose they could have simply thought she was a wierdo)

ReplyDeleteThe communication story was pretty good, but there's one thing you're starting to do that I'd like to point out. The stories are becoming more about Sundance and Hoyden rather than Luna. This isn't necessarily a bad thing but I'd like to see more from Luna's perspective, pretty please.

ReplyDeleteAlso, I have to reiterate one thing I love about this story as a whole... The genuine affection I feel between Celestia and Luna. While so many people seem to want to paint Celestia as being mean to her sister for the whole "Into the moon" incident, this Celestia does joke around with Luna, but it's never mean-spirited, and I never once doubt that Celestia truly loves her little sister. Kudos to you good sir.

ReplyDeleteYes it is red dye. Pinkie Pie thought a red velvet cake would be just the thing for the Princess. She took the knife and pan out for the simple reason she's... Well... Pinkie Pie. I think it's believable for her to be a bit absent minded about things like that. And it's really not her fault Luna got stuck on Equestrian HBO.
As for the Cupcakes Take That: I have not personally read it but I've seen fanart. That's more than enough for me to throw it in. There will be a humorous resolution to it though.
Thanks again for all the positive comments. Updates will be more sporadic now that I'm going to my job, but I intend to finish this story.

ReplyDeleteSlasher fics are often seen as and called out for being "gornography", but they are still popular mainly due to strange tastes and how macabre and taboo they really are.
I could see something like "Cupcakes" existing in a modern, real-world equivalent of Equestria, as well as other movies that would make Luna quite tense...(if you know what I mean)

ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope your not planning on amping up the sexual innuendo. Lodging was perfectly tasteful, but romance novel stepped on the line. I don't think it crossed it. It's still tasteful, but borderline.

Luna is constantly redoing old things, like the tax system. I would love to see her come across someone in the library (while they don't know who she is of course) who complains about how they've been working for ages doing the same things she's done, getting shot down because they're not important enough to show their work to Celestia and then Luna comes along with the same things they had and gets them implemented instantly.

ReplyDeleteAlso, I think that Luna's imagination is going insane, or else RBD /really/ comes off as a lesbian to just about everyone, if even someone who's never actually met her thinks she's infatuated with other mares. Or maybe part of Luna's own fears were plastered onto to someone at random (with her love of Big Mac being super strong, not that she's also a lesbian you twisted apples), and RBD was just the target? We may never know.
Anyway, no real complaints minus that it was a tad on the short side, even though that was made up with (at least what I thought were) some solid jokes. Glad I can count on you to entertain on a boring day.
