• Operation SEAPonyCon Opens Vendor Registrations With New Printing Facility

SEAPonyCon has a big ol' presser for you all today covering various things. Head on down below the break if you are interested in joining the con this year.

First and foremost, we are sorry that it took so long for us to open vendor registrations for Operation SEAPonyCon. We thank you for your patience as we introduce you to the new features we have brought to our vendor system, Friendship Pro.

This year we’re going with one-size-fits-all pricing for the vendor tables at Operation SEAPonyCon. Standard vendor booths come with a chair along with a table that measures 120 by 80 centimetres. For 2,500 PHP (Philippine Pesos, ≈50 USD), you get one table and one vendor pass. If you need one, you can add one more vendor pass to your order for 500 pesos. Any additional vendor passes are sold at the standard ticket price of 1,000 pesos. You can find the vendor application form now live at vendors.SEAPonyCon.com or under the Friendship Pro section of our website at SEAPonyCon.com.

Friendship Pro does not discriminate between artists and vendors. Both will be given the same sized tables.

You may remember that Friendship Pro is the vendor hall system we inherited from The friendship Express which initially offered tiered vendor spaces for different sizes. Now in our third iteration, we are about to evolve the vendor experience at Operation SEAPonyCon.

We are proud to introduce the brand new Friendship Pro Connect - the next step in enhancing the vendor experience at SEAPonyCon. What is Friendship Pro Connect? We’re glad you asked. At the vendor area we will be installing a print station that only staff and vendors have exclusive access to - allowing artists of the digital medium to produce their works on-the-spot.

The printer at this station will be capable of printing in full colour and grayscale. All vendors will have unlimited access to this printer within fair use guidelines to avoid congestion and abuse.

As this is our first time with this new service, there’s bound to be some hiccups but that’s why we also want to bring this to you - all innovations start somewhere and we’re beginning the brand new journey of Friendship Pro Connect right at Operation SEAPonyCon. Specially for our vendors this year, all of you will be pioneers of this new innovation. That’s why for a first time special, we’re making Friendship Pro Connect a free addition to all vendor tables this year.

To our digital artists, you can now print your commissions as soon as they’re done by sending the print job straight to the printer from your device.

For nearly a decade, this fandom has brought about artists from all mediums and styles. Some experienced artists adopted ponies into their portfolio while some started out their artistic journey drawing pastel equines. With the advent of technology many learned through tutorials from the internet or by tracing screenshots, evolving through numerous rounds of practice to becoming the artists that build our fandom today.

But there are many artists who continue the traditional discipline - who pursue the physical medium without the privilege of having Ctrl+Z. The versatility of the physical medium has always been to the advantage of vendors who can take commissions on-the-go - who bring their tools with them to the field and with that, the ability to create almost anywhere.

The digital era has been playing catch up but with modern devices the gap has shrunk significantly. However as quickly as technology develops, the cost of keeping up both in terms of adoption and money stack up to form a tricky barrier to entry. That’s why this year we want to try to build a bridge between these two mediums, bringing them closer together than ever before.

For traditional artists who take commissions, the printer will have a copier function, allowing you to make and keep copies of your works. Alternatively we want to see you get creative with Friendship Pro Connect. Print watermarked papers, borders and frames and even backgrounds to sketch, draw or paint on. We can’t wait to see what you come up with.

So once again, Friendship Pro Connect will be available as standard with all Friendship Pro tables starting at 2,500 Philippine Pesos. Everything you need to know, including our fair use policy and terms and conditions are available at vendors.SEAponyCon.com.

For some final housekeeping before we wrap up, we would like to remind everyone that there’s less than three months left until the convention - Tickets are still available at tickets.SEAPonyCon.com. Consider this your final call for Harmony Six panels and activity applications too as we will be closing Harmony Six applications on 30 November and speaking of deadlines, vendors! You have until the 28th of October to get your applications in. Again, we sincerely apologise for this delay and we hope to see you vending with us at Operation SEAPonyCon!
