    2.) Brony Speech

    1. I forgot how to type properly.

I'm just so impressed by Celestia.

      Trolling her own country.

    2. Get that song on the internet now! We need it all it's full HD Glory!

It's great they all wore the dresses Rarity Designed for them.

And yes, every mane character completely Snaps in the series at least once. I thought Fluttershy would have to wait until season 2. Wrong again...

Now, we need a comic of Derpy Snapping as well. She WAS at the Gala, and I'm sure she's not too happy that the whole place was destroyed and ruined her Best Night Ever.

Also, Trollestia is know trolling all of Equestria, and she had this plan set in stone at the beginning of the series!

    3. ...wait... was all the Cinderella references just one long set up for the shattering of the glass slipper joke?

    4. THE BEST EPISODE EVER!.. trying to think of another one but the is just the Galloping Gala

      ReplyDelete
    5. Second Sondheim reference caps a great season! Not a top tier episode, but plenty of fun. Now let's all hope for DVD/Blu-Ray/Soundtrack releases!

      ReplyDelete
    6. And from this nigth on Rarity only date mares XD

      ReplyDelete
    7. So Celestia knew/hoped that the mane cast would liven things up?

And she STILL didn't invite Luna...

Maybe a comic of both Luna and Celestia going like:

Luna - So was the Gala as boring as it always was for the past 1000 years?

Celestia - Actually Twilight and her friends really managed to make the whole experience enjoyable!

Luna - ...and knowing this you still said I should skip?

Celestia - *makes a troll face*

      Luna - *rage*

      ReplyDelete
    8. Trollestia trolls hard again!

No Luna made me a sad pony

      1) Eh, I suppose you have a point there.

      2) Well, yeah. I just think the scene needed a little fleshing out. It cuts straight from "oh gosh we all ruined the party let's run away" to everyone being grumpy over donuts and then "yay we're together now!".

      3) Well, considering she saved their lives, she could get at least a little attention. Just a minor complaint, though.

      ReplyDelete
    10. I dare say this was one of the better episodes yet... while I'd agree that the mane cast was behaving in very "OOC" manners, it was all to accentuate the way people tend to put so much pressure on themselves for big events (dances, conventions, etc...) that they lose sight of who they really are and or want / need... which is in some cases just to relax and enjoy a night out with your friends.

Well done and my hats off to the staff for this show, hope season two is just as good if not better.

      ReplyDelete
    11. @Anonymous

This. This so much. I mean, she's not at "If you look at anypony else I'll cut your eyes out" levels but there is a little darkness there. Adorable darkness.

      ReplyDelete
    12. I really didn't like the way the episode ended though. The girls didn't learn anything. It was just 'this party sucks, let's get out of here' and that was it.

      Alt endings!
Fluttershy: Makes friends with the groundskeeper colt she was ignoring and, through his understanding of the gardens, befriends the animals too.

Rarity: Realizes much sooner that Blueblood is a jerk and dumps him, instead making friends with a more down-to-earth colt who actually was behaving gentlemanly.

Pinkie Pie: Stops trying to force the issue and learns that there's more than just the raucous 'let's be crazy' kind of parties. Gets some culture and learns how to enjoy more refined gatherings.

Rainbow Dash: Stops trying to be the center of attention and waits her turn to get a chance to talk with the Wonderbolts. Learns some -patience-.

Twilight and Applejack... I got nothing. They just sort of got screwed over by circumstances they really should have seen coming.

    13. @Dat fucking Writefag
Rarity was totally the dumper there. She gave him a peiece of her mind and I think he choked on it.

    14. We love you Fluttershy :D. (please don't kill us)

      ReplyDelete
    15. Not gonna lie, insane Fluttershy is now my mane ship

      ReplyDelete
    16. Really great episode! Felt a little fast, but when you have six characters to cover and an epic song to fit in that's perfectly understandable.

Absolutely cracked up at snapped Fluttershy! I did not expect that but considering the circumstances I can see why Fluttershy went a little nuts.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the last episode of the season. It might not be the best, but it certainly was a high tier episode and it was a good way to end the season. Here's to season two everyone!

      ReplyDelete
    17. @Dat fucking Writefag
      Rarity totally dumped him.

      ReplyDelete
    18. Whilst this was a great episode, I have to admit that I laughed more at the people on the stream who were gobsmacked at the Gyrobowl than the episode itself.

