That kind of thing doesn't happen unless your a disney princess, Rarity is kind of a gold digger if she thinks she can marry into royalty that easily. There are background checks for things like that you know.
Also it's probably up to Sparkle to see the bright side of whatever happens. Spike gets to do something interesting.
Derpy the hero of the show will be in the background waving too everybody that she'll see you season two.
