Well, from a technical standpoint, it's the song that translates the best to a live cover. The pop style and simplistic chord progression make it easy to play on any instrument, and the melody fits nicely in a restricted register for singing.
Then again, I'm sure he got a kick out of us singing those lyrics. =D

Wow guys, I'm really flattered by the amazing remarks, thank you so much! It's funny, going back and listening to it again, I feel like I could have done a much better job. XD I had just woken up like 15 minutes before I sang it, and I quickly worked out the chords for the mandolin in that same time-span. But still, I'm glad for the positive response by everyone, including Mr. Ingram!

It's just not his style of music, more than likely. Some people have a very narrow pallet when it comes to music, and as such when they hear something they're not accustomed to, they usually dislike it because it's just not what they're used to or it's just not their style of music.
In any case, he's entitled to his opinion and doesn't really need to explain. Everyone's got their own taste in media~
I personally liked Living Tombstone's and Mic the Mic's best.
And yeah. Someone mix all of these. That just sounds awesome.

I moved it down to G major, at first because I lost my capo last week, but I like the sound of it better with my voice now. I also took a few liberties with the chords to fit the picking idea I had, though the general idea is there.
