• Ponies Invade Dagorhir

Ponies. Ponies everywhere. Where will the ponies invade next? Who knows?! Teh nose nose.

    From the email:
I play Dagorhir, which is a full contact melee combat sport that uses padded weapons. It's a blast to play and good exercise to boot. The best part is the creativity that goes into it. My main shield is just too heavy when I have to run for an extended period of time. I needed something lighter. So I built an all foam round shield and covered it with this.

    PONIES. back to bed. zzzzzzzzz.

    6. Seth, either get up early or sleep-in. Don't do both. It makes you look silly.

    7. I see you two as a whole entity. Either that or I just can't read.

    8. Padded weapons are for Fluttershys.

      Real ponies use metal swords.

    9. I'm sorry but I loled at "full contact melee combat sport that uses padded weapons."

I'm sure it's fun, and I'd honestly play that, but it sounds like a long winded coverup for "LARP".

    10. Yeah, it's a LARP, but like with the Society for Creative Anachronism, role-playing your character and leveling up don't really happen. You just fight a lot. It's sort of the D&D4E of LARPs (not that I dislike 4E!). I used to play a little—it's pretty fun, though I enjoy regular martial arts practice a bit more.

    13. Dude! I saw this shield in weapons check at gates of fire! Who are you and what realm do you hail from!?

    14. I'm now in Urk Kuldar anon and this is my dag name. I'm one of those filthy ****ing facepainters :P. I hail from Maethodoron. I'll be at Rag this year. Truth be told I messed up on that shield cover and it's too small for the shield. It's also got a nasty grease stain which makes me sad. Hopefully I can clean it up and make it actually fit the shield.

    15. I'm flashing back to Role Models as we speak. I wanted to do this kind of thing so bad when I saw that movie.

And now that desire is nearly overpowering.

    16. Oh god it's medieval airsoft.

    17. Haha anon, now that is the perfect way to describe it. Medieval airsoft.

Aquaman, do a google search to find a Dagorhir/Belegarth unit in your area. Same sport with some slightly different rules. Generally people are very welcoming to new people and will loan you stuff.
