To be honest I do not like the name Derpy, it's just too...insulting and not something I would call a pony. I guess it can be a nickname, because seriously, what kind of parents would name their kid "Derpy"?

ReplyDeleteWhile I thoroughly enjoy BaldDumboRat's/PierceSmoulder's voice for Derpy Hooves, and she should continue to use it for all of her stuff, I have to say I'm perfectly okay with Ashleigh Ball voicing Derpy in the canon episodes. I JUST HOPE THEY DON'T CHANGE ACTRESSES ON US WITH DERPY LIKE THEY HAVE WITH PAST BACKGROUND CHARACTERS.

Derpy's speech style was first shown when she said "muffiiinnnss" in Applebuck Season.
As much as I loved the Derpy moment in the episode, I feel really bad for Applejack since it was HER episode (first major one in the season) and Derpy's getting all the spotlight...! :'(

First thought about her voice is that she sounds like she's voiced by Ashleigh, but now that I think about it, it could be Tabitha or Andrea too...I dunno.

Was unneeded but I liked it. They gave her the perfect voice. The fanon voice is just too silly... Loved the episode in general. Only complaint I have is that AJ loosing the rodeo was predictable from the start... But awesome episode nontheless! :)

I figured Derpy Hooves should have stayed with the fandom, cause I felt Ditzy Doo was a far more acceptable name that would have actually been given to a filly rather then Derpy Hooves. The voice, not to sure on. Some of the way it sounded was bad, others I liked. I really did like the voice, I just feel it should have been done in a normal way. Going to have to wait for the youtube video to hear it again.
