ReplyDeleteScrew that... I say we invade China for their pony resources. Brony population fueled by love for ponies vs. 1.5 billion Chinese... Seems like a fairly balanced battle.
In all honesty, I'd dump all my cash to buy these in a heart beat... if I had cash, and had a clue how taobao worked.
Quite frankly, I'm getting rather angry at hasbro for being onto a 3rd wave of blind bags, and still IGNORING the US market. We have only recieved the small 12 piece Pony Collectors Set from Toys-R-Us, And even that pales in comparison to the whole blind bag collection that exists from wave 1 to the current wave. At this point, I've lost count. But I do believe there are no less than 66 unique ponies at the moment, not counting repeats of the Mane 6 in each wave.
That's a lot of ponies that Hasbro has NOT let the US market get access to.
So... yeah...
I couldn't care less where those ponies come from. We sure ain't getting any from Hasbro!

We haven't seen much pony love at all, really. We have a magazine, Pinkestia, Twilight's balloon, and not much else.

ReplyDeleteSince we know a couple of their names already (Trixie and Caramel), this will be a good test to see how closely tied the toy division is with the show.
If they get those wrong then I will never be able to take the toy names seriously.

Blossomforth's head, walking pose Rarity's body and what looks like Plumsweet's hair. She's plenty cute and all, but more than likely never meant to actually be part of the line. Same seller has a several more in that same vein, including a fashion style Dash with no wings. I'm still waiting to figure out where the Minty brushable is going to fall in all this.
They could just be goofs too. The Minty brushable I got from Taobao has some slight goofs (slight eye wonk, really horrible hair that felt like straw until I gave it a good wash, and some rogue glue spots that had to be scrubbed.) If they're prototypes or goofs, I don't know that it's a question of them "accidentally" falling into someone's bag so much as "Okay, these are no good, we can't sell these, you guys take them and do with them what you will."
Crap, I was seriously hoping they wouldn't make anymore toys based on the background ponies... we all know how well that went over when they changed Lyra and Carrot Top's names... >_<