Dang it, now I want one. What was that phone number again?

      ReplyDelete
    19. Everybody but Spike! He wasn't at the Gala, he was off getting drunk on donuts with extra sprinkles!

      ReplyDelete
    20. Celestia got shifty eyed at the end... Dun~ dun~ dunnnnn~

      ReplyDelete
    21. Trollestia strikes again! Epic win right there!

      Physco Fluttershy vs. Physco Pinkamena
Who do you think will win?
(I know it will be Fluttershy, but I want your opinions)

      ReplyDelete
    22. Over under on time before Fluttershy cupcakes-esque fanfic on EqD?

      ReplyDelete
    23. I did feel bad for Spike, actually. Ever since 'Ticket Master', we knew the -only- reason he wanted to go was to hang out with everyone else. He had his 'best/worst night ever' same as every other Pony, just off screen. Would have been nice to have cut to him once or twice to establish what he was up to during the whole event.

      ReplyDelete
    24. @Oleetar

I think where the Wonderbolts were concerned, we had much the same situation that Twilight was having with Celestia. Too many fanbronies demanding attention.

Blueblood was an out and out dick though.

      ReplyDelete
    25. And so the Great Pony Drought of 2011 begins...

      ReplyDelete
    26. We learned a couple of different things here.

Horses are a different species than Ponies, who are sapient, horses look like real horses and are not intelligent.

There is some classism in Equestria, as demonstrated by Blueblood.

~I think where the Wonderbolts were concerned, we had much the same situation that Twilight was having with Celestia. Too many fanbronies demanding attention.~

Agreed. The Wonderbolts (especially the pie-loving one... forgot his name) seemed a lot more down-to-earth and were just dealing with being high profile celebrities. I'm sure Dash would have had a much better time with them if she'd caught them after the party rather than during it.

      ReplyDelete
    28. @Anonymous: Who exactly are you shipping insane Fluttershy with?

Also, Dash's solo was awesome. And was it just me, or did AJ drop her accent for the singing part?

Fluttershy, you silly pony. Oh man, "YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE ME!" = best line ever.

As soon as he said "Prince Blueblood" I was like "this cannot end well."

One last thing: people seem to be missing that there was a time skip near the end, in the donut shop. It's pretty obvious (at least, I thought so) that they'd spent an hour or so telling each other how horribly wrong their respective nights had gone.

      ReplyDelete
    29. Song was amazing (especially Rainbow Dash, she seriously needs more music), Fangirl Dash is adorable, Obsessive Fluttershy is kinda scary (and hilarious), and this wrapped up the season quite nicely. :D

Now to wait until December for season 2. :C

      ReplyDelete
    37. To date this is the fastest too two hundred comments for any episode of my little ponies ever made.

But look at it this way, they didn't go for the girly fairy tale everything went wonderfully thing. They tore up Rarity and Fluttershy badly, Rainbow Dash is now a wanted vandal and Pinkie doesn't do quiet parties.

      ReplyDelete
    38. @Lily I know there's going to be another one. Just have to figure stuff to do till then.

Like making more crappy videos, that for some odd reason ponies seem to like.

SO many projects that I started and would possibly like to finish.

      ReplyDelete
    39. The only drawback in this episode, and by only drawback I mean all of the little things that didn't quite feel right, would have been alleviated if this were given a longer time spot. the only real root of this episode's problem is there wasn't enough time.

Fluttershy's descent into madness could have been more graduated and natural, there could have been a scene between the cast leaving the gala and the doughnut shop, there could have been more time to flesh all the weaker parts out and add in interesting moments that would have helped the flow of this episode.

so basically the only problem with this episode is it was too ambitious for it's allotted time slot.

      ReplyDelete
    40. Did i hear crazy fluttershy? I need a youtube link right now!!! D:

Agreed, really should have a two-parter.

      Still good though.

      ReplyDelete
    42. I thought fluttershy was totally in character. I saw it coming since "griffon the brush off" when she got mad a pinkie with the whole "I'm a year older than you."
I've been around shy people enough to know that they're REALLY easy to anger... well... at least my sister is.

      ReplyDelete
    43. I thought this episode was amazing! I loved every minute! The song was magnificent and a bonus for me since Into the Woods is my favorite musical. Also Rainbow Dash's new crush seemed pretty nice. That prince was a dick, I loved when Rarity shook the cake on him, I would have kind of preferred if she beat his ass. But she is a lady so I understand. Fluttershy went ballistic, it was kind of scary.

