• Nightly Roundup #807

I got this really sweet email from an artist in Peru who recently submitted this lovely piece to a contest in her country. As a fan of traditional art I just had to put this up here! Wonderful work E-chan thanks for sharing this with us tonight!

Sorry we are a little late tonight. My compiler completely ate all of my work when I was just about done and had to do it all over again. Oh well, can't be helped right? Anyhow, on to the news!

    Tonight's Successful Meetups

    Bronies of Souther Florida Meetup

On October 26th, members of the Bronies of South Florida Meetup group went to "House of Horrors" Amusement Park in Miami, FL to celebrate Nightmare Night! It was a fun meetup where we went on rides, watch little people wrestle (I think It was the same group from Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling), talked about Ponies and Pokemon, found Waldo, and went inside a haunted house! Overall, it was an amazing event!!!

You can find the pictures from the meetup here:

    Bronies-NYC Nightmare Night

The Bronies-NYC group had their Nightmare Night NYC 2013 - FUNeral for a Fandom on Saturday, October 26th.

Many have often joked about the death of our beloved fandom, how it was murdered most tragically by Twilicorn and EQG. But we didn’t let it go without a proper eulogy! That is why we gathered together for our Nightmare Night.

Over eighty ponies attended. We had a Costume Contest with prizes sponsored by BIG APPLE PONYCON, our infamous annual Spiderses live reading, an activity room with many great vendors, a demo of the My Little Pony CCG and free cider (a whole lot of it!). We finished up the night with a bangin’ rave by DJ-H0IT-3.

We are preparing for our next large event, BIG APPLE PONYCON's December Holiday Party! Find out more at http://www.bigappleponycon.com/.

We are always looking for more ponies to join us so check out our Meetup page at http://www.meetup.com/Bronies-NYC/

    Tonight's Groups Looking For More

    3D Printed Custom Ponyfigs

My name is Tristan. I'm friends with Pascoite, one of your pre-readers, and I'm working on a project he suggested I send in to you. The startup I work for makes custom 3D printed miniatures for tabletop games like Pathfinder, letting players design their characters online and then 3D print the models. Our Kickstarter is going live soon (November the 5th), and a little while ago, someone on the team suggested: "What about Ponies for Pathfinder? People could make custom ponyfigs."

We threw together some figs, realized they were pretty good, and put together a little video that I think could work for EQD. Our Kickstarter isn't up yet, but you can see the preview of it there.

The ponyfigs worked out great. Since I'm a FiMFic author, we decided to start with Chrono Dash from My Little Chrono: Triggers are Magic, and Siren Song from my own fic, Siren Song. You can see the two of them below, along with one of our other tabletop models.

    Inline image 1

They're a bit bigger than blindbags, and custom-printed out of colored sandstone. The color sandstone means that any detail can be 3D printed right onto the models. Like custom cutie marks:

Or eye-details and the color in dash's mane:

These first two are pretty simple, but they were designed quickly. With a bit more time, we hope to do ultra-fine detail ponyfigs as well, like the amazing Luna set you posted a few days back. We can already do models on that level of detail (as you can see in our Kickstarter preview) we just haven't done any ponies on that scale yet. But we'd like to.

As I said above, our Kickstarter goes live on the 5th, and I was hoping you could post our Even Tinier Ponies video on the 6th. Early traffic and enthusiasm are vital for a Kickstarter to succeed, and if there's anything the Brony community has, it's creative energy and enthusiasm. If our Kickstarter succeeds, we'll be able to make fully custom ponies like those two as Ponies for Pathfinder miniatures for under $7 each, including really complicated ponies like Luna's chariot or posed and based models. There are already some 3D printed ponies out there, but they're all fairly expensive one-offs. We can make it so that any brony can make their own custom figs and OC's.

There are a few limitations on what we can do. Since they're Ponies for Pathfinder figs, we can't make Twilight Sparkle or any canon character, but we're perfect for OC's, custom figs, and other cool projects. If you could post us on the 6th, it would be a huge help. An early kick could make-or-break our project, and if we make it, we'll be able to make cool new custom figs for pony fans everywhere.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. I'd love your feedback!
