Apparently Ms. Cadence wasn't originally supposed to be an Alicorn. More proof that the horn is totally fake. I can't wait until the episode airs and Luna challenges her to a traditional magic duel. You can only keep up the charade for so long!

Wow... I didn't think that question would even get answered, much less cause a shitstorm...
ReplyDeleteI will say a couple things though, though I only scanned through the comments so far. Alicorns ARE immortal, which doesn't necessarily mean 'invincible'. That just means they live forever ... unless they're killed. Their need for guards implies that they're not invincible. Add that to the amount of power they have and the purposes they serve, and they pretty much qualify as demi-gods...
Yes, I'm over-analyzing a cartoon about technicolor ponies meant for little girls ... but being able to immerse yourself in the FiM universe is part of what makes this show so fun. So suck it. :|
Heh. All this bickering and complaining about a new Alicorn is funny. Yeah, it's a new Alicorn. Big deal. It not like they're jumping the shark and putting in a new Draconequus along with her. ...Actually, I wouldn't mind that. But anyway, I'm all for this! If MLP makes a bad move, oh well. Live and learn from mistakes, right? I believe in you MLP team! I BEEELLLIIIEEEVVVEEE!!!!! If it turns out to be a bad idea, I'll still love and tolerate this show until no more love and toleration can be given.
ReplyDeletedoes this mean its officially time to panic? the fact that cadence is an alicorn just screws over so much of the wonderful mythology i like about this show. if she wasnt meant to be an alicorn that means no explanation will ever be given. i move we all pretend she isn't an alicorn. just a unicorn like prince blueblood or a pegasus, if you so prefer.

ReplyDeleteMy 2 cents, should anyone ever read it, is that cadence was going to need to be a princess in order to rule the crystal kindom. She's the 'goddess' of love, and the crystal kindom is powered by the stuff, so it makes sense to me.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think it would behoove them to make the alicorn twilight thing temporary and/or only a part time thing. Having twilight always walking around the show as an alicorn would be like the hugest elephant in the room ever.