      ReplyDelete
    44. not on youtube yet, I'll have it up soon as I get a decent dl link.

      ReplyDelete
    45. Could have been alleviated by a shorter song. It was good but it left me wondering, "Is it over yet?"

      ReplyDelete
    46. Just some observations I made that aren't so obvious:

--There are at least three ponies in this episode with Lyra's cutie mark. One is Lyra herself. One plays the harp. One is at the end of Pinkie Pie's song with the line, "Young lady!" and is the EXACT same pony as the one who yells out about Fluttershy's clumsiness in episode 20, then is swayed by Rarity's opinion.

--Derpy derps in one of Rainbow Dash's scenes near the end.

--Dr. Hooves was in the scene with Rainbow Dash trying to hold up the statue.

    52. I see some people commenting on no Luna, and I may have an answer for that. Remember, until earlier that year, Luna was considered one of the greatest threats to Equestria. Even if she is good now, it may not be good for her to be at such an event just yet. Not until she's integrated back into society. Politics and all.

      ReplyDelete
    53. Evilshy made the episode to be honest, If I can be truly upset about the thing it was the lack of action for Twilight and Applejack...

AJ shoulda brought Applebloom, she coulda sold them apples!

      ReplyDelete
    56. @Winter
Actually, that sounds a little awkward.

"Hey Luna, nice to see you again! Remember that time last year when we totally stopped you from destroying the world? Good times. Wanna get some punch?"

      ReplyDelete
    58. @Winter

Maybe, yes, but remember that this is Equestria's elite. Besides, if it was Celestia's intent all along to have the party wrecked in an entertaining way, it would have ruined Luna's return. Elite's tend to find the easiest target to blame for such a thing, and a former omnicidal maniac would be connected to the incident and made to lok like she was relapsing.

    66. Ah, I see. So instead she can blame her foremost student for ruining the gala.

Although we do not know just how much time has passed since the incident and the gala (Winter Wrap-Up at 11 and Fall Weather Friends at 13), it feels like a step backwards from Luna riding the chariot with Celestia (Episode 2). Yes, they were only in the small town of Ponyville, but still, we know Paparazzi are everywhere. Imagine the juicy tabloid story that would have made.

A Cameo appearance would not have been out of order, even if she had just joined spike for some donuts. ;)

Actually, yeah, I am really surprised. We see her still have her full set of lashes when she's all weeping and robe-wearing back in "Suited for Success". I thought those were her real lashes, so it was sort of a 'wait, wha?' moment to see them as falsies.

I mean, it makes sense, especially since she's actually a small-town girl like AJ, but still...

      @Winter
~So instead she can blame her foremost student for ruining the gala.~

Twilight was with Celestia the whole time. While the other ponies were her guests, I doubt that was common knowledge. Odds are Pinkie Pie would get the most heat since she was making the biggest nuisance of herself and was the first domino that started the chain reaction.

      ReplyDelete
    76. Addendum --
Just rewatched the scene... apparently Rarity doesn't have eyelashes at all without the falsies. That's kind of odd... even AJ and RD have lashes.

    78. @Winter

Princess Celestia loves her little sister, and the GGG sucks. That's my theory why Luna isn't there and I'm sticking to it.

As for why Celestia would subject the mane cast to the Gala when she wouldn't do it to her sister, well, the mane cast is a group of friends and Luna's only friend at the moment is her sister. Twilight and her friends can get through the night with some laughs because friendship is magic, while Luna would have been in the same boat as Twilight without the happy ending.

I'm glad someone else has noticed the similarities to the music of Sondheim. Rarity's song in "Suited for Success" is very similar to "Putting it Together" from Sunday in the Park with George.

I love Sondheim's music, so it was a plus the first time, but the tune didn't seem to flow as well this time...

    87. Didn't like it as much as everyone else seemed to. I agree with the consensus that they needed 45 minutes and they got 22. Everyone should have learned a lesson here, but the episode just ended too quickly. On the other hoof, I laughed out loud for several seconds multiple times throughout the episode. It had some hilarious jokes, raging Fluttershy and out-Prissied Rarity is just comic gold. I didn't really like either of the two songs. It didn't really sound like the actual characters singing them like it usually does despite the different actresses performing. They feel like the weakest song of the series (with the exception of Rainbow Dash's amazing solo).

