They are also looking to re-create those 3D statues (with the stupid sexy plot in tact...).
Their main goal here seems to be scale, and using ridiculous amounts of blocks to cover the world in pixel ponies. A noble goal to be sure!
Currently access to the server is limited to a select few, but they are willing to invite people to join from the comments below for some of their larger projects.
Also check up the map that updates over time for it!

ReplyDelete#1 No Griefing. Region protection prevents editing on important areas. (Fire Spreading is disabled so don't try)
#2 Those that want to see Equestria must take "The Walk" as a rite of passage.
#3 Bronyville is the free build area. Just respect the constructions of others.

I'm not too interested for now, the Ponycraft.net already has the Obama pony posters (Which I started with the Tyrant Celestia), and most of the towns were finished waaaaay long ago.

ReplyDeleteIf I may interrupt, I don't think the description of just being a "Pixel art" server fits. We're more of just a bunch of friends hanging out and building, the bits of pixel art around the server weren't the main goal at all. -Tomato

If this existed about 3 years ago, when I was into Roblox, I would have been an awesome asset, because I would bee working diligently and I would not have invested so much in xbox gear..... blah blah. Im not asking to join, I would just like to "follow" it somehow.
ReplyDeleteFor those reading this and not aware of all the MLP minecraft servers to choose from, here's all the ones I know about.
ReplyDelete* www.mylittleminecraft.com - that's my server, its in what you might call "creative mode" where everyone has access to the /item command, so you can just summon whatever materials you want. Focus is on building and creating art, we take the mining and crafting out of minecraft. It's not freebuild, everything has to be in theme, its a replica of Equestria plus other things that arent in the show but are in theme, like Trixiland theme park, etc.. Our server is covered in pixel art as well.
* www.ponycraft.net - Only mods can summon items, so its more like normal minecraft. So there is some value to gathering resources, along with an economy. Strong community here as well with good broneys. The spawn area is "freebuild", so they are less strict.
* www.ponycraft.org - not associated with ponycraft.net. It doesn't seem like they want new people, yet they posted a video here so maybe they do? Their website has no information on it (yet).
* steam group server. It doesnt try to build a replica of Equestria, it looks like some pony fans started a server, so the towns are all pony named, but look nothing like the show except a few sprites here and there. It looks like a decent generic minecraft server though.
* Then theres these 2 ponycraft websites here and here, I can't tell if either or both are related to ponycraft.org. I know neither are related to ponycraft.net. Not really that useful, but I'm listing this here for completeness.

ReplyDeleteThis news post is about the Minecraft Forums Brony Community server. This server is not completely about MLP, you will also see regular buildings around here. However, we aren't a Brony Community for nothing, and we have a nice collection of pixelart, the biggest one being this pixelart featured in the news post.
For the people who like to just keep up with it, without joining: That's possible. I posted a link to a map earlier. This map is updated every 12 hours, and you can follow the progress there.
In case you didn't see it, here is the link again.
For the people who really want to join: We are the brony community from the Minecraft Forums. I am sure you will be able to find us. To keep this server free from flooding and griefing, we decided to not give out a direct link.

ReplyDeleteSorry for doubleposting. Anyways, this project isn't really my project, it is started by Bazul. He sent me the source image, though, and both of us are making the shapes/outlines. I will take over the project for the next few days, when Bazul is away, to make sure there is enough to do for the people who want to help. Still, it is started by Bazul, not me.
The large running Twilight pixelart, however, is completely made by me.
