      im sorry, i try to love and tolerate, but no, shes retarded. characters that are CANON asses are just that - asses. they are meant to be rid of, and to show that we dont have to put up with crap like that. Like yeah some trixie fics and fanwork have miraculously pulled through a turnaround, but lets watch the ACUTAL episode and take a look at her CANON personality.

      Yeah, she is a huge jerk. And the way she runs off, she never does learn the lesson of that episode which would have helped her.

      Personally, I want to see everyone (and everypony) succeed. If anyone needs to learn about magic and friendship it's Trixie. I hope she does get her canon redemption.

      Trixie makes me squee. Of course I want her to come back and get a redemption. Gilda as well. I know it was just the fanon that made me love her, [Trixie] and the way she speaks in third person all the time IS admittedly a pain sometimes, but I don't care. And if Gilda comes back and gets a redemption too, that's just icing on the Great and Powerful Cake.

      Really? You've become a fan of a show in which one of the most prominent messages is forgiveness, but you can't forgive a FICTIONAL CHARACTER?

      As for the "we don't have to put up with crap like that", I'm pretty sure it's already been pointed out a bunch of times that Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity started heckling Trixie. Heckling performers is pretty much the best way to get humiliated, every performer whether a magician or a stand-up comedian does it.

      I'm always a bit shocked to find out that people don't like antagonistic characters. I love 'em. I don't want to see Trixie get redemption and become all cuddly and soft. I want Trixie to come back and be snarky and belittle our heroes and lose out in the end.

      Conflict is fun, and Trixie can provide plenty of conflict without ever being a true villain. She doesn't have to be all bad, mind you... she can show some redeeming qualities, but I wouldn't want her to have all of her sharp edges filed down either.

      Friendship is witchcraft is pure gold. I think I've gone through their series at least 10 times now. But I've seen episodes "Cute from the Hip" and "Neigh Soul Sister" at least 15 times each.

      @frequencydragon Nightmare moon was essentially defeated and gotten rid of for good. Luna, her now prominent personality having learned her lesson, shined through and was forgiven by Celestia. Trixie on the other hand, did not learn her lesson, even though she could have/should have.
      As for RBD comment, sure she's sort of the school jock, but she never takes it too far, and for lack of a better term, "isn't that bad." When she is however (mare-do-well episode for example), she does end up understanding the wrong of her ways, unlike trixie, who decided to keep it up despite knowing exactly what position she was in.

      In the end, it's pointless to debate over, seeing as it's all opinion based, but I'm just sayin' - within the actual show, Trixie was an antagonist that didn't learn her lesson.
      But for now I'll quit trolling and/or proving trixie fans wrong /)^3^(\ have a great day!

      What lesson did Trixie have to learn, other than "don't go to towns where 2 retarded kids live - they'll make a bear attack you"? I think she learnt that.

      I still don't get what people think Trixie did wrong. All she did was show up Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity and that's because they heckled her for no reason. It's standard practice to humiliate hecklers.

      I think a lot of people have gone too long without watching the actual episode. Showing off your abilities is one thing, another thing entirely the self-deemed "Great and Powerful" Trixie claiming to be the "most magical unicorn in all of equestria," and proceeding to boast about being the best at everything ever. In the end, after watching twilight do what she clearly could not, she still claims to be the best. On a side note, she is the first to throw out insults when rarity steps up to the challenge. The last mention of her, as she runs away, is Twilight saying "just let her go, maybe one day she'll learn her lesson," which kinda-sorta-a-little-bit-implies that she didn't.

      But yeah lol i hope she learned to avoid ponies like snips&snails...
