First off, it's taken from a camera, not a screen capture program/device. It seems unlikely that they would do something like that.
Second, look at the mouth, colored a bit dark don't you think?
Third, She's wearing the exact same cape that Zecora wore in bridle gossip.
Contradictions:
#1: Maybe they couldn't get a picture at the time (can't think of any better excuses)
#2: Could be early in the animation process for all I know, I don't know what happens in there.
#3: Maybe they decided to use it again?

It's funny how some people mistakenly seem to think "remastered song" means "completely new opening". Noooo, "remastered" means "enhanced quality". Don't get your hopes up too high, folks.
The interview with Jayson at BroNYcon seemed to suggest Luna was not included in Season 1 because her themes were a bit too dark for children and the E/I standard.
Let's keep in mind the main theme of the cartoon. MLP:FIM is supposed to be light-hearted and funny! As somepony else said, it would be AWESOME FUNNY if that version of Luna was simply Twilight being adorkable and panicking about Luna might do to her. :D
I'm a luna fan and I like evil Luna. It's a much better characterization than the pansy, adolescent fandom-made character that's been cropping up.

Really, if that screenshot of Luna is real, regardless of context such as somepony's imagination or origin story, it will still be awesome.
An evil Luna would go against her rumored original role (post-Nightmare Moon) of showing kids that the dark isn't bad. Like others, I suspect that it might be from a misleading or imaginary sequence.
The only thing that makes me think otherwise is that it feels like making her seem scary but turn out nice feels like it would be too much of a retread of Zecora's introduction. Especially with the cloak.

I'm glad that this is Rumor tagged. Apparently, the person who leaked this is claimed that they're from one of the other studios on this project. (He/She claimed, not sure, 100%.)
However... as much I this looks, some of the colors are off in the pictures.
Another example is that in the intro... It looks like the area where Big Macintosh is hauling the apple cart, the balloon and the train are clashing with each other to me.
Luna's mane looks a bit... off as well. However, having Luna as a reappearing antagonist would be interesting to see. However... until this gap in the episodes is over... it's a waiting game. Time will tell.

October is a month commonly associated with Halloween, and well, scary-ness. And Halloween is usually associated with night time... catch my drift?

Pretty sure the Luna cap is fake. She's ridiculously off-model. The hair shape is entirely wrong (compare), and the 3/4 face angle is only supposed to show one eye, not both. If it is real, my bet is a flashback to when she was younger, or something. I'm not in denial; I think an evil Luna would be awesome. But there has to be some reason for the model change.
The first one looks like it could be real, though. The train looks like the toy pictures that have popped up on the Chinese auction site.

The other image looks like it may be an alternate opening intro balloon landing shot. Several Ponyville regulars are there, but the train and gentle hills in the BG suggest that this may not be the same Ponyville we're used to. Also, there looks to be a pony in every window of the train.

I hope she isn't a villain either. Mischievous I can understand, but evil just seems redundant and depressing.

I doubt they would have sold the Luna celestia combo toy if she was just gonna be made evil again. It's most likely a flashback or some other thing. I'll admit that I would be very mad to see her go bad.

I think she might be on some sort of stealth mission, and is giving a sly "Lets do this" look to her partner. but the flashback comment above this one seems more likely.

I say they're fake. I don't see why there'd be a train in the middle of Ponyville, and that's clearly just an altered opening. Look at the positioning of Twi, Spike, the balloon, Big Mac and Granny Smith.
As for Luna, that look almost exactly like Zecora's hood from Bridle Gossip to me.
I know we're all suffering from a Luna drought, but there's no need to freak out about this.
Also guys, the Luna thing looks REALLY stylized. If it is canon it's probably an imagine spot of another character.

The first screenshot is really fail, It's Ponyville over Appleloosa over Ponyville.
And in the second one, the lines don't quite match the style of the rest of the art in the show, specially at the grin.

The more I look at it more it looks real to me. You'll notice some of the houses are missing from the background in this shot which gives the impression that this on the outskirts of Ponyville, the landscape and sky are also different. Also I couldn't find a single shot of Zecora with her hood that matched up with the Luna image.
I'm calling shenanigans at this point as well, but I guess we'll have to watch and see. My God, waiting sucks.
As far as evil Luna goes--
Well, "Fausted" has a nicer ring to it than "Jossed," anyway. It's like "foisted" and "ousted" ran into the creator of FiM and the three of them conceived a new word that was half portmanteau, half pun (and all awesome).
I guess I'd be willing to accept it. After all, she's basically a fanon character at this point.
Why are people automatically jumping to Luna being evil? A devious smile doesn't always mean evil. A lot of times it means devious.
