• Nightly Roundup #584

And so another season draws to a close. It's been a wild ride with all the speculation, rumors, and leaks the past several months. Now it's time for some rest, to return to our individual projects and start our journey into another pony drought. Though the hiatus looks to be a long one I have full confidence that with the material we've been given by the show combined with the utter amazing creative talent of the fandom that we will once again pull through.

We've got a huge season to look forward to with many adventures for our pony friends ahead, but for now lets get cracking and do what we do best: create. I'll stick by you guys if you promise to stick by me!

Since the news wasn't reported last night because I was putting together my new computer, we have a huge Roundup tonight. Prepare yourself! Are you ready?

    Real Life Bass Cannon

Let's get this party started with some music! A pony fan has constructed a replica of Vinyl's bass cannon and wanted to share it with you all tonight. Here's what he has to say:

Well, minus the forest clearing wub-beam of doom.

After about 3 weeks of work, I have built myself a ‘replica’ bass cannon based from the flash epic wub time. It measures 20 inches on every dimension and is operated from a pioneer radio with CD/USB/Line-in. With 350 watts of total amplifier power- it drives four 4 inch speakers and a 12-inch subwoofer. Wouldn't be complete without RGB lighting that tries to sync with the beat. And to count as a bass cannon it just had to be mobile so wheels and a battery was a must. Charges in an hour, plays max volume for an hour. Or keep plugged in for 24/7 wubs. (neighbors love it!)

I was the Special Events Coordinator for a broad-spectrum gaming convention in Victoria, BC, called GottaCon. Part of my duties was to organize and moderate all the panels.
One of those panels was about Bronies. Five members of the Victoria Bronies sat on the panel, and we had a really good discussion about what it means to be a Brony, the myths and realities, and how the geek community can better support this area of fandom.

The Life and Death of a DJ Project

    Copy Paste:

First off I’d like to introduce the author, Syn3rgy. His writing career spans back a while, but in this fandom, he’s known for writing the semi-official fanfic for H8 Seed and Glaze’s song ‘Awoken’, and the original novel ‘The Life and Death of a DJ’ (Which is what the game will be based on). In a nutshell, The Life and Death of a DJ follows Vinyl’s life from being a foal to growing old and dying. It’s a simple story, and that’s the beauty of it. If you want to see it yourself, you can find it here @ http://www.fimfiction.net/story/36368/the-life-and-death-of-a-dj on Fimfiction. So I thought to myself, what if we turned this into a tangible game for everypony to play? My idea is to take a visual-novel standpoint for the game, kind of like Welcome to Ponyville. The game will follow a similar style as Fable; storyline decisions, both the positive and negative, will contribute to the end game. Every detail and decision matters, whether it be telling somepony to get lost, or striking up a conversation with them. The story will have its main plotline, keeping true to the original idea, but there will always be an intersecting storyline that will deviate from the main plotline if you so choose.

Please email LifeandDeathofaDJ@gmail.com if you are interested in helping out with the project.

    Reactions Are Magic - Submissions

    Copy Paste:

For the season finale and beyond, Reactions Are Magic have REMOVED the guideline of requiring the submissions to be pre-edited. So if anyone can submit a video of their reaction to the finale, however long it is, you just have to make sure the episode can be heard in the background so they'll know what you're reacting to!
