ReplyDelete#1: Welp, this drawing's gotten me interested in the game, so it's obviously a success. This is just a fun drawing of each of the mane 6 performing an attack, with excellent lighting and terrific use of effects and details.
ReplyDelete#2: Considering how old it is, Majora's Mask gets crossed over with MLP an awful lot, usually to good effect as in this drawing.
#4: Great color, and I think Twilight looks really cute here, though I expect once I read the comments I'll be seeing lots of "ooh sexy" and "saucy, hide it" remarks...
#8: It's nice to see Allie again; even though Applejack's head looks a little wonky, this is a really cute, appealing drawing.
#9: Another terrific Daring Do action shot, with a great dynamic pose and excellent lighting.
#10: Excellent Applejack portrait; I love her pose and expression, and the soft colors really work well here.
#12: If Celestia wants to dress as an anime magical schoolgirl, who's to tell her no? Really cute portrait.
#14: Fun group portrait of the canon and fanon mailponies.
#15: I tend to think we should see at least some of Twilight's eye from this angle, but even taking that into account, this is a really cute drawing; I love this interpretation of an older Spike as a water dragon.
#16: Nice portrait of this fandom's oddest pairing, with a shadowy Master thrown in the mix. Terrific title, too.
#17: I like the style and colors on this Fluttershy portrait.
#18: Poor cute pouting Woona. Perfect body language for her.
#19: Nice drawing of Twilight and Spike taking in Luna's sky.

#22: I think this has been posted before, but it's a terrific family portrait at Sweet Apple Acres.

#29: Excellent portrayal of an unusual collaboration, though I could easily see this happening. After all, I've enjoyed concert where a bluegrass band and a central Asian throat singing group performed together.
#30: Beautiful portrait of Luna in an unusual, evocative landscape; nice job including Celestia and two other ponies in the background.
#35: Great style and a fun expression in this Luna portrait.
Ah. So Pinkie is the poor soldier who is inevitably mind controlled, turns, and launches the missile back into my own dropship, killing most of the crew.

#1 Pretty darn awesome Fighting is Magic fanart. Portraying some of the abilities of each too it seems. At first I was wondering why Fluttershy's eyes were glowing. Until mid-thought I remember, "Oh, her ability is the stare, derp". So overpowered it is too. lol Love this pic.

Pinkie seems to be packing some serious firepower. Love the armor suit too. It is helping her to stand on her hind legs? Whatever you do, just don't let Lyra see it.

#15 I'm not really picky on what type of dragon Spike is myself. A dragon is a dragon to me I guess. Though I don't believe Spike to be a water dragon either, in this pic I think he looks pretty good as one at least.
#16 Some more great Dr Whoof and Derpy art. I see a lot of pieces of them inspired by this or that time or Dr Who/Dr Whoof-related music. Though every time I see something Dr Who or Dr Whoof, the song Back In Time by Eiffel 65 comes to mind. Just seems to fit.

#29 Some more epic Octavia and Vinyl art. Always welcomed from me of course. :D As for the music that's made when a cellist and DJ play together, that really depends on what kind of music the DJ is working with at the time. :P I must say, I adore that lovely shiny finish and wood pattern used on the cello. It looks so real. Vinyl seems to be using a Denon player. Not too shabby. Really awesome and great-looking pic.
#30 Gorgeous nightscape pic of Luna. Colors, shading, textures are all very nice. Especially love the background with those swirling clouds and stars. Didn't notice them at first, but the inclusion of Pinkie and Derpy is a nice fun little touch too. :)
#31 Unfortunately there indeed isn't a ton of fanart of Apple Strudel about. That I've seen anyway. I suppose he just never caught on as much as some others. But he is an odd fun character for sure.
#35 Love that style. Especially the flowing dreamy style of her mane. And those nice vibrant colors too. If this was a little more narrow, it would be perfect as a bookmark. Heck, it could still be a beautiful wide bookmark.

