ReplyDeleteI'm not butthurt. I stopped watching [AS] years ago when they stopped being funny. Did their content degrade, or did my tastes just change? Idk, but the general consensus is that their content has massively lowered in quality.
Anyway, this is nothing to get worked up over. Adult Swim does tasteless humor. That's just what they do. I've counted way too many times where their shows had episodes centered around cancer being funny... somehow...
If every recreational aspiration and activity is supposed to revolve around getting laid, then we would have no culture at all.

Guys, this is what [AS] does. And, um... are you debating the truth of their statement? Putting aside that it is a joke, not a statement at all. If this makes you angry or even bothered, you may need to take a step back and gain some perspective.
[Besides, remember their other bump where they jokingly listed MLP alongside Game of Thrones as a show to DVR?]
Regardless, it's silly to get upset in any way over this, and kind of embarrassing to me that people would take it so personally and start attacking them in response. It needs to be repeated: WE WATCH A CARTOON FOR LITTLE GIRLS. If you can't be self-deprecating about it, and understand that you WILL take a few jabs because of it, then you've gotten a little too insulated for your own good.
Never forget how ridiculous this all is- if you do, you become just another vaguely disturbing self-important basement dweller like the ones that populate so many other fandoms. And if that's what this turns into, I'm outta here- and say goodbye to people generally thinking it's harmless, if a little weird, and hello to people generally thinking it's annoying and creepy.
