      So he's an extremely powerful entity trapped in something who some mortals help to release?

      Perfect opportunity to throw in a bit of genie there. He should offer to grant the CMC's wish in gratitude and give arguing Cutie Marks that only fade after his defeat.

      I think that we're getting the cause and effect mixed up. The Cutie Mark Crusaders aren't releasing Discord, they are fighting because Discord is escaping. He, or perhaps his very presence, is causing discord among them.

      Cause's he's nasty like that.

      There will be more Luna in Season 2. That has been confirmed. It was just never stated [i]when[/i]. If not the two-parter, I would guess that she will show up sooner than later. :)

      Maybe the statute itself CAUSES discord? Say, if a person was only mildly irritated with a friend, suddenly they would be more inclined to fight over something frivolous. Just a theory.

      Also, the CMC seem more... hmm... dynamic than in Season 1, or is it just me ?

      Also #2... why does Celestia has the REAL petrified-statue of a POWERFUL villain, right in the open ?

      Those cuts in the security budget are really showing there.
      That, or it's one of those god/goddess' whims, where they like to taunt or tempt mortals ?

      I think it's a bit of both. The CMC argue jump starts the effect which leads to the statue causing them to argue more until Discord's powered up enough to fully awaken.

      I'd like a better look at those other statues, maybe there's a key to defeating him in there. Like all the statues are Ponies that defeated him in the past.

      But seriously. Chaos would just be randomness. Pinkie Pie is chaotic. Disord means strife, and infighting. The CMC is discordant.