I've enjoyed the fact the past drawfriends have been keeping a, "better safe than sorry," approach to anything that could be considered saucy, but I wouldn't be surprised if people start wanting #4 behind a link simply because of the tags, which give context to the picture.
In other words:
"Hey, is that a saucy picture?"
"I don't know, doesn't seem like it is, but it could be."
*Sees tags*

It is possible that someone unfamiliar with Ponibooru might give some weight to the "sexy" tag, but then they'd be letting some anonymous stranger tell them how to feel about a piece of art, which is just silly.
#4 is exactly the type of drawing that some people have called for to be hidden behind a link before, tags or no tags, and it's true someone may bring up the tags as a reason why, but until then, I'm just going to be pleasantly surprised that no one's done so yet.

Oh, dear, I had intended to comment earlier on this Drawfriend but as usual, it seems, I was distracted. C'est la vie, and better late than never I suppose~
ReplyDelete#1 I honestly don't even know why, considering I don't play video games but I have been excited by this project ever since I first learned of it, and can hardly wait until it's finally released. Tsitra has done a very admirable job bringing our battling ponies to life here (despite the fact that some things about the picture seem slightly off to me; it's easy enough to overlook) and I love Twilight and Applejack especially. Good stuff!
#8 I'll agree with Jody that Applejack's head looks very slightly off here, but it's certainly nothing that detracts from this image too much for me and indeed I find myself drawn to the cuteness of it and warmth of the colors. More Applejack is always welcome.
#9 A very nice fanart of Daring Do this evening! This pony has inspired so much fanart, and much of it of quite good quality that I have to say I'm impressed. Anyway though, I really like the composition of this piece and especially the warm, soft, and dynamic coloring... the lighting is really great here and those clouds in particular came out beautifully.
#10 Such a wonderful little fanart of Applejack! The drawing itself is incredibly cute and does a lovely job capturing her personality, but as has been mentioned by others the colors especially are what initially caught my eye. I love the warmth and richness of this simple piece.
#13 Eeek, Hoity Toity! He does not at all get enough attention in fanworks as far as I'm concerned and it's a fabulous surprise to see find this picture in Drawfriend, simple though it is. It's a shame I'm so incredibly busy these days or I'd make some art of him myself.
#17 This is a pretty neat little fanart of Fluttershy, soft and loose though the coloring and style is. I think what I like most about it are the colors used, as well as the texture visible throughout the background... I always am partial to some good textures.
#22 Apple family portrait! This piece is pretty impressive to me in several ways, and mostly I think for the concept as well as how it was executed in the composition. Some of the ponies look a little bit different or off relative to one another, and I can't help but notice that the coloring style is not consistent throughout but then again maybe that only helps to add to the charm. For the most part, very nice.
#23 This is a pretty terrifying fanart of Discord, not going to lie. The style and layout are very complex and skewed but I think both things only serve to compliment the image in this case... it caught my eye anyway.
#29 Such a lovely artwork of Octavia and Vinyl Scratch, and looking at it closely it's even more fabulous than I originally thought! I love, love, love the attention to detail throughout this piece; Vinyl's equipment of course, the shiny varnished wood grain of Octavia's cello, that background screen and yes, how could I not mention that flooring?! The lighting, gloss and glare are truly almost photorealistic in places and I absolutely love it. A most excellent effort, for sure, kudos artist!
#35 This picture is really simple but, it actually caught my eye immediately and I would feel very bad if I did not at least mention it here. I really love the composition of it, the cleanliness of the overall image and the lovely whimsical quality of much of the linework. Very nice!
I'm afraid that's all I have time for this evening because, once again I find myself torn in many directions at once, and looking back on it now I think I might have forgotten to eat pretty much all day (I suppose that would explain the slight disorientation, anyway). All in all though a most excellent Drawfriend, and thank you so much fellow artists for sharing~!