      ReplyDelete
    88. @Anonymous

    95. I think the songs were needed as they allowed the episode to fluently A) remind us of each Mane 6's hopes and dreams regarding the gala (which was certainly wise since not all the audience is as pony-obsessed as we are, and The Ticket Master was 22 episodes ago), and then B) provided the necessary story montage of (which kept the already too-ambitious-for-22-minutes episode from losing even more content).

If anything, I think they needed a short song, perhaps a repraise, at the end to montage the post-party conversations and good times that were implied but sorely missed.

    99. on to the episode and OMG it was the best episode... Well I don't want to say ever but it's pretty darn close.

I love how Trollestia pretty much WANTED them to wreck the gala since even she admitted that's why she invited them in the first place..

Prince Blueblood was everything I expected EXCEPT he didn't have a Thurston Howell the III voice. What the heck Lauren? But on the plus side it made for some pretty funny moments with Rarity. Especially when he uses her as a freakin' shield when the cake is "COMIN' RIGHT FOR US!"

Evil Fluttershy was definitely one of the high points of the episode. Especially her maniacal laugh and her "LOVE MEEEEEEEEEE!" line

I'm sorry but the whole Rainbow Dash thing was pathetic though.

Of course Pinkie was adorable and her song was great. Those snooty patoties just don't know how to have a good time. But really Pinkie you should have brought DJ P3NY or at least she should have been there. By the way was Derpy there?

and lets just say all the cinderella undertones were hilarious. Especially Rarity's glass slipper moment.

and well not to get too much into shipping but I'm convinced that Twilight x Celestia is canon. Twi wants to be around the princess WAAAAAAAAAY more than is probably healthy. Especially when she wants to be "alone" with her. Wonder how long she's been dreaming of that?

Too bad we didn't get to see Luna though.

Oh and well Applejack... Well she was pretty forgettable. Though I have to admit blueblood was right. It's not very appropriate to sell carny food at an upper class function.

and spike getting drunk on donuts. Oh man I will never forget that.

      Overall Celestia-tier episode

and of course the donut pony must be named Dunkin.

    104. Ehh...wasn't my favourite, but I think I'll need to rewatch it in HD. Fluttershy more than made up for it. Still don't think it quite topped Flutterguy, though.

    105. ~Evil Fluttershy was definitely one of the high points of the episode. Especially her maniacal laugh and her "LOVE MEEEEEEEEEE!" line ~

I just realized that this episode kind of gave merit to some brony's theory that if a Pony is denied their 'special talent', they go a little nuts in reaction. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy both rail off the deep end and go into a polar opposite of their usual personality... we just need one more before it officially becomes a pattern.

~I'm convinced that Twilight x Celestia is canon. Twi wants to be around the princess WAAAAAAAAAY more than is probably healthy. Especially when she wants to be "alone" with her.~

My shipping goggles aren't on. Figure that Twilight has been Celestia's protegee and lived in Canterlot her entire adolescent life. Then the series kicks in and she lives in Ponyville, only seeing Celestia a few scant times over an entire year. Is it so surprising that she'd miss what is likely her oldest friend and want to spend time with her?

Replying about the Twilight/Celestia thing. I don't see it. I mean, Twilight has actual parents, so my once fond thought that Celestia was effectively Twilight's adopted mom is pretty much out the window, but Celestia still had a big part in raising Twilight considering she was her private tutor. I figure for Twilight Celestia is very much a maternal figure.

    126. SPOILERS

I thought it made so much sense at the end. I was looking forward to an episode where each of the ponies got exactly what they were expecting. It didn't seem too unreasonable that Pinky would enjoy the party, or that Fluttershy would spend time with the animals.

However, they pretty much nailed it at the end; the whole thing is a super super high class snobby formal event. They wouldn't so much as touch Applejack's food, have a good time with Pinky, and the animals were spoiled as well. Their expectations were way off, and it was hilarious to see the results.

I initially felt bad for them, especially since there was so much buildup to it. But the end where they practically destroyed the place was too satisfying. It's very realistic to how life works, you get something slightly less than what you'd expect, but you manage to still enjoy yourself anyways. Great Season Finale.

    127. Oh sweet, merciful me! That Avengers parody with Fluttershy as the Hulk now makes sense!

    128. Also I need to note to people that in 1:34 with the "blue pony's head imploding", the circle is actually part of how the characters are drawn. The nose and mouth are added to the circle after it is drawn and then more details are made. You guys can compare this to the Derpy moment in episode 1. Either it was accidental or it was an animator who wanted to add a "WTF" moment.

