I'm just waiting for the inevitable fic where Discord drags our... esteemed captain along and leaves him there. Thus ensuing in the one situation where he willingly breaks a certain directive, if for no other reason than to run screaming away from our favorite pink pony.

I don't think it's so much of a spoiler as it is a trailer(the video). It just made me more excited for the new season, can't wait! I'm not much of a star trek fan but this constant joking about the voice actor being a guy from star trek is getting rather annoying. Everyone keeps bringing it up but everyone already knows, *sigh* oh well.

I only read one Star Trek: TNG crossover with MLP:FiM on fanfiction.net...I swear to god they need to write better than that!
They need to do one that involves Q sending the Enterprise-D into the MLP universe, and place them in orbit of Equestria. Then, that only way back is with the help of the mane six.

It's funny because he might actually BE Q; after all, he does manifest himself to fit the client. Heck, he might actually hint that one day, he might just introduce Twi and the Mane Six to an old friend of his.

I'm so glad they got de Lancie to voice Discord. Even not considering Q, the character is right up his alley. Considering Q, he seemed to have so much fun in the role and really shaped the concept he probably jumped at the chance to play a similar role. After a 1 minute clip he's already stolen the entire season. True de Lancie fashion.
There is no such thing as 'a lot of commas' as long as they are in the proper place.
I still wish Discord was a bit scarier. He's supposed to be worse than Nightmare Moon, but he looks like a mixed up Steven Magnet.
He has the ability to take their wings and horns. Unlike Nightmare Moon, there's no straightforward way to face him. They have to play his game and by his rules. He's not a brooding, terrifying looking villain. However, he is worse in that they're at the mercy of his whims.

@al1701 I agree. I believe this also confirms that the production staff, at least, is playing at least a LITTLE to the "periphery demographic" (I.E. bronies). After all, just because they wanted Discord to be a Q-like trickster-god didn't require them to actually HIRE John de Lancie. They could have just gotten a professional voice actor who could approximate the voice, and the target demographic would have never even gotten the in-joke.
