      #1 I really liked it. I tried to fit each piece with a part(s) from Past Sins.
      Will try to not use *Spoilers* but be warned for anypony who hasn't read it yet...
      1: Beginning scene in Everfree forest during the ritual
      2: Celestia comes to take Nyx
      3: Nightmare Moon rises/Nyx fighting the monsters of the Everfree forest
      4: Injured Nyx and Twilight share what could be their last day together
      5: Celestia and Luna pass judgement on Nyx/Ending

      #2 Was very relaxing, I liked it

      #3 I think this one was posted before, but that's ok cause it's still awesome. I liked how it began with the MLP theme.

      I'm going to join you and take it a step further! I hate all pony music because it's from an overrated show whos fanbase are all bandwagon morons. MLP is a cancer on the web with oversensitive fans who cry whenever someone doesn't like the show. Oh wait, I'm on Equestria Daily because I like MLP, even when others may not...

      Personally, I think Past Sins is the best story I've read on the blog, but its understandable if you dont like it. Still take a good look at that music though, because I think it's pretty awesome. Judge the music by the music, and not by the fanfic it's inspired by.

      And yet I don't see the same level of hate for other fics.
      But considering Nyx is suppose to be a filly form of Nightmare Moon, I don't see why everyone wants to label her as a Mary Sue due to her being an alicorn with lots of power. She doesn't even get to keep all that power anyways. I dunno, I don't understand why people get so worked up in such a negative way over a story, and thus I try to avoid such people because I will enjoy what I want in the fandom and they can just wallow in their own hate for whatever reasons they may have.

      And it's not like we see much of Nyx anymore since the story has been finished, so something like this making it to EqD seems pretty rare.

      to some extent that is completely true about the fandom, at least in regard to us having lots of oversensitive crybaby fans (not so much on EQD, but man go to Ponychan and they are EVERYWHERE).

      my main problem with the story is that I see a ton of the characters (mainly Twilight) being OOC and that the idiot ball seems to be thrown around all the goddamn time.

      seriously if she was in character Twilight would have reported Nyx to Celestia right away, she's beyond devoted to her.

      also I find the entire concept of a filly NMM stupid, and worry that idiots can use Nyx to justify their own ridiculous Alicorn OC's.

      beyond that I simply found Nyx to be generally unlikable, as both a Filly and NMM.

      the reason it gets so much hate is because its SO overrated and got so much attention it did not deserve.

      1. Unfounded Strength: Tug-of-War Scene
      2. Hearts Torn Asunder: Celestia Taking Nyx away from twilight
      3. A Triumphant Return: When Nightmare Moon is put back into flesh
      4. Hearts on a string: The hanging scene
      5. Dark Savior: Nightmare Moon saving ponyville

      I made these a fair time ago, back when i first started reading the fic. Also, I'm not a major nyx fan, i just felt like making the music xD

      @Mojo I dunno.. saying Twilight was OOC, because she showed compassion for a scared filly instead of turning her over to Celestia to face an unknown fate, seems a bit harsh. And I'd imagine it WOULD be a terrible thing to be devoted to somepony that you've come to think of as your own. Poor Twilight.

      Honestly, the only character that annoyed me throughout was Pinkie Pie. But I guess it's hard to write for a pony that random.

      And as far as cancer goes...I think i've seen enough disturbing fics/images/etc. to know that this story isn't even on that level. Cupcakes, anyone? I also think that the obsession with shipping has become more of a "cancer" than one heartwarming story about a mother/daughter relationship. But, I don't go around bringing others down about it and the only hate that anypony will see from me will be for anything similar to Cupcakes OR any kind of *insert pony* abuse.

      yes, Twilight in the show is devoted to Celestia to the point where she would in fact do that, and guess what it would be the right thing to do.

      Cupcakes is just a Troll shock fic that was way way overblown, it's not even scary, I actually find it funny in how hard it TRIES to be scary and shocking.

      I don't have a problem with shipping, and id rather see more of it than more goddamn Grimdark/Sad fics.

      @Mojo Judging from the show itself, I'd say Twilight has tried to handle more problems herself due to fear of Celestia's punishment. I mean, thinking she would banish Fluttershy for taking her Pheonix or thinking she'd be sent back to magic kindergarten for not turning in a friendship report on time? Not to mention how freaked out she got each time Celestia was coming to visit Ponyville. So yea, I doubt Twilight would want to turn in a scared filly and risk it being sent to the moon just because it may or may not be NMM.