      ReplyDelete
    129. On a final note...**** the bourgeoisie.

    130. A good episode. I agree that the ending went by a little fast but overall I greatly enjoyed myself. It was a good conclusion to the season, and I loved the Gala Song. Can't wait for all the remixes.
I understand that given Rainbow Dash and Applejack's personalities they would be the least likely to break into song, but it is still a shame that they can't take advantage of Ashleigh Ball's singing voice more often, given that she is a professional singer. Maybe Daniel Ingram could write a rock ballad and sad country song for next season.

      On a more serious note...
Now we enter the summer and wait for new episodes in the fall. But that does not mean that it is a Pony Drought?. Now our fandum enters the time that will make us or break us. Do we prove that MLP: FiM is more then a passing fad or a simple internet meme, or do we fall into obscurity for the next several months? Look to these coming months not with sadness but with hope and expectation for things to come.
This community is filled with many amazing and talented writers, artists, composers, video editors, and people who just like to sit and talk that can fill the intervening months with tons of Pony related works and discussions until season 2 starts.
That being said pace yourselves, its a long wait and we don't want to run out of ideas to quickly. Besides Season 2 will provide even more inspiration for even fan fiction, art, music and videos. Is that not enough to get excited about? Let the speculation and theories begin!
And with the communication age we live in we can continue to send words of encouragement and praise to Lauren and the rest of the MLP: FiM team as they continue to work to work tirelessly make next season just as much of a success as the first

    144. Anypony else notice that in the beginning AJ pretty much confirmed that they are self-aware of their nakedness? Which leads to question: Equestria => nudist colony? ;3 *in Homer's voice* "D'oh Stupid Sexy Ponies!"

On another note, I agree with others that the episode felt very truncated for it's content potential. I'm willing to bet Faust and team had alot they wanted to include and just couldn't due to budget/time constraints.

As far as, all the mane cast having "lost their minds" this season, I think that makes them much more relate-able. Especially to kids who over-hype themselves and put their desire on a pedestal, only to be crushed when the truth isn't as glamorous/fantastic as thought.

I also don't think theirs any kind of romantic subtext to TS's feelings towards Celestia. I can see how one "could" extrapolate that, but to me it's more akin to how I was with my aunt or uncle. When I was younger I idolized them both very much because of how they treated me. They were always matter-of-fact about whatever I asked and never condescending. Whenever I visited them, I was by their side constantly, which I realize was probably pretty annoying, but they were always gracious and kind. I learned alot from them.

It is of my opinion that this is how TS sees Celestia, as highly respected extended family member. For Celestia, I suspect she reciprocates because TS is sincere in her feelings, while most of the other ponies that she interacts with on a daily basis in Canterlot are probably of the selfish, duplicitous, demagoguery mentality that elites are known for. This probably also affects Celestia's Trollestia tendencies.

      And again I've over analyzed a child's cartoon about ponies @_@ ... ._.'

    158. My only real issue with this episode was the abrupt ending. The whole 'everything failed our expectation, but we're all friends so it's THE BEST NIGHT EVER!'

Usually, when me and my friends get together after something goes horribly wrong, we just sit and whine about what went wrong before finally coming to grips with the fact that, yeah, it could have been worse. We're not about to call it the best though.

At least not for the next few nights. After a week though, we'll be laughing our butts off at what transpired and admitting that we got one heck of a good story out of it.

Still, the resolution seemed rather empty... then again, maybe that's part of the reason I wanna live in a place like Ponyville.

    165. Nice episode, although in the end it was too much slapstick.
But Crazyshy was... scary in a great way.
I also liked Rainbow Dashs Part of the song.

      ReplyDelete
    166. The entire point of this episode seemed specifically tailored to break the fairytale reality theme that everything is always going to go the main characters way eventually.

Laughing then shaking off a bad day is a great way to prove you won't let almost anything get to you.

Kind of like "Swarm of the century" where Ponyville is destroyed and stays destroyed, it doesn't magically fix itself and the damage obviously caused a few fires.

      ReplyDelete
    167. The whole first half of the episode was as good as FiM gets. It was amazing and that Sondheim inspired song was just brilliant. They put as much work into this cartoon as many people put into full theatrical release animated movies.

