The best revenge we can exact against Fox News, Chuck and Dave and any other news outlet that reports us in a negative light is to basically just be decent, honest people. When outsiders see us behaving in a respectable manner (and having jobs where applicable) they will realize the neighsayers are spouting a load of horse hockey. Let the truth speak for itself and the rest will fall into place.

Oh Fox, why so much fail. Interesting stories, but a ton of research would make these trends believable. Lucky i've been in this community for a while and there are some bronies out there who have real lives (hell even at the army)! And while I am still unemployed, I secretly want a job, mainly someplace where I can be comfortable with and still have pony... Target, Wal Mart, and Toys R Us.

ReplyDeleteHowever, sickening as Fox's portrayal of Bronydom may be, I'd recommend against any large scale letter-writing. As other's have pointed out, their "report" will quickly be forgotten. A response from us would only prolong it's time in the limelight, which would mean more negative publicity. Besides, Fox's main demographic is the ultra-conservative American, who usually take Fox's word as gospel. We would be unlikely to change any minds, regardless of what action we take.
Granted, this is apparently a local station, so that generalisation may not hold water, but given how they initially reported on the fandom, any action from us, no matter how well intentioned or though out, will probably be spun and distorted, until it fits their own view of us.

Since the blog is so well known, it would probably come off as the "Official" response of the fandom. Thereby avoiding the radicals being cast as the norm by other (not Fox News) organizations.

Any other news channel, and I would completely support emailing them, but Fox will just take a few lines out of context, even in a nice email, and make it look like it's sent by a rabidly insane person. Don't bother with emailing, simply because it's Fox. Anyone else pulls this shit, go for it.

The premise of this guys show seems to be solely "I make fun of people who are different" while his sidekick sits there and feeds his ego.