      I think some parts of the fandom is starting to take things way too seriously. The show is suppose to be cute, heart warming, funny, innocent, and simple to follow. And I think 'Past Sins' follows those traits. So, I don't understand why it can't just be enjoyed for what it is without expecting some epic adventure written by a professional author that doesn't fall into some of the pitfalls that fan-based writing often experiences. And yet it seems to receive the most hate. IF anything, fics that are shipping, grimdark, etc. are the ones that are not in character with the show.

      kinda a bigger issue there then the other stuff don't yah think? though Celestia would be a fool to just send it to the moon, the only correct course of action would be putting that potential monster down, for the greater good of all, holding one over everyone else is foolish. (and yes that isn't really critism as much as random thought exposition by me)

      and I think Twilight would be more afraid of the potential of Nightmare Moon (you know basically an evil god) coming back than Celestia punishing her.

      this fandom has taken things too seriously for a LONG time, where have ya been?

      I don't expect professional epic adventures out of fanfics, as i said earlier my favorite fic on the site is the Vinyl Scratch tapes, a comedic, lighthearted fic with some mild shipping.

      as I said before it receives lots of hate because it got more attention than it deserved, Fallout Equestria has more attention than it deserves too IMO, though I have no solid opinion of it due to not having the will to read a fic that goddamn long.

      she was Nightmare Moon reincarnated, for the purpose of that story they are too some extent seperate entity's, and Nightmare Moon WAS evil (though I do regard her and Luna as ultimately one and the same)


      which is why my favorite fan fics than anything else are generally more comedy with a plot than anything else.

      Dude, I like Past Sins but Fallout E blows all other fics out of the water! It's fricken epic, I wish all fics were written that good. The biggest put off is the Grimdark part but that I can understand cause it is GRIMDARK AS FUCK!!! I also liked the Blind DJ pony ship fic...and Mort takes a holiday...and the stories I write but they have the ponies way ooc

      I still don't have interest in reading it, it's way way too long, and from what I hear the end is still not really in sight.

      I simply don't want to invest that much time in one fan fic.

      I have no real problem with the idea of Grimdark if it's done right, but like right now it seems that over half of the fics submitted to EQD are Grimdark and/or Sad, which is kinda odd considering this is a show about Cartoon Ponies, Friendship, and Magic, also that much of one thing just gets boring.

      however Vinyl Scratch Tapes remains my favorite, simply cause it made me laugh lots and ended up getting adorable too.

      #1 was quite well made, regardless of your feelings as to the inspiration. The individual movements were distinctive and carried the appropriate emotional tones. Very nicely done.

      #2 is simply beautiful. Loved it completely.

      I don't think #3 is technically a waltz any more than I did yesterday, but it's still as great as it was yesterday.

      While I'll admit Past Sins is a bit overrated, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't one of my favorite fanfics. It's one of the only multi-chapter fics that I've read multiple times.

      FO:E is still my favorite. I'm actually planning to reread it when it finishes, just so I can see how long it takes me. I'm guessing about 1.5-2 weeks.

      Wow. A whole album for Nyx? Words can't describe how grateful I feel. As much as Past Sins is both over-hyped (it is) and apparently hated by some, Pen Stroke and I are always blown away by how generous our readers are with their fan works and we appreciate their efforts.

      Also, all classical music? I'll have to give a listen because I love me some classical music. Anyone feel like remixing Discord's theme from the show into a form of classical music?

      Seriously though: Mr. Basch is rapidly becoming one of my favourite Pony musicians, with his delightful classical-inspired melodies. And Pen Stroke & Batty Gloom continue to write phenomenal fics -- bad stories and forgettable/unlikable characters don't get Star-6 ratings and piles of fanart, you know.

      I find the fact that im linking you this now after my little hate storm against Past Sins there, just know I actually like most of other fic iv read that you and Pen Stroke wrote.

      really a large part of my dislike for the fic stems from some of it's fans being really annoying and seemingly caring more about it than the actual show, but I actually do respect all the time you and Pen Stroke put into it regardless of my dislike for the result.

      and hey id actually rather have Past Sins than the recent flood of Grimdark/sad fics.

      Say what you will about Past Sins, you have to admit that it was at least memorable. The worst thing a writer can experience is indifference to their work. Lots of people liked Past Sins, and lots of people (myself included, to be honest) disliked it, but there are very few who just didn't care. If I had wrote Past Sins, I would be beyond honored that someone dedicated an entire album to one of my characters.

If that's the case, could some pony who's downloaded it put up a mediafire link or something? No one seems to realize that if their music gets featured, their available BandCamp free downloads will be gone in 10 second flat.

      @ whoever complains about the fanbase:
      Maybe the reason why the fanbase is so SENSITIVE, is because the story for every single episode (assuming we're talking about the episodes) is as professionally crafted as it can get.
      Everything about the series is crafted so goddamn perfectly, and if you want to complain about it, saying that, in essence, you can't amount to anything to this degree of awesomeness, then take it someplace else.

      The fanbase is too powerful; you will all become void in your opinions, and eventually slip into a consciousness, that of acceptance for MLP, and cease your hateful thoughts.
      I will fight for this fandom, 'till the very end.