However the second half started to fall apart a bit. Fluttershy's breakdown just didn't seem right at all, but more importantly they had to rush everything, leaving absolutely no time for what needed to be three minutes of having fun together at the end and getting over their disappointment before the 'moral'.

Also they missed a great chance at a joke with Cellestia banishing them all to the moon before saying 'gotcha' and telling them that she enjoyed it. And that part was silly too - they didn't just ruin the party they ruined her castle!

But nitpicking aside, it would have been better as a two-parter and was rushed, but still wonderful. Two-parters are bad for the little kids at home, because they might never catch the second part for weeks if ever.

      ReplyDelete
    168. I'm agreeing that this would have better as a two-parter; I'm willing to bet that this was another case of corporate mismanagement (We already have a two-parter, we can't have two pf them, will make it harder to show them in any order as reruns!). That said, I think they did the best they could with the time allotted to them, and I greatly enjoyed it.

      Some thoughts:
Celestia, knowing that Twilight's friends were going to 'crash' the party, made sure to keep Twilight Sparkle next to her to 1) help keep her scandal free from the fallout of the Gala's collapse and 2) keep Twilight from possibly stopping her friends. Celestia = benevolent troll indeed!

Hardest part of watching this on YouTube was not stopping after the end of the epic Gala song just to replay it again and again (I'll be doing that after I finish typing this out, lol)

Add my voice to the choir praising Fluttershy. She stole the episode. (And we DO love you Fluttershy! Honest! Please don't use The Stare on us!!)

I won't be going anywhere during the break. I have fanfictions to write, dang it, and from what I've seen this fanbase capable of doing at the drop of a hat for each other (an example, the friend offs), these seven months will pass by quickly.

      ReplyDelete
    169. I think the earlier poster was right, Celestia had masterminded the entire disaster as a practical joke on her nobility. From Twilight's letters she'd have an excellent understanding of Twilight's friends and I'd imagine that a thousand years of politics would make reading their stress points easy. She know's that their likely to combust so she's careful to keep Twilight with her so her conduct is above reproach as Celestia's student. Without Twilight around to guild them the other's are completely out of their depth at an upperclass event like the Gala with the possible exception of Rarity. If they'ed stayed together they may not have had much fun but they're wouldn't have been the overwelming stress.
If Celestia was trying to add a couple of straws to a pony's back in addition to removing Twilight's guidence she could easily of arranged for the gardener and Blueblood to be in the way, and to raise Apple Jack's hopes by making sure the Wonderbolts knew where to find some simple filling grub after their performance.
Not her style I think though, use a friends to stir up a gathering? Definately, she openly admits it. However I don't see her as the type to aid in trampling a Pony's dreams unless there was a *very* good reason and livining up a party isn't enough. Not that I think she'd protect a pony from shatering their own dreams, while harsh their is very important leasons to be learned from it.
      For example;
Twilight's learned that despite what she thinks a Princess's time is not their own.
Pinkie's learned that what's fun for one pony isn't for another.
Rarity's learned that high breeding is not synonymous with good character
I make no arguement however that these and other lessons were actually *learned*

      ReplyDelete
    170. One question though... does this mean that Rarity's additional eyelashes seen throughout the series have been falsies this entire time?

      ReplyDelete
    171. It's up on Youtube on Pensivepony's channel!

      ReplyDelete
    172. Let's see... ponies gone crazy checklist (listing what I believe is the most severe)...
Twilight - 1. Swarm of the Century: Inability to maintain a carefully planned event. 2. Feeling Pinkie Keen: Inability to analyze and study Pinkie Pie.
Pinkie Pie - Part of One: Believe friend dislike her party.
Fluttershy - The Best Night Ever: Inability to connect with animals.
Rarity - Suited for Success: Failure to make perfect dress.
Rainbow Dash - Sonic Rainboom: Paralyzing fear of failure/losing.
Applejack - Fall Weather Friends (maybe?): Inability of friend (Rainbow Dash) to be honest.

Only difference is in "snappage" severity:
Pinkie Pie >= Fluttershy > Rainbow Dash > Twilight Sparkle > Rarity > Applejack

(Twilight Sparkle is a bit difficult to place, she does "snap" a lot, but she tend to recover fairly quickly and the snapping is less severe).

Looks like FIM world will need quite a lot of psychiatrists if every pony is like this.

