• Story Updates December 9th (Morning)

I can't hold all this fanfiction.

Actually there are only four here.  You should see the story review folder though! It's absolute madness!

The pre-readers tossed this omnibus thing together, highlighting stuff they tend to look out for when accepting a story, and giving information on how to fix it.  You guys should totally read it!

    Anyway, have some story updates.

    7. More It Takes a Village?? If he doesn't stop churning them out at this pace, he'll suffer some serious burnout. I'll read it tomorrow though. I must get to sleep. I must. I must! I MUST!!

    9. Oh, that fanfic writing guide.
Man, why do I love reading things with advice on how to write? It's like I read that kind of stuff for enjoyment. XD

    11. Oh, just noticed Editor's Omnibus! It will help me a lot. Writing my own fic has shown me, how much I had forgotten about english since the end of my formal education... Errors in every other sentence...

    12. Very insigthful! Just finished reading, I believe I follow most of the guidelines already, though the punctuation in dialogues still kills me. Why must dialogues in spanish be different than in english UGH

Thanks to all the pre-readers, you guys are amazing and do a nice fine job! YOU'RE ALL AWESOME KEEP ON ROCKIN'!

    15. Thank you so much for that Omnibus! I'm currently writing a story so it really is a great help!

I agree with Al_Skylark, you pre-readers are absolutely superb! Kudos for your hard work!

Also thanks to Seth, Cereal, Phoe and all the others involved for your effort! :)

    16. The omnibus was definitely worth a look. I definitely want to contribute something in the future and this is going to be something I'll be referring to when the time comes. And the fanfics. Well...I'll have to get a peek later today.

    17. Your omnibus is flawed. It goes for OpenOffice over LibreOffice. That's terrible

    20. I had no idea that writing fan-fiction was such a high-brow racket... I mean, all this time, I was just fooling myself into thinking that it was the one form of literature that almost anyone(unless they were completely illiterate) could attempt and show off with pride.

Boy was I fooled... Thank you EqD... you've shown me the error of my ways, and that fan-fiction is so vastly superior to everything else that has ever been written that I need nothing short of a PhD in English to proceed ahead.

With these tools, I'll go forth and write exactly the sorts of story that you want me to write, and all will finally be right with the world.

Well, I'm not in work at the moment, so all I've got to do is write and read fiction! It's not such a hardship to get 10Kish words written and edit them every three days or so when you've got that much spare time on your hooves. So you could say I'm just doing it to keep myself and others entertained :) Because I have fallen so dang hard for this show.

To everypony else: wow! Thank you so much!

(YAY tales of the winter magic academy! *rushes off to read*)

Yeah, finals week is next week but all I have are two take-homes and one in-class final, and I've finished the take home stuff already. (16 credits off my back!)

(And... wait, you're reading MY story? Well then I'm reading yours! *rushes off to read "It Takes a Village"*)

    23. The guide for story writers is nothing short of wonderful. There are college students and "professional" writers that could learn quite a bit from it.

Another good resource for grammar is the book, "Eats Shoots and Leaves," by Lynne Truss. Truss spends a complete chapter on how commas can enhance text.

    26. I have an inexplicable need to explain to everyone who reads the comment section that I'm not reading any of these works of fiction. True story.
