We have a whole mess of FiM merch out there, but aside from the new Lyra, Carrot Top, and Big Mac blindbags, nothing has really been specifically for our little unexpected demographic.

DVD/BLU RAY of season 1 (and then season 2 through 84)
Non-Mane characters like Lyra(Heartstrings whatever), Derpy, Bon Bon, CMC, Pony Guards, Animals (Gummy, Owl, etc), and most of all Trixie. Plushies and plastic of course.
I would love some car decals so I can turn my silver GTO into Derpy.
Just anything, just as long as it's show acurate, it's the main thing that's keeping me from buying the toys. Also Season 1 boxset with commentary tracks would be nice.

Some other thing I think would make good toys/merchandise.
ReplyDeleteA sort of make your own pony kit. There is a base body for Earth Pony, Unicorn and/or Pegasus. The bodies can be painted unique colours and there are sets of hair to add to the pony and cute mark stickers so a girl can make their own unique pony figure(s). The Kit would come with a select set of body paints, hair colours and cutie marks with additional ones sold separately. There could even be accessory kits that could be sold that would include things to dress the pony up. Little girls like to personalize their dolls as an extension of themselves, being able to customize thier own pony will make it much more unique and special to her.
A Harvest Moon/ Animal Crossing type MLP game would be great. Like the above suggestion the player would create their own unique pony and explore Ponyville. Get a house, job, pet, buy things for their house and pet, socialize with the Ponyville residents and complete various tasks. From bakeing a cake with Pinkie Pie to aiding with the changes to the seasons to maybe even exploring the Everfree Forest and dealing with some big beastie? It could be make for the 3DS and using Wi-Fi to connect to friends and allow each other's pony to visit each other, trade items, and co-operate to complete quests and stuff.
Lastly just slap some ponies on everything and anything you can think of.
A ~20cm statue of Discord (from part 1) would be cool.

ReplyDeleteThese brushables I'm buying? I'd like them to come with their own damn pets, please. Last time I checked, Pinkie Pie did not own a mouse that's so big it reaches her shoulder.

ReplyDeleteThough my ultimate wish would be show accurate replicas of the Elements of Harmony necklaces (either real or costume jewelry) for sale.
Granted I know it is a long shot but I would love to wear a replica of Dash's Element of Harmony necklace!
Of course, they could just be marketed as regular jewelry without the MLP connection but what's the fun in that? Hell, the necklaces seem pretty tasteful to me.
If a season 1 box set dvd or soundtrack count, those are a given. Other than the obvious want for show accurate toys, I'd like to have a pony bumper sticker - that's one of the things I'm surprised I haven't seen made yet.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, the only official thing I've bought is one of those Canterlot throw blankets that is really comfortable, and an unofficial purchase of a custom pony shot glass which I've used too much.
I want show accurate figurines with brushable hair. AND I want show accurate plushies! EXACTLY like the show please! I would buy everypony available if they were show accurate!