Although you can "hand-wave" that the six are more severely affected due to them being part of the element of harmony ("With great power comes great insanity"?)

Sort of like the beginning of Party of One for Pinkie Pie.
But on second look, yeah, 'Applebuck Season' would be the point that Applejack went a bit coo coo (not exactly full out crazy).

Hm... wonder where's all the psychiatrist ponies.

I'd put Rarity as losing her mind anytime her level of popularity changes (goes down on Suited, up on Rainboom, either way she's crazy). But yeah, they're all insane. Except for Applejack who is just stubborn, and who occasionally employs backwards hillbilly logic.

I wonder if there will ever be a time in which the Princess looses trust in Twilight, since that seems like it'd cause maximum crackage?

      5. Kind of hoped for Fluttershy to make friends with the gardener and was a bit surprised that the animals ran from her.
      6. Huh, Rainbow Dash didn't completely fail at her stunts until the last one and the Wonderbolts were surprisingly cool.
      7. Omg another pinkie song, what does it take to make a PARTY!
      8. ...hide me...
      9. That cake looked nice although I think it would have been better if the prince had a bit more rage than whimper.
      10. ...HIDE ME AGAIN!
      11. Lol trollestia.
      12. Well, they ARE right. That is the only way to feel better after having your dreams dashed (trust me, I know).

Overall a VERY good anding to the season but it did feel like it needed 2 parts.

    182. Wait, quick psychology mass guessing.
It appears that ponies are unable to handle cognitive dissonance.
Whereas in normal individuals (irl humans), face with an event that force them to behave against their expectation/nature, normal individual is capable of generating "excuses" to reduce cognitive dissonance, which reduce mental stress.
Ponies, on the other hand, does not appear to possess that ability (or very limited ability). Which leads to rapid stress build-up. However, it also appear that ponies do become more tolerant to those stresses if exposed to it for a long time (not exactly stop the snappage, but to get over it quickly).
      Case in point.
Twilight Sparkle: All her "gone crazy" episodes tend to be over quickly. And since she likely had a lot of those episodes, one can reasonably conclude that she's mentally prepared to "gloss it over".
Pinkie Pie: On the opposite extreme, she appears to never had an event that strongly challenges her nature (throwing party and making people laugh). The first moment of significant challenge, she snaps and don't recover for a long time.
Fluttershy: Had multiple "episodes", minor ones where she employs "The Stares", which generally resolve the issue quickly (basically, The Stare looks like her automated mental defense). However, when that no longer work... CRACK.
Others are on a spectrum of mental stress tolerance and trigger "weight".

    183. Just finished watching the new episode. Wow. It seems like the man 6 have some serious issues when they're not around each other.

Twilight's stalking of Pinkie in "Feeling Pinkie Keen" and breakdown in "Swarm of the Century"

Rarity's OCD getting the best of her in "Suited for Success" and "Winter Wrap Up"

The problems caused by Applejack's pride in "Apple Buck Season"

Rainbow Dash's nervous breakdown in "Sonic Rainboom"

Pinkie Pie's descent into madness in the last episode.

Fluttershy's rage getting the best of her in this episode.

All I can say is, there is a serious need for therapist ponies in Ponyville.

(This finale sure lived up to my high expectations.)

    184. Those who wondered about the Wonderbolt male's name - Soren. The name is Danish from starters, Søren. I haven't read those Guardian books (The one with the owls) but the main person there is named Soren as well, so maybe it's inspired from there?

And gosh, I knew Pinkie was the raving type! http://rannva.deviantart.com/art/Pinkie-and-the-Stick-206654746

Celestia's "run" was hilarious. I loved all the jokes in the episode, even though the story was rushed, but the run-part was just priceless! It was just perfectly timed, good "blank" expression and minimum dialog between her and Twilight, which made it a cartoon gem! xD

    185. @Gent
Doesn't have to be. In Pinkie Pie's case, it's her "perceived" lost of friendship (who she can laugh with) that cracks her.
The lost of trust can just be "perceived", not actual.
      Hm... might lead to this...
      Miracle of Twilight
      "NOW DO YOU TRUST ME?"

      @aramaru
Um... Twilight has cracked twice (actually, more then any other cast. Which you only see them actually crack once).
      1. Feeling Pinkie Keen - went all flaming and such.
      2. Swarm of the Century - went full crazy.

P.S. Decided to not use anony, for easier references.
