Anthropological Study of Brony Culture
Someone needs you guys to answer questions for her Anthropological study! Have some copy paste:
Hey everypony,
My name is Sarah, and I'm doing research in cultural anthropology. I'm conducting a study about brony culture, the brony community, and how Equestria Daily plays a role in the experience of being a brony. I chose this topic because I have a lot of respect and admiration for the MLP fandom, and I think it's generally just really cool. For this study, I need people willing to take this short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Y3RJ53B. (And when I say a short survey, I really do mean a short survey. There are a grand total of 13 questions, and a lot of them are yes-no, and several of them are optional.) Please don't be deterred by the official-looking consent form on the first page (although I do ask that people under 18 not take the survey, because I did not fill out the oodles of extra paperwork that would be required for that). So... please, please, please take my survey. For science?

ReplyDeleteNo one under 18 can participate? Darn; they're cutting out a substantial demographic. It's likely their results will have an artificial skew as a result, if bronies under 18 actually decline to participate as instructed.
I actually liked that newspaper article. They even got the right pony generation :P. The comments on that German website weren't quite as nice, to put it lightly. Apparently, Luke Allen is a child molester and Sethisto doesn't have any friends except his pony figurines.

ReplyDeleteUh, Veggie55, it was in the Independent :P There was a smaller version of the paper with the same article, but with RD in the top image and a Naruto cosplayer. But I got the bigger one (I sent the article to EqD). In my school they always bring in newspapers for people to read at lunch, and I was surprised to see that in it.
I want to read that newspaper article, to bad I can't read irish.

ReplyDeleteWhile I respect the work the person put into it, I'm still not a fan of objective-free maps. All the free maps I've played on are full of spies that can't stop backstabbing/sapping, and Snipers looking to level up their "Strange" rifles. Best thing to do is stay in the spawn room and broadcast trade requests in the message feed.

Great anthropological survey, especially since some of the questions were open ended. The "other" option just doesn't cut it.
