• MLP-MSP - General Updates Including Hotel Situation fixes, Guests, and More

MLP-MSP Had some issues earlier in the year with their planned hotel being closed, but solved it and have a boatload of updates for any of you planning to attend.

    Go get them below!

    MLP-MSP 3 HAS A NEW HOME!

After we were suddenly uprooted we searched high and low for a venue that would offer our guests everything MLP-MSP 3 is going to offer this year.

MLP-MSP IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE WE HAVE SECURED OUR NEW VENUE FOR 2016: WE WILL BE AT THE HYATT REGENCY MINNEAPOLIS!

So we have a new venue, but how will that affect the convention here on out? We look at it as an upgrade. First and foremost, we will be held the same dates: June 10-12. We made sure to keep our dates the same for all of you with booked flights and scheduled days off work. Second, the venue has lots more space which will allow us new programming opportunities including small break-out panels, game rooms, and larger main and side stages! And third, we are also now in the right neighborhood for the first ever MLP-MSP Pub Crawl!
The Hyatt sits on the south end of Minneapolis’ Nicollet Mall, a downtown pedestrian shopping district with restaurants, bars, and shops of all kinds. Our new venue is within easy walking distance of the light rail which runs to both the Mall of America and MSP Airport. The hotel was recently renovated and we have secured the same room night rate of $119 for double/queen rooms. Book your new rooms now!
Vendors: our new vendor hall will give you the same amount of space on its own dedicated floor! We’ll email details to you soon.
We want to thank everyone for their patience and their faith in our event. In the past week of transition we have not received a single refund request. Moreover, your kind words helped and heartened our crew. Thank you Minnesota!
WE'RE PROUD TO WELCOME Marÿke Hendriks AND M. A. LARSON to mlp-msp 3!
After securing our new venue, we didn't want to waste any time in announcing some great additions to MLP-MSP 3. Our new mascot Gwen has been practically begging (but in a cool, hip way of course) to bring the voice of Gilda to Minnesota, and we were happy to oblige. And there’s really no other way to say it: MLP-MSP without M. A. Larson would be like a Sharpie pencil: kind of similar, but ultimately just not as satisfying. We’re excited to bring M. A. Larson back for our third year! Our convention just wouldn’t be the same without our favorite Minnesotan native turned writer, novelist, and graffiti artist, and with the reputation Marÿke has for being an incredibly kind and entertaining guest, we're certain she's going to be a fantastic addition as well.

This isn't the last of our guests either; as if Kelly Sheridan, Brenda Crichlow, and Vincent Tong along with Marÿke and Larson weren't enough we'll be announcing Community Guests, Musicians, and a very special surprise Guest of Honor very soon!

PANEL APPLICATIONS CLOSE SOON, SO GET OVER TO OUR NEW WEBSITE AND APPLY!
