A pony named Foal Papers has taken up My Little Pony's official tweeted challenge of getting the twitter tag #MyLittlePony to trending status. Wondering what that is, or why you should care? Foal Papers has written a nicely-formatted (lovely typesetting, by the way) Tumblr post that explains everything quite nicely.

Basically, what you need to know is: between 6AM and 10AM on Saturday, you should use that hashtag. Twitter will count the occurrences of it and hopefully we can get it to 'trending' status.

Wow, half the reasons that guy gives for doing it are actually good reasons for NOT doing it as far as I'm concerned, and the rest are non-reasons at all.

Although I'm not sure if the early broadcast time will deny MLP trending status, it's definitely worth a try.
On twitter in general, I never used to like it, because when I first got it I did what everyone does and just followed random celebrities, found it boring as hell.
Now my feed's mostly friends mixed in with authors, journalists and comedians I like, and it's great.
I honestly never understand the Twitter hate.
People act like it's voodoo or something.
And the saddest thing is that Twitter is perfect for bronies. Want to talk about MLP but don't want the hassle of loging into some chatroom? Just search "#MLPFIM" using the Twitter search engine and just dive right in.
Or let's say you want to see what people think of the cutie mark crusaders but don't want to wallow through 10 pages of forum posts on some MLP message board.
Just search "Cutie Mark Crusaders" using Twitter search.
The possibilities are, like ENDLESS. Choose any phrase from the show "20% cooler", "Trollestia", "Secret Butt Fun", "Discord Q" and you get a ton of fan reactions to those. Twitter just makes it easier to see fan reaction than anything else which is why all the companies are using Twitter for market research.
Or let's say you want to see what the voice of Twilight Sparkle is like in real life. Follow @tarastrong on Twitter.
Or what's showrunner Jayson Thiessen up to? Follow @goldenrusset on Twitter. And he's not on Facebook, or Deviantart, or Tumblr or Google + he's on Twitter.

In case anyone is curious how close we where to make #MyLittlePony trend? We reached a top ratio of 0.02% on twitter (which was the hour right before the new episode aired) - One of the bottom trending topics NRLmelwar had a top ratio of 0.05%. We can do better than this Bronies - I'll say it again, we'll be ready next episode, huhu! x3
A lot of west coast and even central bronies probably don't wake up in time for the episode, it might be better to hold an event like this past 9PST.
